Map used in the kneeboard images
Reflected replied to MagicSlave's topic in F-4E Red Flag 81-2 Campaign
Thanks! It’s the ‘map’ layer of the in game F10 map -
I’ve done some testing, I can see from your photos you have Easy Communications On and are pressing the / key to open up the ‘Auto’ menu for communications in both cases. The problems I was having was using the hardbound COM1 and COM2 with easy coms off. I’m not sure if this still is an issue but I’m happy to use Easy Comms just for this campaign if it solves the problem, thanks.

Just an update. I reset the DCS settings as you advised and while my graphics look crisper (especially at 24K in the viper) the apache crashed again when I switched to rockets. I'll try the other suggestions and keep you posted! Thanks for the help. I've attached the new crash file as well. dcs.log-20250907-215416.zip

With help from Justin A., I got my DED put together and working. It seems that the code is a bit off. Having issues with no 5th line of text on any page and the list page does not have highlighted letters as it should and the is an extra display of 3 As at the end. This is the code I am using. It seems the mission file is corrupted. The mission was generated by the Briefing Room web site. I have others generated for the same map (Syria) that don't have this problem.

Not true - I tested F-14A, B and Hornet. No issue. So I tested also loaded S-3B. Still no issue. Sorry, no bug here.

Great Mod, I now have enough free time to try it out. A small bug report: I noticed that the Mod includes a Ladder as static object, its type is VSN F104 Crewladder, so I tried it out but found that its textures are missing ... perhaps they are on one of the other F-104 mods?

Spawned Farp doesn't refuel/rearm
razo+r replied to Fabiano-VIKING's topic in Scripting Tips, Tricks & Issues
Generally you should also place some of the required logistic units next to it for rearming and refueling. Also make sure you are calling the cround crew either with open canopy or with the correct intercom button. -

Hi folks, I've been experimenting with the CTLD script and I "revamped" the spawned FOB through the CTLD menu (Logistics → FOB Crates → FOB Spawning). I used several of the newer assets to make it look nicer (to my taste). The point is: I'm spawning an invisible FARP at the location so players within the vicinity of the FOB can also rearm and refuel. The FARP spawns correctly, but when trying to rearm or refuel, I don't get any "copy" message — nothing happens. Here is the piece of code that I've been using to spawn the FARP part: local _id12 = ctld.getNextUnitId() local _helipad = { ["category"] = "Heliports", ["shape_name"] = "invisiblefarp", ["type"] = "Invisible FARP", ["y"] = _point.z + 20, ["x"] = _point.x + 25, ["name"] = "FOB - POSTO AVANÇADO #" .. _id12, ["heading"] = 0, ["country"] = _country, ["hidden"] = false, ["visible"] = true, } mist.dynAddStatic(_helipad) Am I doing something wrong? Thank you.

This isnt a dcs problem. I cant get it run half life alyx for more than 10 min at a time. it crashes back to steam vr home. Alyx is probably the most refined, optimize and stable vr game ever developed its an S tier VR experience that run great on a 2080 and a G2. If it wont run stable this seem like maybe a hardware issue. is there a pimax log I can look at? is there a way to figure this out other than letting friend try it on their system?

Question about drop tanks. The documentation says to set the FUEL_TANK_CAPACITY to the internal fuel tank total including external tanks. So if I run the Corsair with 2x 150 Gal drop tanks, I should set this to 537. When I do this it's now reading that I have 1227 gallons with the drop tanks equipped. If I unequip the drop tanks in the same mission, the script displays 537 gallons. If set the fuel capacity in the script back to 237, the internal fuel level, and then attach 2 150 gallon tanks, it reads 541 gallons. That's still not exactly correct but it's close. So should that value only be set to the internal tank capacity?

All of a sudden, Varjo Aero not detected
lefuneste01 replied to Jarhead0331's topic in Virtual Reality
I has the same issue, solved only by restoring a full backup of my system disk. The USB trick did not work for my problem. But GPatricks wrote in Varjo discord ”I had a similar issue some time ago, after removing the VB and all Varjo related folders, deleted anything to do with Varjo in the Registry. Reinstalled, all was well.” Maybe it can help you ? -
Thanks for all this. I'll work through it and yes it only happens when I switch from hellfires to rockets every time...and only in mission 1. I'm gonna start with the easy DCS settings first!! Thanks again.
-
Thanks, Draconus, now I know what you're talking about. System: lut off; Well, after a few small adjustments here and there, it looks like the image on my HP.G2. A few more adjustments in Open XR Toolkit, and I should be able to do it. But honestly, it's taking a long time to set up. Thanks again for your help. Have a good flight.
-
They come from flight manual which only lists referring missile launch from Nike Hercules, and warnings about overspill from radar. If western RWR can detect Sparrow launch, the SPO-15 with automatic setting should also!

I’m aware KOLS with radar ranging wouldn’t show IFF. But after you press lock a second time and it transitions to STT radar leading? Under interaction mode…. I was also trying to figure out what this highlighted passage says

Have several maps loaded w/ livery appropriate A-4E's on the USS Forrestal (CVA 59), CarDiv 2, TF 77, 1967. Unusable with the current issue as 1/4 of every flight goes swimmin' off the #3 Cat. This is not Rocket-surgery. Bowie
