Tucano_uy Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 I waited until the Mustang went on sale for the first time to buy it. Then I realized how much time I had wasted.... That said, at this point in time we all should know how it works with ED and partners wrt sales and promotions. It's our own choice to buy or not, and when to do it. I am already bored of this discussion arising with every sale.
Mainstay Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 (edited) Sorry, but you know: this is how the market works Oherwise this is a correct conduct in such a situation: Edit: Tone71 sniped - had a same thought No thanks. Discount after a fair amount of time (say 2 or 3 months) i can understand but 60% discount only after two weeks releasing a new product is just plain wrong. And besides its not like this was the first time. RTemeber both products are still in beta and you already start with discounts? Fantastic products (Mi8 and Huey) from a company i distrust from today and so on. Edited September 19, 2013 by Mainstay
Kuky Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 Well funny how some claim they bought at full price to support the developers but then complain that they pair the full price? I paid to beczl 2 times donations when he made FC2 mods for MiG-21... I supported him in Indiegogo also... and I will still gladly pay full price for the module when its released... why? 1 because I can and 2 because I am very happy for him doing this work that I will enjoy for many hours, days, weeks... etc. You really shouldn't feel bad... not unless you were tricked... but you were not tricked... so just relax and enjoy what you have now (the module). 1 PC specs: Windows 11 Home | Asus TUF Gaming B850-Plus WiFi | AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D + LC 360 AIO | MSI RTX 5090 LC 360 AIO | 55" Samsung Odyssey Gen 2 | 64GB PC5-48000 DDR5 | 1TB M2 SSD for OS | 2TB M2 SSD for DCS | NZXT C1000 Gold ATX 3.1 1000W | TM Cougar Throttle, Floor Mounted MongoosT-50 Grip on TM Cougar board, MFG Crosswind, Track IR
hegykc Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 What happened to SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY? Now you're acting like we're stealing something from you. I bought the Huey on sale, never even downloaded it. I'll throw 20$ at the Mi-8 without a thought, won't install it either. So you better be happy your cherished developer is taking money on all sides and surviving in this niche of a niche market. www.replikagear.com
Kuky Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 I think it's a dangerous commercial politic who is just a ball in their own legs... who now will pay the full price ? And if they say that 19.99 is enough to make money and cover developement ... So why propose so expensive normal price (and it's on this that Customer who paid normal price feel offense)... The good price is the good price for each (custome and dev.) I feel that it can be dangerous for futur of DCS ... And what will we have when they will close because nobody will pay normal price? Nothing dangerous here... and anyone not seeing the sale if they want to buy after sale is over, they will have to pay full price again... until it gets price reduction or another sale... who are you angry with? You shouldn't be angry at ED, you should be angry at YOURSELF! Don't buy anything full price any more... not just here but anything in life in general.... end of story PC specs: Windows 11 Home | Asus TUF Gaming B850-Plus WiFi | AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D + LC 360 AIO | MSI RTX 5090 LC 360 AIO | 55" Samsung Odyssey Gen 2 | 64GB PC5-48000 DDR5 | 1TB M2 SSD for OS | 2TB M2 SSD for DCS | NZXT C1000 Gold ATX 3.1 1000W | TM Cougar Throttle, Floor Mounted MongoosT-50 Grip on TM Cougar board, MFG Crosswind, Track IR

Tucano_uy Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 I guess there won't be many early adopters left for the next releases of BST modules... Unfortunately I believe there are not many adopters at all, be them early or late for the UH1 and the MI8 and that may explain this modules being on sale so early after release. This are niche products (transport helos), inside a niche (helicopters), inside a niche (study flight sims), inside a niche (aviation games). Even having 100% of the market share, this market might be very small. I hope I'm wrong. All quality product developers deserve to make good money out of their work.
speckfire Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 Belsimtek is an ED partner, under their business umbrella. You buy the product from an ED page and not a Belsimtek page. No excuses. Speed is life !!!
Kuky Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 ah stop whining about it... no one forced you to buy it?! 1 PC specs: Windows 11 Home | Asus TUF Gaming B850-Plus WiFi | AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D + LC 360 AIO | MSI RTX 5090 LC 360 AIO | 55" Samsung Odyssey Gen 2 | 64GB PC5-48000 DDR5 | 1TB M2 SSD for OS | 2TB M2 SSD for DCS | NZXT C1000 Gold ATX 3.1 1000W | TM Cougar Throttle, Floor Mounted MongoosT-50 Grip on TM Cougar board, MFG Crosswind, Track IR
EagleEye Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 A 60% discount 2 weeks after the release of an early beta, wow. Lesson not learned from that Huey sale after a month or so?! Sorry Nirvi.:( But 2 week`s is really ridiculous. I´m happy I`ve just waited this time with my Mi-8 purchase. TurboHog Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 Sorry, but you know: this is how the market works Oherwise this is a correct conduct in such a situation: Edit: Tone71 just sniped me - had a same thought :) ah stop whining about it... no one forced you to buy it?! Do take a little more effort to understand our anger. Not everyone is able to easily afford two $50 dollar modules. But you want those modules so badly that you decide to buy them anyway and try to save some money elsewhere. You may call that whining, but that is a word that is too easily thrown at critically-minded people on this forum. This is perfectly understandable frustration. Besides I am quite surprised that BST and/or ED agreed on putting the Mi-8 on sale. It does not take a genius to be able to see how BST's reputation would suffer from a sale two weeks after its release. Did they miss the what everyone so glady calls 'whining' after the Huey sale? speckfire Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 (edited) ah stop whining about it... no one forced you to buy it?! Excuse me?? Really??? This is the best answer you have? Did you get your copy for free as a tester? I wouldn't be rude to others if I were you. How disrespectful ! So I should not express my displeasure for this bad business behavior and be a sheep and just take it? Edited September 19, 2013 by speckfire Speed is life !!!
GeorgeLKMT Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 This is horrible. I really should have spent those money in cinema to see some 2hr movie with a medium popcorn and coke instead of buying this horrible product that gives me thousands hours of entertainment. I'll buy some game with 5hr campaing next time. Thanks Obama! ■ L-39C/ZA Czech cockpit mod ■ My DCS skins ■
EagleEye Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 Actually, I purchased the Mi-8 at full price because I was confident that BST learned from last time. Since no one from BST said anything about that topic back then I really had no hope they would do it different with Mi-8... I´m sorry for you guys. robin_wkh Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 wow, Wonderful moment for me about the discount!!!!!! I really enjoy dcs games ,if i have much more money , i would be glad to pay full price for any dcs games.
Chelco Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 Yeah, whatever. It's just money and yet another groundhog day. But, is this company in trouble or something? Quite unusual to have such a deep discount on a product that came out just 15 days ago. Real and Simulated Wars
ALDEGA Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 Sorry, but you know: this is how the market worksThe market consists of demand and supply. Demand is partially based on past experiences. How many people will buy the next DCS modules at full price, knowing they may be sold with a high discount (40-60%) just a few weeks later? Moreover, since the number of modules being released in the next 18 months is (said to be) relatively high (for DCS norms), it'll become increasingly more difficult to sell modules at "full" price (~= 50$) anyway.

Save Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 Kudy... 2 weeks after ... It's should be serious a little (especially from you who have the title : ED Testers Team) ... ED and 3rd party have not Stream power to support a long time this kind of usage...
Kuky Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 I am sorry but how does temporary sale price affect reputation on delivery of quality product???? Amen. I bought every product from ED and partners so far at full price but im not gonna get fooled again. I feel bad for ED because its BELSIMTEK here that makes me put my hand on my wallet for all future DCS products.
Flying Penguin Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 They may want to attract more customers, but they will probably reduce the number willing to buy at full price next time.
