  2. IADS with Skynet is pretty active, at least on their Discord. Love these features but to be honest, is struggle sometimes or do not understand, why things happen the way they happen and should not. Aside that, Skynet - if properly set up - turns off their systems and relys on EWR radars. If you are in engagement range they turn on and angage you. The impact is so far, that you don't know where they are - if hidden by the mission creator - unless it is too late. Also you cannot engage by harm unless they turn on, thus allows wild weasle tactics. Aside the existing Harm tactics like shoot on known position and trigger them to turn on. So yes, there is a lot of possibilities and many more if you are eager to dive into lua scripting. What i am really missing is the DEAD component. Jamming is also a thing which is not simulated in a way, a jamming flight would make sense. I know, there are some nice scripts, but the do not satisfy the way we all need. e.g. ELINT pods. Really done by the viggen only, but the evaluation is not implemented. The old ELINT map is not working anymore. I dug into some git pages where people seems to do nice things but never found a online place, or mod which supports our needs. I totally understand, that a company needs to make money by selling stuff, but there is still a huge amount of possibilities which are not addressed yet which needs to go to the core features.
  3. This is a bit silly. The NATOPS basically is the „Instruction Manual“ on how to operate the plane, hence it reflects how the plane was designed to be operated. The source that states that the F/A-18 can take off with flaps set to AUTO. I‘m sure it can be accomplished somehow…still doesn‘t mean it was meant to be done.

  5. Skynet on its own is incredible, but if you add DCS Hound to it, you already have a very worthy experience.

  7. I am wondering if they introduced some new bugs.. Luckily I didn't see any issues crop up in my DML enabled missions, but I wonder if there was something done w/re to internals. Possibly unit state checking or something....I was flying one of my missions using CTLD JTAC Autolase and the messages I was getting about target destruction and target switching seemed to be multiplied. Didn't get to check DML REAPER in this regard. Regarding DML Reaper:. I have complained in the past about ordnance not guiding consistently, but yesterday I realized that I had used an altitude parameter of 15000 forgetting that this unit should be METERS not FEET. I cranked it down to 5000 so I will see if my problems go away. Makes sense it was a ME problem all along
  8. aaaand bump "Raster Charts" seems to work fine While "Map Alt" seems to still have issues It only renders areas next to water, while the rest clips in occasionally.
  9. It's AI fault. ED is actively working on AI right now, AI ground forces progress is already noticable, and things like AI aircrafts having generic RWR, LWR, uninterrupted guidance etc. are very important to adress, as they are copletely changing the tactics. Making some legitimate ways impossible. Especially because this things are way easier to solve then AI behaviour in complex situations.

  11. I had the same problem with a10c and a10c2 , i used duplicated mapping from a10c2 for the a10c, and the track IR was innoperate on the a10c , i've just reset the track ir in the control settings , set it to default , restart dcs and it was working perfectly!
  12. Hi Heatblur did you get anyone to try the new lighting in VR? approached the back of the carrier at night and couldn't see a thing the glare is extreme. To be fair it could be my Gamma settings I have them high shall check and come back....

That explains the reason why I can get 72fps, and the expectation of the super is that it won't get that high with a 5090 - but at the same time, I'm still wondering how people are surviving in VR with less than refresh rate FPS's. Are people really putting up with the jitters that come with running less than that (for those who can't reach 72fps), or is there something basic that I'm missing that allows a lower FPS to work fine with higher refresh hz VR? As mentioned - I was able to run 36fps back 'in the day' with SteamVR and it was quite good on the HP Reverb. Seems that since OpenXR I haven't been able to achieve the same level of smoothness without reaching a min FPS that matches the Hz, so just wondering what I'm missing with OpenXR, etc.

    From what I've seen, the DCS default preset is C, so I'm still using the profile inspector.
  17. With what plane are you trying to take off? All runways are long enough for a WW2 plane to takeoff
  18. With today’s update supporting the newest DLSS (4) do we need to mess around in nvidia profile inspector anymore? I do not have nvidia app installed. Also I am not on the newest nvidia driver with my RTX 4090 card.
  19. Hat jemand eine Lösung wie man, besonders auf SAM bezogen, diese neuen Symbole auf der Karte entfernen bzw. verkleinern kann? Machen ein positionieren der Einheiten innerhalb der Stellung fast unmöglich.

  23. The AI can do things like that. They all have a 2000s era RWR (a MiG-19 will happily call out and identify SAMs in its front quarter...), radar from an F-16 (ED is working to fix that, at least) and MWS from the A-10. Ka-50's LWR comes standard for them as well. I suspect ED took some shortcuts when they originally coded the AI, it might have been fine when the aircraft selection was more limited, but now it's rather egregious.
  24. Calvin’s reply was for the Crystal Super running in high resolution and in TAA. That means rendering in crazy high resolution for each eye. Using DLSS 4 or lowering the resolution just a bit should get you over 72 fps. And then you can run the headset at 72 fps and get it smooth. Even with lowering the rendering resolution on the Crystal super a bit you would still enjoy the fantastic pixel density of the Crystal Super and the great field of view. I can’t stand jittery and stutters in VR either.
