Forgot to mention, a new version is up in the first post (again!) this time the horizon is lowered by a tiny tiny amount, this gives the horizon a slightly better curve and has a knock on effect of the colouration/brightness of clouds and haze - overall i think it looks alot better.

 

Just question to Mustang. From the first version I have this "gaps" sametimes on clouds.

With default no, so it looks like a bug of of this mod. Im correct?

 

check with the latest version, i don't see these holes.

Flash update! v5.55 is up, i've been playing around with the water reflection power for the HIGH setting in waterEffect.fx and have settled on what i deem to be more realistic values - for example the terrain reflections on the ocean will be much more faded when you're far away from the coastline than the default, try it and see if you can tell the difference (LOW and MEDIUM water settings are unaffected by these changes)

 

edit: if needed i can totally kill all reflections for the HIGH water setting, this may help some with gaining slightly more FPS while still retaining all the cool features like the ship wake effects and nice refractions around coasts etc (thanks to ZMEY-HS for the idea) i could upload a separate version if there is any interest in this.

Maybe it's due to the nvidia card setup. Could you give some suggestion?

Or how to check whether the card has any problem (any software)?

 

I have also seen these holes in the clouds, but to be honest they didn't really bother me that much to look into them. Im also running Nvidia here, so maybe it is related to these cards / drivers.

Tried latest version Mustang and I didnt like it....reverted back to earlier version.

Hard to explain but the whole effect is a bit too much blue for me but cheers for your efforts:thumbup:

Hi, here is a small example - notice in the first screenshot that the terrain reflections have a bold outline when seen from a distance

now in this screenshot the reflections are set to fade at an earlier time, this helps with the outline problem and also helps with better fade at longer distances

First post updated to v5.56 - re-tuned blue levels for sky luminance and also included special version with all water reflections disabled for HIGH water setting (by request!)

Sweet I wonder if that no reflections will fix that annoying weirdness in 3d :). That's the one and only error I get in 3d is the shore reflections I'll give her a try

I've tested your "Clouds & Sky complete v5.55" and for me this new reflection is just AWESOME, definitely your Mod is ON MUST.

No problem, the alterations to the sky were only made recently and the settings have been somewhat experimental, i'm happier with the newer value too :thumbup:

There seems to be problems with:

1. The sun reflection continues on the other side of the carrier without any disturbance or carrier shadow.

2. Reflection's light upon the sea and upon the carrier are too different.

3. Where is the sun?

With such a reflection I would expect the sun to be quite low.

But...I suspect these problems are on the DCS side.

Ah you saw that screenshot before i removed it :doh: yeah it's just a test, i'm still toying around with different values in waterEffect.fx.

I think all of us are very happy with this mod and we are able to wait for new versions, more tweaked and tested in deep until you could be happy with the results.

Just like to thankthe person who posted a cirrus cloud fix. It rocks. In CA sometimes I want a gods eye view just because I want to watch rocket artillery arcing across the sky. Now I can see everything, not just ... clouds.

we know it's not your job Mustang to correct (of course that's not a shader bug) but will the dark/invisible lightning ever officially fixed by ED ? (before EDGE?)

 

or is it ok in edge already ? do you know it ? hopefully the answer is not NDA
