Quad-Views-Foveated causes a significant drop in frame rate.
Qcumber replied to EX_AI's topic in Virtual Reality
The image is more blurred when QVFR is enabled for me too if I leave it set at x1. I push the foveated region up to x2 with VD godlike. This gives me very sharp images and no ghosting with DLSS quality. However I have a Quest Pro so can get away with a smaller foveated region due to eye tracking. With centre at x2, 0.25x0.25 and periphery at 0.5 I still get a good performance boost over no QVFR at Godlike. -
Honestly, with exception to the Mig19, ED has most of the documentation to make a decent 'replacement pack' for those that didn't get refunds, but these aircraft would, by necessity, have to be different versions of what RB made, JUST IN CASE someone in RBs legal department rolls up a newspaper. F-15E can be replaced, like for like, with a different version of the E... I wouldn't go with the EX, as it's too new and there isn't enough documents available yet... but a 1989 or 1990 E model? That'd work. The Mirage 2000C can be replaced by a more recent M2k, maybe the Mirage 2005? Harrier can be replaced by the last USMC version... which has the Hornets radar... which is already in game The Mig19... that's a tough one since getting Russian Documents is notoriously difficult. But there is a team working on the Mig17 right now. The real catch is how much development time would be needed to get each one working. A replacement Strike Eagle could probably be in our hands inside of 6 months with BASIC functionality (A/A weapons, Dumb and Laser-guided Bombs, working flight and damage models), but that's only because they have most of the work done for them with the F-15C (same engines, radar, etc). But a new Harrier or Mirage? We'd need a couple years. Minimum. This all being said... I just hope they can figure something out with RB, either to get them working again, or get the source codes. But until then... pray.

Call inbound then and please leave this thread alone, cause it's about IFLOLS visibility, mind you. -
Pimax Super, order and delivery dates, please post.
Panzerlang replied to Panzerlang's topic in Pimax
I don't know if Calvin kicked somebody's ass but I've had an email (not from support) saying a different courier (Black Cat/Yamato, top tier in Japan) will be delivering the unit on Tuesday (29th July). Way better than Amazon's "8th August". Memory kick...it's Yamato that DHL hand off to here. Fedex use a slower one. -
A secret edm ... it's in hiding !
crazyeddie replied to crazyeddie's topic in Static/AI Mods for DCS World
Many thanks Scoop - thats probably the only place I didnt look. -
No. Corsair core module is 5GB and Marianas WW2 is 9GB, but the latter is optional - you can select it in Module Manager. DCS grows with additions of new units and what you buy and download of course. Patches mostly replace the files with new ones but the unpacking process also needs space esp. for maps.

waiting for resolution ED/RAZBAM Situation Info & Discussion
Naja Bastarda replied to NineLine's topic in RAZBAM
The only thing we should focus on is that we gonna lose 200/250€ worth of modules because of their issues. All the people here talking about contracts, agreements, and guilt are just wasting their time. -
Is the ALR-56M adjusted yet?

Immense lag when flying with another player as WSO
Zabuzard replied to Hawkeye Pierce's topic in Bugs & Problems
Does it get better if you, just for testing, heavily tune down your DCS settings? Like, set it to low quality, low visibility and similar. May I ask, what is your ping towards your flight partner roughly? When it happens and you open your task manager, is there anything that looks like being a bottleneck? For example your RAM or CPU being at 100%? Perhaps you have been playing so close to the max that the overhead of multicrew went beyond the limit and now you are running into a bottleneck. -

What happened to the afterburners when taking off ??
draconus replied to RWC's topic in General Bugs
It's been like that for a while. Can't remember if a whole year though. -
I would have believed this interpretation, and even that the explicit word “inch” was omitted from the manuals and was just obvious to the pilots at the time - except that 1/4” is very little movement. If it were true it means in practice that the horn will activate only when you pull the throttle all the way back.

Mission 3, scripting error crash
Reflected replied to ww3231's topic in DCS: P-51D Debden Eagles Campaign
That’s strange, there is literally no scripts left in the mission. If the patch really updated it. - Today

As many people have no issues catching wires on the Essex, there might be a technique error on your side. Best thing you can do is upload a short track of one of your attempts, that way we can give you precise tipps what to improve.

Yep, I set the canopy reflection to 0, and everything went Ok. It seems the F4U uses too much reflection mapping everywhere in the cockpit. Try it and tell us ...

Good find but why do you need 50 of them? And most important it is not very nice to put it in a thread where someone is selling his own product. Better start a new one

Travelling for the coming week. Will post track file in about seven days. I mention this in case the lack of an immediate response is taken to indicate a lack of commitment to resolving this issue. S

Absolutely fantastic, if I could I would hug you! I live in the area where Siai Marchetti, Aermacchi and Agusta were born and seeing that someone is creating an S.211 really excites me

One easy fix for me would be to add LANTIRN to the Viper. At least then we have an all-weather low-level strike capability again, at least until the Tornado (or eventually maybe F-111 or A-6?). Another 'easy' one is to develop the F-35B to replace the Harrier - if it is a good enough replacement for the USMC and RAF/FAA then it is good enough for ED. A lot of the work will be done already for the 'A'. Personally I'd prefer a GR3 which would be great for Germany and the Falklands, but not many other places, and that would be a big project.

I have the same problem with arresting on the Essex in the Marianas WW2 map. I have spent hours practising with a wind of 28 kn. Across the deck, with full flaps and despite regular ( about 20-30) good approaches at 90 – 100 kn. The hook refuses to catch. I have tried setting flaps 2 with no benefit. I have carefully examined my replay footage on an outside (F2) view and I believe my problem is the flight model at low speeds: If on short finals you reduce speed to 90 Kn. The aircraft becomes very unstable by touchdown. If you fly any faster and try to flare a little at the last second to lower the tail, you lift off and miss altogether. Possible developer solutions: Check that there is no inherent problem with the Essex model. Tune the Corsair's flight model to allow more stability and sink at speeds under 100 Kn. Raise the Essex's wires a couple of inches. (It wouldn't even be visually noticeable) Lengthen the hook. Meanwhile, I'll continue to practise. Regards, Myself.

Changes to the behaviour of net.dostring_in()
Tippis replied to BIGNEWY's topic in Scripting Tips, Tricks & Issues
They are quite easy to understand and you have described it fully. …which is still more than it should be and which creates insecurities that didn't exist and shouldn't exist. It's that simple. This is a bad solution, implemented hastily with no warning and seemingly no testing of value. The number of things it breaks for no gain is ridiculous. The workarounds create bigger problems than what initially existed and does the exact opposite of what was intended with this whole idea. Hell, even the OP gives a big red warning sign. The reason I say that you didn't do any testing is because you've managed to break SLmod for a number of people — probably other common and crucial mods that are used all over the place. This should have been an immediate discovery and show-stopper. I would suggest a two-step process: Hotfix-patch rollback. Do any of the things cfrag has suggested. Or see two posts above.
