  1. Past hour
  2. It does that to me every other day or so and instead of restarting DCS and the IR software one user in the past gave great advice just unplug the USB wait few seconds and plug back in...that fixes it to me every time... worth a try...
  3. There are so many things that I personally would like to see. Cyclic ops is a no go IMHO as it is just too dynamic and the ins and outs are vast. There are so many variables. Keep in mind while all of this is happening, you have deck personnel of all colors going in every direction that you can think of, while trying to not get ran over, blown over or decapitated! I'll cut right to what I think could/should be implemented and would be within the scope of things. 1. Arm/De-arm of weapons. When an aircraft gets into position on the catapult, red shirted ordnance personnel have to arm the weapon BEFORE the launch bar engages the shuttle. When an aircraft traps, before the wings fold, those ordnance personnel line up aft of JBD 1 and 2 on one side, and an opposite line on the other. The aircraft clears the LA and stops just long enough for the arming pins to be inserted and missile caps to be put on. After that, the director tells the pilot to fold the wings and sends the aircraft to the parking spot. Another thing DCS doesn't simulate is proper parking. We usually send recovering aircraft to the bow, or to the Fighter line. Not aft to the fantail. That happens later! 2. Catapult end speed. Currently in DCS you can get shot off at any weight and any load. As I stated earlier, IRL the Shooters get a weight chit to calculate how much Oomph an aircraft will get to get airborne. There are many variations to aircraft weight, and they are usually close but still different as you can imagine. Contrary to what some think, burner shots don't always happen! I've seen more Mil shots than burner shots. That too is weight dependent. 5 wets' usually (obviously) use burner. Growlers are usually heavy also! 3. Better LSO interaction. I'd like the LSO to recognize a Touch and go from a bolter. More sugar calls. If I perform a CAT-trap-cat or want to have my own personal CQ session, I shouldn't have to contact CATCC every time. 4. Recovery tanker. There used to always be a recovery tanker circling overhead. Sometimes IMHO, the S-3 in game ventures way too far out. 5.Beter CATCC interaction. If you are bingo on the ball, CATCC directs you to the hawking tanker. 6.One Shooter one the bow and on the waist. Currently in DCS there are Shooters for each CAT. IRL there is one on the bow and one on the waist. Anything else would be a conflict. Simultaneous launches don't happen IRL. While there can be an aircraft going off of the waist and one off of the bow very near simultaneously, they are kept staggered for safety issues. Hence the clearing turns! They never go off of the bow at the same time, as I've seen in some Youtubers videos. When this is coordinated and authorized, a covey launch can be performed. This is an aircraft leaving the bow and leaving the waist nearly simultaneously. This is done to save time trying to form up with the wingman. But it has to be coordinated. 7. Last but not least, the Barricade. IDK if that's too much but I think it's way more doable than Cyclic flight ops! I'd like to see Helo ops, but I first would like to see a new helo model. Our SH-60 needs some love, or we need a new MH-60R/MH-60S! I hope I answered your questions. Please feel free to ask more.
  4. They finally managed an email that didn't sound like the product of an AI bot running on a Casio wristwatch. It's been on a shelf in Japan since it cleared customs 12th July and will now be shipped to me in "3 to 5 days". So that'll be at least a fortnight. New world record. One might think they've sold thousands of units to Japan, instead of the actual handful.
  5. Yesterday
  6. I believe F-35 in DCS will actually be great for MP. Looking forward to the succes of F-35 servers. It will attract lots of people not interested into realism, thus causing other servers to have more realism oriented average.
  7. Depends on the time frame. It would have made life much more difficult on the Allies on the Western Front and probably would have extended the life of the Luftwaffe. The lack of engagement against Single Engine Fighters was a huge mistake. SE Fighters are the instrument of Air Superiority and by May 1944 there was no safe haven even over their own airfields. It would have prolonged the war but not changed the outcome. Possibly even prolonging it enough for the Me262 to make more of an impact but nothing could change the outcome of the simply overwhelming armada arrayed against them. The Allies fielded bomber missions that contained more bombers than the Luftwaffe had fighters to shoot them down. Some of the raids in 1944, the Allies put more Aircraft in the sky than the entire Luftwaffe Fighter Forces on all fronts combined. This the Defense of the Reich strengths on 3 June 1944: The units we previously listed stationed in France were stripped away to deal with the Normandy landing further reducing the fighters available to fend off the Allied bomber campaign.
  8. Hey everyone, so my TrackIR froze mid mission tonight. I pulled up the software and it was still open and connected, and showing my head moving around. But when I went back to DCS it was still frozen. Closed and restarted TrackIR multiple times but couldn't get it to work. I know there's a way to pause TrackIR but I've never used it, and I didn't do anything when it froze. Anybody ever had this issue? Any ideas? Thanks in advance for any help. PS...I did recently update the TrackIR software...so that could be the culprit? But I'm not sure why it worked for an hour flawlessly before freezing.
  9. Yeah, it's not uncommon for prebuilts to bilk you for brand name CPU and GPU, while skimping on the mobo, RAM, and storage. If they only mention storage and RAM capacity, it's a good bet they'll be on the slower end.

If ED wants to continue using the phrase "the most detailed and realistic simulation" to describe the module, ED must fully implement carrier operations that is not a hard thing for ED to do, even if it means rebuilding the Supercarrier from scratch. We bought the Supercarrier because we trusted ED, and we're stating our opinions on the wish list. ED should not treat your customers' feelings with contempt.
  11. More data about that system: http://pwencycl.kgbudge.com/F/d/FD_fire_control_radar.htm https://www.ibiblio.org/hyperwar/NHC/NewPDFs/USN/USN Manuals and Reports/USN.Characteristics.Naval.Fire.Control.Radar.1954-11-12.pdf https://www.history.navy.mil/research/library/online-reading-room/title-list-alphabetically/u/operational-characteristics-of-radar-classified-by-tactical-application.html
  12. Earlier when I used OvGME to remove all my mods and the game still hung up,I did some digging. I found the Hercules mod sitting in plain sight there in my aircraft folder and also had it in another folder, on a different drive, that I use OvGME. So after removing all traces of the Hercules, the Superbug mod now works. Just being curious, I removed lines 179 and 180 from the Hercules loadout lua and went back into DCS. The Superbug flies, as well as the Hercules. I didn't have the time to go through and test the weapons and such or have both planes in the same mission but at least now I can fly the SuperBug. Thank you for your help.
  13. I too have seen this with 190s in the Beware, Beware campaign.
  14. For information only, a bit of an update after getting familiar with the Pico 4 Ultra and VD. These are my current setting in both DCS and VD where I am getting very good quality and 90fps steady. In VD under Streaming tab had to disable SSW. With SSW Always enabled or in Automatic I get smearing images on aircrafts a bit far away not clear. Best to keep it Disabled
  15. Would this also work with the OH-6A mod? Trying to get full feedback with weapons/skids etc. similar to the Huey but for the OH-6.
  16. I want to rebind the camera zoom (default is mouse wheel) to my VKB STECS thumb wheel axis but the option is greyed out in the "General" category and it DOES NOT EXIST AT ALL in the SU-25T category. I don't want to have to take my hands off the throttle and stick every dam time I want to change my view. This is very frustrating. I would have started a new post on this but apparently this forum is programed to give a big middle finger to new members.
  17. Well thing is with iPower you should check on what motherboard they use and what speed the RAM will be set at or capable of. I bought an older Ipower PC and the speed of the ram could not go higher then 2600 when 3200 was common..
  18. Through modding, you've been able to do all of this for nearly 10 years, so it's no surprise. The problem is that ED won't accept it because it lacks the necessary open-source information to implement it for modern naval guns (there was already a discussion about it on the Russian forum). For the time being, I wouldn't expect any progress until there's an official announcement.
  19. Did you hold the stick all the way back in both cases?
  20. Any chance for a portainer.io load for us mortals who are newer to docker? Not having much luck with the command-line.
  21. Not bad if then will be a future ASC module on a future.
  22. Try using the mouse, should be much more controllable. Different modifiers (Shift, Ctrl) will allow you to move the model differently.
  23. As far as Steam is concerned, ED is the developer. They don't have a special system in place for the unique shenanigans that is DCS.
  24. From the first post: This still holds true for now. If something major happens, this may change, but as it stands now, we are still in the same holding position, sorry.
  25. RIP Ozzy
  26. Chinook has actualy your propper CH-47F Shape EDM directory on Core Mods. I dont have that module to check the cockpit on the modelviewer on mods directory.
