NRG-Vampire Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 (edited) FYI you guys might notice that the engine smoke effects (as seen in GAs MiG-29 promo video) are missing, they should be added in again later - however you can enjoy the wingtip vortex and landing smoke :) P.S check folder Bazar\shaders\ParticleSystem2 to see where the new shaders effects are, exhaustTrail.fx is still there just inactive for now. i expected this: when mission starts and when smoke appears, it appears on the half horizon and drop the FPS down drastically for a few seconds (in 1.2.6 steam beta) after that the situation (FPS with smokes) returns to normal Edited September 5, 2013 by NRG-Vampire
Mike Busutil Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 First impressions, how does it compare to the Huey? My first impression is the Mi-8 feels more smooth and controllable than the Huey. I did set my curvature of the flight controls to 20% to match my Huey before my first flight. I'm not 100% just yet but I think the Mi-8 is using a gyro to help with the pith and roll... The start up procedure is a lot more involved than the Huey. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Checkout my user files here: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/filter/user-is-Mike Busutil/apply/

Python Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 Had a quick go with the update, I have one age old problem in that the tutorials freeze, I put the P51 Engine start mission on and he stopped talking after setting the throttle an inch in, I tried several times with the same result. Didn't try any of the others however. Also, I do have contrails but you have to pull really hard while fast to get them to appear? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
cichlidfan Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 Did you try repair? I thought repair would also initiate the updater as well? I should hope not. Supersheep Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 Did you start DCS before the patch? Auto-Updater only checks once a day (used to at least). You can call the updater manually. The PVC Pipe Joystick Stand How to thread

KennethBF Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 Update Problems 1.2.6 Anybody else have a update problem? When I started DCS today, it started downloading DCS World 1.2.6. But it did not download/install correct. Now I'm Stuck at 1.2.5 because it will not start the update again. I also try the DCS_Updater.exe in Bin folder, but that does not work. DCS world starts without updating. Sulotions to the problem? Anyboddy? ED Team NineLine Posted September 4, 2013 ED Team Posted September 4, 2013 If you have an old version, and a new version is available part of "repairing" your install is updating it... similar to other repairs that will redownload files that are altered, broken, or missing.
