It would be nice if you could have a jester wheel or a george or petrovich set of commands, and she would be called Sasha. From the wheel you could get her to lock targets kinda like you can get Jester to do, but she works off of the available ground based radar assets.

Speaking of startup. I tried flipping all the switches at once using the master lever that allows all switches to be flipped in one go, but my gyros' wouldn't align properly if I did that. When I did the procedure normally as per wags video everything worked fine, but I'm wondering why it then has that master lever to flip all the switches at once if that cause the startup to not work properly

There were some specific things that weren't addressed in the recent Wags video on Ground Attack in the MiG-29, so I experimented and put together some stuff that I've figured out that might be helpful to people: The Air/Ground switch (left console forward) only affects the cannon symbology; it isn't needed for other A/G weapons. The middle and outboard pylons are logically combined, and A/A weapons take priority in the weapon selection for those pylons. You cannot fire/drop the middle pylons until either the outboards or the inboards are empty. If the inboards are empty, set the Pylon switch to Inboard to select the middle pylons, and if the outboard pylons are empty, set the Pylon switch to Outboard. This means if you are carrying R-27s or A/G weapons on the inboard pylons, you don't technically have to fire them before you can fire the middle pylon A/G weapons, as long as your outboard pylons are empty. All weapons of the same type always fire/drop simultaneously, and from both sides. If you turn off the laser designator (with Target Acquisition Symbol Control Button), you can't turn it back on for 30 seconds. In other experimentation I've done, I found that the SAPHEI cannon ammo cannot damage a BMP-3, but the AP ammo can. The AP still kills airplanes pretty well, but not as well as the SAPHEI. I haven't figured out how to use the KMGU dispensers yet though. They seem to only drop one bunch of bomblets rather than a continuous stream (even if the All/Single switch is set to All), and the accuracy is way off. It sounds like the upcoming hotfix patch may at least fix the accuracy though, so I'm waiting until then to do any more experimenting with those.

Weather mod v2.0 for DCS
celestHawk replied to bandit648's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Guys, please share your settings for such weather environments. I just discovered this mod and as I already mentioned I'm very illiterate in that subject. I had some hits and mesmerized myself with it but is pure luck.- 439 replies

Documentation on what was based where during the Cold War
Volator replied to Agg's topic in DCS: Cold War Germany
Correct, JG-3 with two squadrons MiG-29 and one squadron MiG-21 (MF if memory serves right) Preschen was promised by Ugra for phase 3. -
Hello! Left/Right trim hat commands are way too over sensitive. It is nearly impossible to trim it for straight flight. Pitch trim feels better, it seems not that extremly sensitive.
-
Wittstock housed a squadron of Soviet MiG-29s, in excess of 20 aircraft, yet we only have 12 parking slots available for the Fulcrum, 8 of which are maintenance hangars. Ample photos and vidoes exist on the net showing Fulcrums using the shelters at Wittstock as well as large numbers of them lined up on the ramp, none of which we are able to use at the moment due to parking restrictions.

MagVar on the kneeboard for Germany states -23.4. However the rose states it's closer to 0.4. Aircraft starts with the correct positioning inputted. But the kneeboard is WAY off.

I edited your post and closed this thread. You need to read the rules. This is a controlled document and not to be shared on these forums, because something is shared on the internet doesnt mean we are allowed to use it. Thanks. -
I feel like we basically need color video by this point lol, or a bunch of SME’s
-
If you watch carefully, you can even see it in Wags "How to Start a MiG-29A Fighter" video around the 14:02 mark.

Can confirm it seems much better in the release candidate. But let me know when you guys get it. Thanks!

I got Afghan day one, I loved it and was thrilled for what was to come. Had to uninstall & reinstall, since then, I'm now on my 5th try this summer, I can't get textures to load anywhere properly. Buildings half render, trees are like 64bit 2d paper, cars are boxes. It's every install, I'm on standalone. No other map has this issue and everything else looks amazing. Aircraft load perfectly. Map plays smooth, mountains and ground terrain looks as it should. All objects are blocks and half load. No amount of time waiting resolves this. I purchased the entire map at launch and have everything checked as far as I know. I must be doing something wrong. Any advice where to start? Again, it's only afghan that's like this. Thanks in advance.

Military Assets for DCS by Currenthill

https://www.navalnews.com/event-news/dsei-uk-2025/2025/09/mbda-unveils-stratus-for-future-cruise-and-anti-ship-capabilities/ With the 'final form' of the spear 5 missiles now being made public, any chance of an update to correct the models and characteristics in the pack? looks like the biggest changes would be wing shape and placement on both missiles and the nose profile of the cruise missile. I don't know if the SEAD/DEAD or Anti-AWACS capability of the supersonic missile can be modelled but it would be very cool to see it. -
In Mission 3 for the MiG-15bis, the Tu-22 does not launch the Kh-22 missile. As a result, the mission is considered incomplete with a status of 50%. In Mission 3, there is no such problem for the F-86. The reason is that the Tu-22 has the UNCONTROLLED flag. The problem may have appeared after updating the engine to 2.9.14.8222 in March 2025. In this release, the parameters of the Tu-22M3 and Kh-22 were changed. In November 2024, the company did not have such a problem.

Weather mod v2.0 for DCS
Archangel44 replied to bandit648's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Yes indeed those, and the uber “cumulonimbus” cloud with the flat tops. Just a request. Other than that, it’s a real treat flying high above the virtual earth with your weather mod. Just awesome Ive had my kids sit in the chair and they are stunned to see the low-mid-upper atmospheric views your mod has shown. Please keep up the good work.- 439 replies

Just like you found a MH60K manual floating around online a UH60M manual is out there. think I saw one on coursehero. I will agree that the MH60k despite being a older bird has more advanced features such as a multi mode radar and FliR . Better firepower too. MH60's can mount M134 miniguns for the door gunners where as conventional army aviation only had M60 or M240 machineguns for their Blackhawks. The only advantage that comes to mind with Uh60M is the blueforce tracker integration for situational awareness and more power with GE-701D engines. But this isn't surprising the 160th soar had typically have more sophisticated variants of helicopters that regular army aviation uses. Ie compare features described in the aforementioned 1994 mh60k manual to Uh60L manuals in the a similar timeframe. Limas are almost entirely analog. Edit: As for the film blackhawk down I thought those were mh60L? I recall from the brief cockpit shots that were shown in the film it looked like Mh60L interior shown here:
