Garmin GNS-530
BrianTheBrain replied to BrianTheBrain's topic in Flyable/Drivable Mods for DCS World
Yep, thats directly the next feature. Currently, it pulls from the units mission editor waypoints to autocreate waypoints (and will bind mission waypoints for stuff like start/landing to the airdrome's name, or any nonmistakingly close VORs. -
PSVR2 - now works with Eye Tracking and Quad Views!
Cytarabine replied to proxlamus's topic in Virtual Reality
This entirely. The fact that the next step up is honestly something like a Pimax Crystal Super says a lot. A DP headset with dynamic foveated rendering, a wide field of view and acceptable sharpness for the money is a great deal, and makes the PSVR2 a good choice for people who want to enjoy VR in DCS and don’t feel prepared to drop large amounts of money just yet. As PS5 users get sick of the lack of new content it might lead to some good used deals as well. The QP is a good option for some other aspects. It undoubtably provides a somewhat sharper cockpit (the full RGB stripe display means that while the resolution is slightly lower each pixel has independent sub pixels unlike the pentile arrangement) at equivalent resolutions to the PSVR2, however the trade off is that with compression you get less detail in the distance and compression artefacts. The more you increase the bitrate, use encoding like HEVC 10bit or double pass encoding the more overhead there is and the less the benefit of being able to get away with less supersampling helps. I also find the eye tracking more accurate in the PSVR2, in the QP I will frequently look into the region that is low resolution before it catches up, that basically never happens in the PSVR2. Ultimately I think before the introduction of DFR the PSVR2 was a tough ask for DCS. You needed to pump so many pixels that it was tough to run without making major sacrifices. Now with combining DFR and DLSS with the transformer model the performance to run 90fps+ at high supersampled resolutions is there for those with high end systems. -
The beacon. If you press it it overrides WP/AD. Press it again to deselect it

Reshade VR Enhancer Mod (VREM)
mkel2010 replied to lefuneste01's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
I think I've got Reshade set up correctly. That said, Alt-F5 does nothing in-game. -
No problem! I am using your model with great success. Really changes the feel of airfields and GDR training airspace on my server. I was just curious as I wanted to put it into an easily accessible modpack for REDFOR players. Once again, great job, and thank you!

Military Assets for DCS by Currenthill
Floyd1212 replied to currenthill's topic in Static/AI Mods for DCS World
Here is a mission with a working BUK M3 site using the semi-active TELARs. The player aircraft is an Apache, and is set to invulnerable. Feel free to swap in your favorite ride. I did test it without the CC vehicle or TR, and it still launched on me. CurrentHill BUK M3 Test.miz -

as long the users can add their own waypoints missing actual database should be no problem. Or simply add the ones from the NS430

Does DCS benefit bigly from OLED?
Hiob replied to Beirut's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
In all seriousness. Forget about the “burn in” fear mongering. My OLED (48” LG TV) is almost 4Y and has zero burn in. Apart from that, investing in a big OLED was the single best hardware upgrade I ever did. it is just awesome. You don’t even realise how bad LCDs are (in color and contrast) until you used an OLED. However, the perfect contrast may mercilessly expose any bad picture (e.g. banding is even more noticeable). Especially when you usually play at night or in a dark room, you will absolutely love OLED. (Of course that’s my personal subjective opinion, but I think recommending OLED is as save a bet as it can be) p.s. going big is probably also a big part of the great experience. That’s why I went for a TV, it’s much cheaper when you go big. -
Neither do I, but surely you see that was not the point. A product was sold based on promised made (what’s listed on the product page), and those promised were not kept or only partially kept. The default F-16 looks like a plastic toy, at best. Anyway, I didn’t mean to start up that entire discussion again. There are already other threads about it…

High Digit SAMs - A community asset pack for DCS World
Jab82 replied to Auranis's topic in DCS Modding
Hello, I hope you can help me, but first I wanted to say a big thank you to all the modders who make DCS even better. Here's my problem: I've never been able to install HighDigitSAMs 2.1.0. I always get a desktop error while loading the game, but no problem with the older 2.0.1 version. I also have the same problem with HighDigitSAMs-Ultimate-Compilation-1.4.3, even though I've uninstalled all the mods that need to be removed. Do you know of any other incompatible mods? Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me. Jab82 -
ED, we need help as this module have been abondonned by Polychop
hannibal replied to peeter's topic in SA-342M Gazelle
Im sad that the healthy of a module comes down to community trying to petition to keep a module healthy. I agree with @peeter! Im not sure ED has source code..but I hope there will be fixes for this great module and modules Long live gazelle! -
Title says it all. I'm looking at new monitor options, which is kind of like like doing algebra, and I was curious about DCS & OLED. Aside from cost, burn-in, and any other uses for the screen, 95% of my interest is simply how DCS looks with it. I have a very nice 27" 1440p monitor now and I'm curious about the change/upgrade to OLED, be it 27" or 32". Thank you.

And like that you should get something like an automatic setup for radial interception which can countinue with VFR or IFR landings. Pardon if my brainstorming is not correct.

Same here. I only fly with user created liveries (including the ones created by you), and some liveries that i edit with more details and stuff for private use.

As far as i know the HSI double white arrow points at the WP and the single yellow one points at the beacon

There is one thing I still don't quite understand. How does it work when you select both a beacon and a waypoint ? What is then is actually depicted on the hud and HSI?
-
I don't use any of the default stuff anyway. So, for the most part all the "missing" stuff is not missing anymore. So much work has been done that it's basically that way.
