  2. Welcome to DCS Yes that’s what recenter does with TrackIR, very handy. The only improvement suggestion I could make would be to remap that to an easier to find key or stick button than F12. But if that works for you don’t fix what ain’t broke
  3. The latest AMD graphics cards are really good, especially for the money. So a 9060XT (or 9070XT if you’re willing to pay a bit more) is a very good choice for those on a budget. I’d still be on AMD myself if the Varjo Aero wasn’t nvidia-only.

I don't understand why people here list all their broken work arounds - this problem needs to be fixed - period! - all you do by listing this endless list of broken work arounds is to suppress the report and the problem. There are currently 4 problems in VR: 1. terrible almost unplayable shimmering with DLSS off 2. terrible almost unplayable enemy aircraft ghosting and hard to spot aircrafts with DLSS on - also with latest 310.4.0 and preset K 3. double aircraft rendered in close range dog fights - even with DLSS and MSAA both off. 4. unplayable FSR or NIS, since aircraft often literally become invisible in sky. These problems SHOULD BE FIXED - trying to play DCS without stuttering, ghosting, or shimmering, should not be an idiotic form of black art.

  7. This is also my experience: I’ve never seen GPU usage higher than 92-94% in VR. If I were actually GPU limited, usage would be 98-99+.
  8. Sorry, half of the OP is questionable (to put it politely). 17+h downloads and router hickups - sounds like a you-problem to me. "chewing up harddrive life"? - welcome to 2025..... DCS doesn't hit the SSD any harder than any other big game. Ever glanced over to MSFS? Flightsims are hardware hungry? - Headline worthy news, really. It has been like this since Falcon 3.0 on a 100 MB harddrive.....
  9. Most new people I am sure would rather find out for themselves, and that is the beauty of the free trials, DCS can be experienced for free.
  10. How do you figure that the GPU can't keep up? It is much more likely that the CPU hits a wall with calculations. Especially in VR, the CPU is much more a limiting factor.
  11. agree, but I also wonder if keeping users that spread misinformation on this forum, isn’t actually making prospective new users avoid trying out DCS on the first place

  14. Okay but then is your problem with TJ radar or the R-77? Where have you read or seen that R-77 cannot be used STT?
  15. I would rather buy a used 3080 (12GB) or 4080, than one of the original options. That said, I would probably opt for AMD in this day and age. The 5000 series and the latest bad drivers from NVIDIA are really a slap in the face of someone that is really still very deeply in love with the 1080ti (GOAT). Apart from the 5090, which at least has decent performance (but for what cost) the 5000 series is really, really bad compared to older GeForce generations. Add the cut off PhysX to the mix... (gone are the days of backwards compatibility)....
  16. There are different people and some also have the same dream to fly. If there is no more money, there is simply no more money or they don't want to spent more. So there's no use to comments like "none, buy better card". Not all have to run 4K at 120Hz and there are graphic options for a reason. I'd take faster card over more VRAM any day.
  17. That's a shame. Random weather condition for every mission start would be a real nice feature to increase immersion.
  18. I'd stick with mbucchia's quadviews for now until Pimax optimizes its own implementation. Didn't notice any hit in performance in my OG Crystal with latest PP + Pimax OpenXR + mbucchia's quadviews.
  19. I was very pleased by your words, and by the fact that thanks to my text, we might have one more fan of the F-16. Especially since I'm reading them the day after the fatal accident involving the Polish pilot — flying in the livery I often use myself in DCS. I was supposed to go to the air show with my son tomorrow, but due to these unfortunate events, that won't be possible. I'm glad I could help. @Sparviero1978

  24. Unfortunately that level of realism cannot be achieved with todays VR headsets. But thinking of Matrix I envy trinity for just downloading the helo skills in seconds.
  25. Good day, fellow Supercarrier lovers! So I've been away from DCS for around six months and now I'm back with a new mobo, cpu, gpu, new W11 + DCS installation and thought I'd come and see how this is going. It really is not my intention to annoy anyone; but, again, on my system I am unable to reproduce this issue. If anything, I have to ask whether something has changed, as the lighting seems to have improved. All carrier lights are easily visible (bearing in mind the resolution constraints of my Quest Pro) from a very long distance away. I'd say it's back to how it used to be years ago, perhaps unrealistically bright, but great imho for vr flight simming. I include my settings in case they help anyone. I am using Link with a cable for the connection and QuadViews Foveated. Again, I'm sorry if this annoys anyone, it really isn't my intention, I'm just intrigued as to why I have never seem the overbright carrier you are (were?) all seeing. Incidentally, after touching down, the landing lights unfortunately seem to cause the foveated area to ocassionally flash so I see a bright yellow square (not shown below), but that's a matter for another topic.
