Flying Penguin
Yay! Very smart move... I'm assuming, as the title has not changed, it's not going to require re-purchase for existing owners but it would be nice to get official confirmation. ED Team Wags Posted January 23, 2014 ED Team Share Posted January 23, 2014 Just to be even more clear: This is the same as the FC3 version you are all familiar with, the key/only difference is that we now can legally sell it sans-Lock On. This will also allow us to sell the product world wide on Steam and other digital distribution outlets. When the final version of 1.2.7 is released, existing owners of FC3 will also no longer need a Lock On installation. lanmancz
Well, good news I guess but it could have been announced sooner that release of the whole FC3 bundle as a LockOn free DCS module was in the pipeline. So far I understood that FC3 will always require LockOn and the only way to get the planes LockOn free was to get the individual modules one by one. So I already bought A10A and SU25 and was waiting for the standalone F15 to be the next one to buy. So now if I buy the whole DCS FC3 pack I will have the A10A and SU25 licenses twice. Can I at least give them to a friend ? ED Team Wags Posted January 23, 2014 ED Team Share Posted January 23, 2014 A. Question someone wanted me to ask: Will current keys be available to be "activated on steam", when FC3 is digitally released on Steam? There is no reason why we should not be able to do a key merge with the Steam database once DCS:FC3 is available on Steam world-wide.
