  3. Compared the runway headings for Hamburg, Pferdsfeld and Frankfurt and all all of by +10°. For example in DCS Hamburg is 342° in DCS and in real world it is 332° (Checked with Google Earth.) See also that the coordinates are ok, only the bearing is wrong. Is in Ugra's map the pole on the wrong position?
  4. Why not? I’ve read some accounts of the Falkland war and by all accounts it got pretty close to this with special forces sabotaging parked airplanes. I was reading a Combined Arms thread that mentioned Operation Flashpoint (Arma’s grandaddy) as an aspirational goal for CA. That game was clunky even for its time, but man was it fantastic! The singular feature that made it great is that cars, bicycles, tanks, helicopters, airplanes, mortars, artillery…everything…was available to the individual and groups of players for crewed vehicles or weapons. When you played a session online with a buddy being a forward observer while you and your other buddy lob mortars or artillery into the others online guys who are crewing a tank 2 miles away…the sense of accomplishment was great when you finally nail them. OFP didn’t need to simulate anything perfectly, good enough was perfect. Same thing with DCS, except DCS has the best aircraft simulation out there, and maps are probably good enough. If they cleaned up combined arms a little bit, you have really unlimited potential. They could even create a few OFP/Arma scale maps that are more geared towards infantry/helis/armor and CAS with enterable/destroyable buildings, and now we have a brand new sandbox to play in. Imagine somebody taking care of GCI and scrambling mig29 to counter inbound F4s or Tomcats looking to screw with an operation already in progress. The one type of situation that really got the blood pumping in OFP was flying a half dozen infantry players to an AO 20 minutes away. If you screw that up as a pilot and get everybody killed, you’re gonna have some pissed teammates! Now imagine the same in a Chinook on DCS! …Now imagine Eagle Dynamics hiring more developers for Combined Arms to steal Arma’s lunch money. …Now imagine FPS gamers coming to DCS to play CA in droves, because they know they have access to a bunch airplane geeks like us to fly close air support, transport, or logistics! The sky is the limit!!!! Walking around the airplane might seem like a gimmick, but it’s the seed of something much bigger. After all, all of our games our nothing more than a bunch of gimmicks creatively stitched together to entertain. I guess I just convinced myself to finally buy Combined Arms
  5. I have not seen this, I will try to reproduce. Can you send me the track or mission where you see this? Do you by chance have it selected as installed in the mission as well?
  6. In VR we see also part of HMD mounted on the helmed, looks very nice, however, in 2D it may be disturbing.

  10. Thanks @Spirale for sharing this video! I have watched some other GVad videos and I believe he is credible and really knows what he is talking about. Watching this video I was amazed how strong the MIG-29A was in both the turn (below 500 knots) and especially in the vertical! The MIG-29A really stands out as a air-superiority fighter below 15 000 feet in the merge. We MIG-29 pilots now need to figure out how to get close and force those Vipers down to us, any good ideas anyone? I would love to know

  12. If you have questions based on what we have released as far as info I can answer that, the video is analyzing an old conversation; things have changed since then. The only thing I take from that is we are maybe due for another development report. This is no small undertaking; it has to be much more complex than anything we have seen before. Not all of my answers will satisfy everyone, but in some cases its all I have for now. Thanks.

  15. After replacing "broken" A-10 on start up, the spare one is started , but at the end when trying to remove wheels chocks nothing happens and the mission is blocked....tried 5 times. Is there any workaround to remove the chocks and continue the mission? THX
  16. No issue here, maybe you have active buttons on your joystic or its a problem with the other unofficial mods?

  19. Yesterday i bought psvr2 and adapter. TBH i am not sure what to say. FOV is bigger but sweet spot is smaller and quest2 was not so blurry. I am not sure do i need to put render res in steam vr to 68% or more. I use quad views companion with focus size 10%, foveate res 130% and peripheral 8%. And have stutters over citys even with flat shadows. On quest2 was on high shadows. I tryed steam vr res to 120%, 100%, and 68% and it all looks same blurry. I center headset correctly, that's not issue.

  21. Maybe this will be helpful to someone. I was experiencing crazy VR issues with only the CH-47F module. But I finally found a fix. Basically, all other modules would perform consistently around 45fps in VR. Roughly 100-120fps without VR. The Chinook performed well outside of VR, but in VR it would drop to only 3-5 fps. When I went back to another module...magically back to the usual roughly 45fps. Very frustrating! First try was the log analyzer in Discord, but no luck. It showed everything was green and good to go. Tweaked settings to see if it would improve, but nothing helped. I stumbled upon a YT video from Spud Spike that solved this for me. The issue appears to be the efficiency cores in the Intel i9-14900 processor. Using the steps in the video to disable the E-cores brought the CH-47F VR up to roughly 45fps. The change did not improve the performance of any other modules, just the Chinook. I think that means that the module, at least in its current state, just uses more CPU than the other modules. And, if you happen to have one of these processors with E-cores, they just can't handle the load. The work needs to be done on a P-core. Anyway, I'm glad I was able to fix this, and maybe this will be helpful to others having VR performance issues with the CH-47F. If you have an Intel processor that uses E-cores, try disabling them when DCS is running. Link: Spud Spike Video
  22. Shut the canopy. Or enable helmet in the audio options. Or both. I don’t know what to tell you. Aircraft are loud. More seriously, check the „world“ audio gain. Generally speaking the environmental audio gain is pretty high in DCS (also applies to the F2 view e.g.)
  23. I am unable to use the F7 key to load the troops. Other keys in menu are functional, and keyboard checks out ok.
