  1. Past hour
  2. I tested it with a hot start and everything works. I'll test it with a cold start. null
  3. It's not an error. Steam shows -13% from EA price. ED store shows -30% from final release price.
  4. SOLVED
  5. You are correct. The other manual is a translation of the Yugoslavian L-18 manual, so includes chapters on combat use that GAF lacks.
  6. There are two things that keep me up at night about SPO-15 Let’s tell ED what we think! Most important, there are warning in manual and some pilot reports that radar can POSSIBLY overspill to RWR. But the manual doesn’t say it will happen only a warning that it might, and I have talked to pilots who said that they did not experience this. So it seems to me this is down to sync circuits being off, and possibly needing replacement or maintenance. Therefore, it should not be modeled as default this way in DCS MiG-29. second, there is supposition that it may not detect Fox 1 launch by F-14/15/18. The manual mentions being able to know when Nike Hercules has launched on it by its datalink signals, so that is the only one that can be confirmed. Some say F-14/15/18 don’t change illumination when firing Sparrow. But I was reading APG-65 manual the other day and there were lots of references to “PDI ( pulse Doppler illumination)” needing to be injected to both tune and guide the Sparrow. I am assuming perhaps that we may not be able to see Fox 1 launch on the “stock” ME setting but see it on the automatic one with the assumption that the details of this PDI have been loaded into it. But really, haven’t redfor suffered enough? Not even SPO-10 has RF overspill! The radar is only on 25% of the time! That should be no issue for sync circuits! Redfor has suffered and suffered. I would much prefer there were atleast options available for us to not have a RWR that can’t be used with radar or will not see Fox 1 launch (forcing us to rely on the estimated missile tag, that assumes they have fired on us at 3 bars signal strength and shows an approximate missile closure from that point, however useful that might be for longer range fox 3 shots). Interested if anyone has anything to add. And to show ED how much having a RWR that sees its own radar and can’t see missile launch would be ill received from a large portion of the player base expecting something that atleast does its job however imprecise! Su-27 manual also mentions possible interference from radar, but in addition to saying “POSSIBLE,” also says it can be solved by turning radar off and back on. I would be fine if this happens say every 10th radar cycle. But every time????
  8. According to my original VFR charts from 1989 there was no TRA204. It must therefore have been before 1989.
  9. Is there any difference in the two manuals? The NATO manual probably is the GAF manual that is also available from other sources, right? What is the other manual?
  11. nobody in particular, but the only evidence you have shown that i can see is with the A4E,, show a track with an F/A-18 or a Tomcat and you have yourself a different argument... my 0.02GBP
  12. Annoys me since long. Someone somewhere mentioned that before, but until now no reaction from ED side...
  13. Will LCDs work in VR? I want to look at them through the lower gap of my Quest
  15. I have responded to this post earlier, but just to add that I experienced the same overwhelming frustration when I first came to DCS, I would pull off a fantastic dogfight win only to discover, to my dismay, that the track 'replay' differed wildly from reality. Yes, one of the myriad of track breaking variables is the module in use. ED has said many, many times that the track replay system was never intended as a 'proper' replay system as in MSFS / X-Plane (et al) and until they have the development time to address the anomalies we simply have to live with the altered reality that is track replay.
  17. The Reverb headsets are good, and I ran one for years. I'd recommend the PSVR2 now, if you can stretch to it. The comfort is better (although subjective) and most importantly it can now do dynamic foveated rendering which will get you the most bang for the buck out of your current hardware.
  18. Today
  19. The one published by NATO
  20. indeed, that"s the solution Thanks Luckily I do have a suitable counterweight
  21. Nice!
  22. One manual is for sure the one from Alan Wise, but what is the other?
  24. This has already been mentioned, but check the regular price in the ED store and the discount amount. I've noticed (although it's also -13% in my country) that the actual discount compared to the regular price in EA is still around -30% (or slightly less), not -13%. This is some kind of error related to the currency converter. It's always better to go to the ED Store than Steam. It's less messy, and you can easily transfer your Steam account to the standalone DCS version without losing anything.
  25. Thanks Calvin! just watched this. Anyone tried it?
  26. It still happens a lot (like once or twice a year), that either the banking system of a single bank or whole payment systems fail for a longer period of time. In the worst case, no card payments are possible in every single local shop that uses this payment system. Or in the other case you have no access to your bank account. Can go on for a whole day or two, but usually it's fixed within a few hours. Often times some kind of update f*cks up the system.
  27. I spent the last week (majority of what was supposed to be a vacation) reading the Frank W Fischer books, particularly the stuff related to the cold war period. Very interesting, the only thing is that his time working as a controller he was working the higher flight level information regions, not the lower level stuff that most DCS sorties take place in. I did find some older layouts for the TRAs in West Germany but none from before the German reunion, which is a real bummer. From what it looks like though the TRA204 Eifel and the TRA205 Lauter did exist back in the 80s so I have decided to use the layout that was closest to the timeframe I was looking for, which is the layout from just before the TRA204 was closed down and 205 was adjusted. Not sure if this is more realistic or historically accurate but it's better than nothing for now.
