NeilWillis Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 Whose business is it, really? That is exactly my point. If you can wiggle a stick, and put ordnance down range, does it matter what kind of genitalia you possess, or where you choose to aim said tickle tackle?
Vampyre Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 I've known a number of female pilots but they all drove real airplanes... F-14',s F/A-18's, and EA-6B's. Oh, and the ladies aren't the only ones you get funny looks from when you leave the house with a TIR reflector on your head... Truly superior pilots are those that use their superior judgment to avoid those situations where they might have to use their superior skills. If you ever find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck! "If at first you don't succeed, Carrier Landings are not for you!"
Darkwolf Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 Yet it can't be considered as her kind of game, My wife occasionnally fly DCS. She prefers strategy and of course... the sims. :) but I bought her a cheap hotas and she gladly flies the Su25T, Mig29 and since my home cockpit is a twin seater, sometimes we fly together and she flies the A10-"D" while I take care of sensors, and she use the Ka-50 weapon system while i fly it. :pilotfly: She did some GCI with Dart module too. Kaktus29 Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 my god, can you imagine the real world acting like we are.. Woman pilot in F-18 flying somewhere asks AWACS for Refueling coordinates AWACS dude: wow, hei youuu, so whats your name, what carrier do you come from..can i visit, buy you a drink, will you marry me?!.. Woman pilot: aaaam, lets put a pin on that one, and again can you give me coordinates to the tanker please.. AWACS dude: ohhh so the dude from refueling is good for ya ha? but not me? .. tough luck, no coordinates! )) Woman pilot: oh god this is DCS all over again..
EtherealN Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 my god, can you imagine the real world acting like we are.. I know of one case where a female pilot was ignored by the airbase during desert storm, since they were waiting to hear from a male... The real world isn't always better. :P (There also was some funny stories about what happened when female pilots conducted delivery flight to some places that had an interesting perspective to female pilots. :D ) Agreed though. Its not going to be easy to get women more involved (and thus potentially double the market for DCS modules...) since there sadly are issues with women getting either harassed or just flooded with attention, leading to discouragement. Doesn't have to be with evil intent, though. I think Matt has the same problem - show up on an open server under own name, and suddenly lots of people want to talk to him and he doesn't have a chance to just play the game like anyone else. :P (I would also suspect that half of people would just accuse him of being an impostor, too... :D ) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Daniel "EtherealN" Agorander | Даниэль "эфирныйн" Агорандер Intel i7 2600K @ 4.4GHz, ASUS Sabertooth P67, 8GB Corsair Vengeance @ 1600MHz, ASUS GTX 560Ti DirectCU II 1GB, Samsung 830series 512GB SSD, Corsair AX850w, two BENQ screens and TM HOTAS Warthog DCS: A-10C Warthog FAQ | DCS: P-51D FAQ | Remember to read the Forum Rules | | | Life of a Game Tester

Grim_Smiles Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 my god, can you imagine the real world acting like we are.. LOL sometimes the real world does act like that. But like gamers in general though, not just simmers. I know female FPS players personally who use masculine sounding gamertags and voice changers to avoid the idiots on those finding out they are female. A shame really. The MMORPG world can be funny about that as well, though sometimes in different ways. The MMO gamer guild I'm with has had a number of female players over the years. They usually just stuck with our guild's teamspeak, never bothered going into other ones much. The amusing thing is, often times those outside the guild who never heard our female members on teamspeak often assumed they were just men playing female avatars. In fact it was often a running joke that MMORPG stood for Many Men Online Role Playing Girls. One female guild member told us that a guild she was with on another MMO game refused to believe she was female until she proved it on voice chat lol. Of course once the jig is up sometimes stupid things happened, though at least never with our guild (we didn't care) so the women stuck around. I guess I've never seen the point in making a big deal since I'm there to game and not date, I prefer logging off to go find women  "Hurled headlong flaming from the ethereal sky; With hideous ruin and combustion down; To bottomless perdition, there to dwell; In adamantine chains and penal fire" (RIG info is outdated, will update at some point) i5 @3.7GHz (OC to 4.1), 16GB DDR3, Nvidia GTX 970 4GB, TrackIR 5 & TrackClip Pro, TM Warthog HOTAS, VKB T-Rudder Mk.IV, Razer Blackshark Headset, Obutto Ozone

RIPTIDE Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 I still remember explaining across the speaker phone to my Ex that Naggin' Nadia in the Su-27 was not a real woman in my house at the time when she sounded off about G/angle of attack overlimits or whatever. Yep, true story. THe conversation lasted about 4 mins.. I had to send her a Utube link to FC2 footage that had the same sounds. That was fun. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
