1.2.7 open beta poor performance

Hmm interesting bitmaster, I've never had issues on the VA server in 1.2.6 but then again a critic would think I'd say that anyway lol

Not fps stuttering anyway, there is sometimes abit of lag but that's down to how many people are on and their own net connections as well.

We keep an eye out for that specifically on our server anyway.

Looks like I've managed to aquire an nvidia card to use in the short term will try it tonight and report back

It seems like it is machine dependent if not all suffer the same symptom, aka not server bound.

It was way better on 1.2.6 since the stutter only appeared in dense scenes and I could always fly away or point myPOV elsewhere and regain fps and avoid stutter. Maybe it was just a bad night with a bad line. We will see tonight ;)

I just asked a few Pilots flying on my Testserver ( P-51 Missions ) and they say they have no issues whatsoever hmmm. makes me wonder haha

Gotta go, RL calls

later tonight

Have you guys tried the holding mouse button down trick? Alot of people even with nvidia cards are suffering from low fps and microstuttering but when you hold down either left or right mouse button the FPS goes up with 30 to 50%.

Might help..

nope its serious, some people suffering a huge improvement in frames just by holding down a mouse button.

There is another thread on the main boards for it

I am at work at the moment, will try it later

yeah, i have this "mouse-button" problem as well....a quick fix for now for me was to use the little program joytokey and with switching a switch on my warthog throttle, it now emulates my mouse wheel button...of course this is only a workaround, but at least for now it works and one can enjoy the improvements in 127, or at least hunt the other bugs...

Your RAM is below min specs. 6GB is the min.

I know but:

I'm running all at low, except textures (medium), AA (4x), HDR (Cold) and I have the same FPS as 1.2.6, 40-60.

I also noticed, already in 1.2.6, that when I see nav lights, i lose 1-2 FPS.

A large enough mission will cause you issues, we cant use your results if you dont meet the minimum specs, I hope this makes sense.

I have no issues with the game, I was just replying to pman...

I can report, that if I hold down the mouse button, then I get the same FPS as in 1.2.6 for the Su25-T. Another thing I noticed is that the ingame FPS meter behaves strangely - it shows a frequent variation of 60 to 50 FPS in my case, whilst if I hold down the mouse button it stays stable at 60.

Beta patch stutters like hell for me

Unfortunately I feel they have taken a big step back with this patch. I have lost nearly 8 FPS down to 52 FPS from 60FPS. But worst still and something I thought I had seen the last of micro stutters are back for me. Totally ruins the Sim for me when I am constantly getting micro stutters on the map and also trackir. I though the patch was supposed to increase the FPS not make things worse. i hope they don't release in this state because I'll have to walk away from the game if they do.

First: It's a Volunteer Open Beta, if you're just gonna fly it and complain without submitting anything constructive, well, it's counter-productive to the point of the open beta.

Second: Improved FPS specifically isnt in the Changelog, a few effects were changed to allow better FPS Specifically CBU-83/103.

Third: Search Function, There was no need to start a new thread for this. (Merged).

Fourth: It isn't released in this state, it's an Open Beta, not a Release candidate.

So posting that there are micro stutters and a drop of 8FPS is not submitting anything constructive? If problems are not reported how are they going to be fixed? Yes I may of posted it in the wrong place, but that's all. One of the testers have said it is a mouse problem and thanks to him that is what was causing it for me. But how would I have found that out without posting?

The problem is that you flew a beta patch and expected release performance.

If you want a problem free experience, DO NOT touch an open beta.

You just posted about performance issues and offered no DXDIAG or anything to link back to the problem, which is not helpful. Simply saying it's broke fix it, or i lost performance fix it isnt going to provide information for anything.

There's a Poor Performance Thread Already Open in the DCS 1.2.7 Open Beta Forums, which has the Mouse Issue primarily discussed.

It's not really where you posted it, but the Manner that you conveyed the problem.

Nothing more, nothing less.

Have a Nice Day.

Found this workaround useful for the FPS spikes till it gets fixed, turn clicklock on and then once in-sim just hold left button for a few moments and you're good to go
