  2. Carrier lighting can be controlled with a trigger in game. Use the "SET CARRIER LIGHTING MODE" action. Options are: OFF, AUTO, NAVIGATION, AC LAUNCH, AC RECOVERY. This is through the mission editor. You could set it to do this at mission start or set up a radio menu trigger for it. I don't know if the radio comms for landing will override it or not.
  3. I remember when the aim120c was easily dodged by a simple notch, they basically added the track suspension algorythm, when the missile lose lock on a target it will try to maintain the course of the target and relock it, its pretty similar to the aim9m and aim9x irccm characteristics, this would be so good if implemented in ir guided missiles

    Missing Radio

The way I was able to get the radio to work is as follows: In the mission editor assign the airbase tower frequency to the UHF AM: ARC-164 radio in the Channel 1 slot (Unfortunately, this also changes the frequency for your flight). In my case I am using 251.25 for Olenya on the Kola Map. In the cockpit, press CNI on the FMS to see the radio comm frequencies. 251.25 will be listed under the U2 radio. Move the Man/Norm/Guard switch to Norm. Select Channel 2 on the TX Selector switch. Finally, map your controls to Radio/ICS Transmit switch in the Control Options. Then contact ATC
  5. Following @MAXsennarecommendation I also repost my request in the wish list.
  6. They were together : I can't place that information on the first post of the thread because I'm not the thread's author.
  7. Hi, we are not seeing any issue with the data link, if you are please include a short as possible track replay and we will take a look. thank you
  8. Legibility of the AMPCD maps was discussed at length when the F-18 first came out. Generally the info pointed to they were crappy IRL and pilots rarely used them IIRC. It will be buried in the forums somewhere likely. I'm not opposed to custom ones if that is available in the airframe IRL.
  9. Pretty sure it is. That's the whole reason I stay with those heartless bas... I mean, with Nvidia. But I'm sure one the tech wizards here will have the low down.
  10. And I presume you've tried this, but if not delete the FXO and METASHADERS2 folders in your saved games folder.
  11. searching, searching ... finally I found the fix for 2.9.6. It works now. I suggest to keep both links together in the same post. That makes life easier. P.S.: thanks for posting it again.
  12. Is this because DCS is more Nvidia focused? Most benchmarks have the 6600 at 10-20% faster than 1080. I actually notice better performance with higher preload. From what I understand, the game loads the textures within that radius into ram during server/mission load. So it would increase load times but reduce stuttering by having the textures ready. My 64GB ram can easily handle max preload on multiplayer servers. Actually, MSAA completely wrecks my performance. TAA performance is ok but looks awfully blurry. DLAA looks better than both and has better performance (I think optiscaler converts it to FSR 2/3? I’m not really sure how it works for AMD cards)
  13. The error is: "ERROR DX11BACKEND (9064): Shader "/shaders/model/fake_omni_lights.fx" failed to compile. Reason: warning X4717: Effects deprecated for D3DCompiler_47" It seems that the fix you have is too old, try mine instead: VPC fix for 2.9.6 (by Shlee).zip
  14. Yep, because, you know, ED regularly has pre-orders for planes that never get released
  15. Spark plug fouling may manifest itself by slightly reduced power. The other stuff, you cannot really meter/monitor the degradation besides the sound the engine makes. If you hear strange noises, like banging, perhaps chugging or other strange noises, chances are that it's too late and the degradation is already quite advanced. The only thing you can activly do however is to prevent degradation in the first place by always staying within the limits and clear the plugs from time to time.
  16. Last night played a convoy mission to protect convoy from ambush Laid down tons of rounds with minigun and m60, expending so many rounds just to eliminate troops. A few troops still firing rockets at convoy after taking barage of fire Just like Ai helicopters taking a bunch of AIM9s in the face..I hope there is some tweaking to how Ai infantry and other Ai targets takes damage
  17. Is there anyway to notice or meter the degradation? I don't have much experience in the game but i have'nt noticed something like that unless i took hits to the aircraft and engine
  18. I dont under stand when he says in the second post you linked to: "On the controller board we find two contacts labeled "BOOT"..." What controller board is he talking about? I can't recognize anything like that inside my collective. I think indeed a firmware reboot of my device would help, but I can't figure out how to do it. Because the VPC Programs and Windows joy.cpl won't respond to the device properly.

  20. I have high hopes this will be implemented when they release the free one, and hopefully trickle over to the T. Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk
  21. @BIGNEWY just wondering if there is an update to the bug where the data link doesnt work when starting the aircraft cold. Starting the apache hot it seems to work just fine but only if the other party also started their aircraft hot. Thanks
  22. An easy fix could be using tiny fonts and a button bind for a semi fullscreen view the map to quickly check information. It would be a compromise, but easier than proper scaling and decluttering techniques. But seeing that they didn't bother yet to fix the screen export map bug (for years now), I wouldn't expect too much effort on this.
  23. That's correct. If you know this, you can achieve the point when the stall is impossible. Even at 0 airspeed. I call it "decellerated stall"

  25. I just use the 4 second fuse. As that's what suits my low level attack. I can do some test with plugged nose and 5 second fuse next week.
  26. I’m running a Quest Pro and a RTX4090 and with my current settings, I can get 90fps on the maps I fly (Persian Gulf, Nevada). However, one thing that always hammers my frames is the SC at night, specially when the deck lighting/illumination comes on. Anyone know how to turn it off at all? Is it even possible? Thanks
