Our LITENING appears to be a mix of II and G4 versions, the latter of which has optical zoom. I think the version in DCS was actually supposed to be a G4, but the docs were incomplete.
-
-
Keep in mind the zoom on the LITENING pod isn't digital like it should be (like on the ATP), making it unrealistically good. The ATP also has multi-track and an IR pointer.
-
I hope so. If its that ridiculous brown smudge effect used for the MIG 21 “nukes” or the MOAB in the AC-130 original mod, forget it. I’m not purchasing it.

I put a Next Level Flight seat on my Obutto frame.
Zadren replied to Headwarp's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Hiya. Thanks so much for posting this. My Obutto Revolution seat has also given up the ghost after about a decade. It was never very comfortable to begin with, but I've also banjaxed my shoulder and now it's just painful to sit there. I was looking at the Next Level seat, but couldn't suss out if it would fit the Obutto frame. Now I know. I have a Thrustmaster EVO fitted to the Obutto stick mount. Do you foresee any issues with that, or will I end up making changes here, too? Can you say what size bolts/washers I'll need to fit and where, so I can prepare? Cheers -
I understand the technical differences between the pods, tell me which one you actually prefer though Which one do you actually think is better? The zoom is so much nicer on the litening pod, and that actually makes it much more usefull for me for A2A and A2G purposes. There are very few uses of the advanced features of the SNIPer, that are both usable, and necessary, at the lower ranges it can be used for. Tell me a use case that the SNIPer can do, that the LITENING can't, I'm really curious.

Tested a bit more and have another interesting track - first Phoenix was guiding OK for 2min 10s but then stopped while having me in sight just 6nm away. Why? Second Phoenix was guiding only first 20s and then stopped. I don't think I was outside launcher's radar FOV. At 30-40nm range and M3+ I'd expect Phoenix to be lethal vs my sloppy defense, but somehow, they just stop guiding. What is happening here? AIM-54C-stop-guiding.zip.acmi AIM-54C-stop-guiding.trk

Correct. It is a fire and forget weapon. The H is a "digital TV" guided CCD. This is a classic case for uploading a track for people to see what's going on.
-
I agree! Please keep it going, so nice

I understand. Now I just have to wait for the ED to implement the amendment. I wonder if I'll live to see it. @Raven (Elysian Angel) Corrected.

On this page an mi8 Pilot from the east german NVA explains all the systems in high detail. Its worth to take a look at it. You can translate IT via Google etc. He always compares systems of the Mi8 and the Mi24. On this page the Greben KM2 system is discussed in detail. http://www.nva-flieger.de/index.php/technik/instrumente/kreisel.html He says that MK is the mode to go and gyro was only a backup Mode in case of MK failure, f.e. in case of nuklear warefare and the persumed loss of the MK.

Is the AH-6 back on the board??? -
1) LOAL and LOBL switched so the interface shows one but he says the other 2)store tgt works but LOS search (long aft) safes the weapon instead of recalling tgt 3)sometimes finds tgt and even when close, he says it's too far my track file is too big. is there a track editor i can use to shorten it?

It was in pre order video, but small, first part only: but in reality it is quite a large mushroom:

I don't want to be more specific, but there are some political developments IRL that might make updating Sinai, Persian Gulf, Iran, Kola even Caucasus interesting. I hope we don't need a CW Germany II map somedays.

The AGM-65H is supposed to be a fire-and-forget missile, not a beam-rider right? Then why is it that often times when I launch and then turn away the thing misses the target? I get lock with the TGP, slew to Mav page, make sure the Mav has lock, fire, bank-turn away, the missile missed my a mile. I don't get it. Isn't this thing supposed to home in by itself?

@Wags @BIGNEWY @NineLine Gents, quick question for ED. I pre purchased the C-130 and noticed in early access there was going to be the ability to walk around inside the aircraft and out upon release. I was under the impression ED was waiting on updated tech to accomplish this. Does this mean we could see the same for the CH-47 in a closer upcoming patch, or is this functionality for the ED modules still a ways out?

AIM-54C-MK60 launched by F-14B AI on me as target at 37nm distance. Missile takes 45 degree pitch up and goes for the stars (hitting 167kft ASL at apogee). While launcher had me ahead of him all the time (while dodging first fired Phoenix), looks like missile never guided. Looks like a bug to me. Track and tacview attached (Iraq map, can try to repro clean on Caucasus if needed). AIM-54C.zip.acmi AIM-54C.trk

You're right, there was indeed talk of the Balkans once by OnReTech, and I also think ORBX might surprise us with something else (+1 for Baltic region). Thanks.
