  1. Past hour
  2. Thanks for re opening this important discussion, I feel doing this small step was a step in the right direction for a open conversation with ED staff. Thank you very much
  3. Hi all, what is the best way for me to update from 2.8.4 Beta to 2.9 and retain my setting and installed content? Any advice most appreciated.
  4. Hey buddy don't worry about it! I actually think there might be something going on with the brakes after all. I usually feather them pretty lightly with all my landings, but I just spent a while testing, and trying some pretty sporty braking, and then switching over to the 47. I noticed I can get the same wishy-washy suspension feel on the 47 by adding a negative curve to the brake axes. So it's as if there might be some strange curve applied to the mustang accidentally even if you're set to neutral. As a work around for now try applying 30 curve to the toe axes on the mustang. It does a lot to get rid of the mushy suspension feel.
  5. This all could have been avoided if they haven't committed to any release period in public. Maybe it won't be ready for another 3-4 months, which would be perfectly okay but there's no use in stating a release window in the first place. Just say that it will come out when it's done and that's about it.
  6. Go for Q3 and you can run at 72Hz without reprojection almost all the time.
  7. Maybe ED works on new Cow'ntermeasures?
  8. Probably an unintended side effect of working on live sling-loading of cows for the CH-47. If not, we might have to have a 'beef' with ED about their cows. . Sorry about the bad joke. I just thought I'd milk this thread while I had the chance.
  9. Wish every module had a visor like Razbam's jets.
  10. Yeah, when will we see any substantial updates for the SC? We've been told for a year now that updates are coming but outside of minor fixes there have been no quality of life stuff or planned features for the SC.
  11. Unless you have a personal reason, there is no reason not to be on the latest version.
  12. You can test that easily by setting a large deadzone temporarily to both axis if your stick (and maybe rudders too), and see if that changes anything.
  13. Almost same setup as mine (I have a 13900). I found that turning MR off gave me 90fps consistently in almost all scenario's. (Where with it turned on the GPU/MR app thought it couldn't reach 90FPS for some reason, and kicked in MR early - where I was running MR the majority of the time). My recommendation is to try turning off MR (not on auto - but actually OFF), and see if you're able to get graphics set to a point where you can get 90fps consistently. Then it's not an issue because there's nothing to reproduce. The only difference is I'm only using 100% resolution.
  14. @Oldcrow Jr. 62 You are absolutely right, regarding noise jamming this relies on signal/noise. On a barrage jamming the BT is far away, in spot jamming the BT is closer to the victim (because you are either spreading your energy or concentrating it). Some previous posts are hidden but it seems BT range is hardcoded and active in DCS. Regarding deception you don't need that much power, you just catch the signal, process it, inject error and send it back. Kind regards
  15. I've been using 2.8 beta (now at 2.8.4) Should I just install 2.9 and use that now?
  16. For what it's worth, module releases do not need to wait till patch day. So the schedule could be altered in that sense. And to be clear I am not saying its releasing before, at or after the next patch, just stating that we are not forced to wait for a patch. Thanks.
  17. The views are intentionally locked at the moment, although I'm planning on relaxing some if the restrictions in a future update
  18. Today
  19. I'm running Open Beta 2.8.4 I can't see the just purchased Normandy 2.0 map in the Module manager. This seems strange. I also can't see the purchased Debden Eagles campaign - however that says version 2.92 so perhaps that why I can't see that one? Any advise appreciated.
  22. The most helpfull tip for me when learning AAR (in the BMS Viper however), was to turn the HUD completly off. This forces you to look at the tanker and the horizon, instead of the FPV, which is a major cause of pilot induced osillations.
  23. Since last update my vr headset audio sounds muted even though all settings in DCS are set to maximum
  24. Based on track record, May 31 is highly optimistic. They'll find another show stopper bug and back the release off another couple of months. This may be an endless loop.
  25. In new light with latest developing in VR. Looks like difference between 4080S and 7900XTX is reducing maybe you should go to Nvidia. If difference is 100€ and above 7900XTX is better choice. Diference between 4080/7900XTX is actually completely new Pimax Crystal Light. 4090 = 7900XTX + Crystal Light in €uros and that is the killer combo.
  26. You can place the carrier in a lake if you want. Obviously it's not realistic - but it can be done. However I have Nevada, and I might have a total of two hours flight time on it myself. I love carrier ops, and it doesn't lend itself to that. I've mostly seen it used more for a 'training map', but that's kind of expensive for a lot of people to have just for training (YMMV). There are a few maps on the near horizon though that may work very well for carrier ops, so might be worth saving your money for one of those?
