Yep, because, you know, ED regularly has pre-orders for planes that never get released

Spark plug fouling may manifest itself by slightly reduced power. The other stuff, you cannot really meter/monitor the degradation besides the sound the engine makes. If you hear strange noises, like banging, perhaps chugging or other strange noises, chances are that it's too late and the degradation is already quite advanced. The only thing you can activly do however is to prevent degradation in the first place by always staying within the limits and clear the plugs from time to time.

Last night played a convoy mission to protect convoy from ambush Laid down tons of rounds with minigun and m60, expending so many rounds just to eliminate troops. A few troops still firing rockets at convoy after taking barage of fire Just like Ai helicopters taking a bunch of AIM9s in the face..I hope there is some tweaking to how Ai infantry and other Ai targets takes damage

Is there anyway to notice or meter the degradation? I don't have much experience in the game but i have'nt noticed something like that unless i took hits to the aircraft and engine

I dont under stand when he says in the second post you linked to: "On the controller board we find two contacts labeled "BOOT"..." What controller board is he talking about? I can't recognize anything like that inside my collective. I think indeed a firmware reboot of my device would help, but I can't figure out how to do it. Because the VPC Programs and Windows joy.cpl won't respond to the device properly.

I have high hopes this will be implemented when they release the free one, and hopefully trickle over to the T. Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk

@BIGNEWY just wondering if there is an update to the bug where the data link doesnt work when starting the aircraft cold. Starting the apache hot it seems to work just fine but only if the other party also started their aircraft hot. Thanks

An easy fix could be using tiny fonts and a button bind for a semi fullscreen view the map to quickly check information. It would be a compromise, but easier than proper scaling and decluttering techniques. But seeing that they didn't bother yet to fix the screen export map bug (for years now), I wouldn't expect too much effort on this.

That's correct. If you know this, you can achieve the point when the stall is impossible. Even at 0 airspeed. I call it "decellerated stall"
-
I just use the 4 second fuse. As that's what suits my low level attack. I can do some test with plugged nose and 5 second fuse next week.

Is it possible to turn off the SC deck lighting at night?
obious posted a topic in DCS: Supercarrier
I’m running a Quest Pro and a RTX4090 and with my current settings, I can get 90fps on the maps I fly (Persian Gulf, Nevada). However, one thing that always hammers my frames is the SC at night, specially when the deck lighting/illumination comes on. Anyone know how to turn it off at all? Is it even possible? Thanks -
I am struggeling to find the second link you mentioned. I just downloaded what I found below and loaded .fx files into /Bazar/shaders/model but DCS still crashes (see log file) 2) DCS 2.8 does not need anything else, but In order for the Mod to work on the older DCS 2.7 (and 2.5.6), (EDIT: and also needed on DCS 2.9 and newer) it requires the addition of two small files on the /Program Files/Eagle Dynamics/ path. Download this fix from this link: https://1drv.ms/u/s!Ai6cuX3YQI26h9JDq-My2YN2UBxBCw?e=SYjG3G dcs.log

you’re kinda missing the point here. The Mi-24P’s doppler map is a mess because the font for course, distance, and ETE is way too big and doesn’t scale. It’s not about wanting tiny text I’d need a magnifying glass. The campaign route’s totally normal (in fact it's big long route), and the map’s failing at giving clear info, which is a big deal for navigation. Saying you’ve never had an issue doesn’t change the fact that this is a clear, repeatable problem. So I don't understand your answer dismissing the problem. It is a bad design that causes issues. I would say that clipping marks are a bug indeed. The intention of the post is to request a revision of the design so that the font scales better for all types of routes.

There must be some kind of degradation model if it’s possible to overheat with prolonged usage at WEP. If you weren’t already aware, there is a random failures option that can be enabled within ME. Additionally, you can set a plane wear level. One thought is that the game will by default assume that at the start of any mission, you’ll have a brand new engine in tip top condition.

There apparently is spark plug fouling modeled so you have to clear the plugs in a regular interval when running in eco settings. Hot temperature also degrade the engine as well as too cold oil, at least at start. No, FOD is not modelled, so you can use RAM air at any given time without fear of damaging the engine.

I tried replaying capture traffic and that worked for displaying colors but unfortunately not for text

The 99-knot stall speed for the P-47 (flaps up) applies to level, 1 g flight, where the wings must generate lift equal to the aircraft’s full weight. Stall is fundamentally an angle-of-attack phenomenon, not a specific speed. The published stall speed is simply the speed at which that critical angle of attack is reached in a 1 g, steady-state condition. If the aircraft is unloaded — for example, near the top of a zoom climb or during the pitch-over from vertical — the required lift is much less than its weight. That means the wing can maintain the necessary (lower) angle of attack at a much lower airspeed, so you can see IAS values well below 99 kts without stalling. In your example, if the P-47 went pure vertical, then pitched over into level flight, it would be in a near-ballistic or very low-g state for part of the maneuver. In that state, the “stall speed” number doesn’t apply, and the aircraft can regain speed with minimal altitude loss — even with bombs and rocket racks attached — as long as there’s enough initial energy and thrust to carry it through.

Yes I use the tail, (actually nose/tail) switch, (down),and the 5 sec delay dosn't delay. It will go off instantly. Using the nose plugged, (up) swith will also detonate instantly. Are you saying yours works OK? The 4 sec nose fuse works OK, as the pics show.

Hi i am interested in finding the GAME engine limitations. Since this is not a real plane& engine and we don’t have to bother about engine hours and overhauls From limited testing and playing around i noted the following: There is no limit to running the engine at military power as long as the temps don't cross the red line for too long. running the engine at “low” rpm vs MP can destroy it without warning, the ratio is somewhat obscured but on the other hand there is no limitation on running rpm at 3000 for the entire flight with the only drawback of fuel economy WEP - i am unsure if there is a hard limitation on running the engine in WEP. I did broke the engine while running it in wep but i am not sure if it was because of temps or something else. Any insights will be appreciated Also i have 2 questions that I couldn’t find the answers for: Is there some sort of engine degradation modeled in the game, and if so what causes it? is FOD modeled in the game? Or more practically can i damage my engine during taxi and takeoff if i use ram air? would like to know if anyone have some insights or more information on the subject thanks

Try searching for access/maintenance panels or something like that in the controls.
