There are 3 things that are begining to bug me: First of all, ED did claimed on their own site, autumn 2006. Second, it's taking too much time -this situation is not even remotely similar to the situation with v1.02 patch and thirdly, all you beta testers have become a PR people, nothing more, nothing less. I bet you've played BS to the death and are becoming a bit annoying with your patronizing tone. I for one, was into LOMAC much earlier then many of you beta testers and can STILL totally relate to people that ''whine'' when will it be released, since it's been forever now. What did you expect? So please, surprise me this year.2 points

Hello to all from LOCKON comm. I am ill after hard weekend 8-9 but I would like to show a little from great event in Czech Republic. So lets start. Saturday morning: start from Bratislava to Brno airfield Tuřany. I was not that lucky, but SVK_Mike with SVK_Raimir were inside E-3 AWACS. When we came with SVK_Igelit and SVK_Puco there were a lot of people so we decided to look at start of the show. The static part was full of interesting planes wrom eastern part of Europe like Mig-29 from Hungary and SLovakia and also planes like F-15E STRIKE EAGLE, F-4 Phantom and many more. Nice surprise for us was B-1B. Most of us was surprised also with it - it looks more bigger on pictures like it is. But it is still bigger plane like my living room so :music_whistling: Planes like Galeb G-2 (aerobatic team Stars) and L-39 ( BREITLING JET TEAM) were possible to see on the sky and their show was dynamic and nice. Sometimes my eyes spot another interesting objects on static part of the show. Before attack on the airfield by czech air force (L-159 ALCA) some mates expected that and they escaped to safezone :) My favourite SAM Strella was also here and this small thing makes me mad when I am flying Su-25T in Lockon so it was right time to see it closer than in Lomac in Su-25;) Small brother for same purpose:1 point

I did F-14 skins for the Su-33, so I figured why not do A-6 skins for the 25T?? I'm just crazy like that! I have some tweaks to do, but should release the 4-pack this weekend. VA-35: VA-65: VMFA-332: VMA-224:1 point

To amplify what FF has stated... Partly, I think you have a misunderstanding of how the A2A system is designed to work. The system defaults are set for stealth. When you first enter any A2A mode, radar is not turned on. In the case of BVR you have to physically set the radar to: ON. In the case of the WVR modes (VS, BORE, and HELMET), the system defaults to the IRST sensor (EOS). Since heat signatures do not provide IFF information, you have to actively engage the radar for IFF. My guess is that, when you entered BORE, only the IRST sensor was active. Turning on your radar would have solved your IFF problem. I've never had difficulty with IFF--head on or whatever. That's what ubi did and pushed ED to release the original Lock On early. Then it gave both ED and ubi a bad rep because the first release was pretty buggy. I hope they don't make the same mistake again. If the product is finished and ready and released at the end of 07, great, if not, I'm cool with that. I rather wait until its ready.1 point

The reason why i tried to make a movie like this is just to underline this great feeling of flying ... i was thinking if ppl watch it...they have to feel .."now i am in the mood to fly" And what made me really happy was the reply of Callsign: Rocko ( http://speedandangels.com/the_pilots/ ) ( i sent him and few other "realos" this movie ) "The video is amazing....the visuals are awesome, very realistic. The fight was great, too. The initial low-level merge with both of you going up is too cool. Looks like you've been "flying" for some time" This was the first serious movie project i made..(damn, figuring all out = headache) but. the 2nd Movie - so i hope - will be 2-Ship Formation-Movie ( also very different style ) /O Thx to community.........stay tuned1 point

Тряски есть в ЛО (см. треки: Shaking 1 - Су-27, Shaking 2 - AFM Су-25). Насчет Су-25 и Су-25Т - разговор особый. У Су-25 по умолчанию есть БК пушки, а поскольку он в носу и тяжелый то центровка достаточно передняя. РУС до упора назад в полетной конфигурации балансирует самолет на таком УА, что хорошего сваливания не получается. В середине второго трека БК был отстрелян, посему ручку до пупа дергать стало небезопасно. Попробуй сам. У Су-25Т БК находится практически в ЦМ, поэтому такой передней центровки у него нет. В третьем треке два раза попытка ввести в штопор - с БК и без оного - почувствуйте разницу. Еще для полноты ощущений ФМ предлагается ввести Су-25 в ВПК в штопор и, главное, вывести :) с полным БК и отстрелянным. Для контраста попробуй Мустанг в Ил-2. Про него достоверно известно, что при 100% (залит фюзеляжный бак) центровка у него предельно задняя (запас = 0), что это такое, наверное, объяснять не надо. Tracks.rar1 point

Hi all :) A little update on the AdA mod. BarbsMan created completely a couple of new weapons 3D models : Python 4 air/air missile : And AASM (French JDAM with a rocket motor) the folding control surface are now correctly animated in Lockon (screenshots to come....) : Meanwhile we almost managed to finish the 3 different cockpits and their night version : 2000-5 (MiG 29C) : 2000-5 night version : 2000C RDM (MiG 29A): 2000C RDI (MiG 29G): 2000C night version : Cheers :) Hub.1 point

Ok, here come the pics. The mockup was shown with 4 AIM-120, 2 Meteor, 2 IRIS-t, 2 2000lb guided bombs and two fuel tanks. There was also a real Eurojet 2000 engine and radar model in the EADS area. The cockpit was a complete replica of the real thing with many things working, including MFDs: The stick, and the throttle: According to the words of the EADS representative (german) the controls were 100% reproducing the real thing and believe my surprise when I found out how close it feels to my X52. The stick has the same tension in all axes, the same deflection range. It's a bit harder though. The throttle has exactly the same tension increase at Idle and Max dry power and the same tension throughout the entire range. The only difference is that it's actually a slider, not a lever like I'm used to. The HUD, one of the few things that was not working:1 point

Pilots from Poland showed us F-16BLOCK52 PLUS, this nice plane was like new, gears without any scratch and also cockpit was like baby face. SVK_Mike and mee was lucky guys and checked it. Pilots from Poland was polite and very helpfull and their answered all questions. I cant forgot the C-17 this plane looks like big but pretty cow on the sky, minimal speed of empty C-17 was amazing and I think this was one of the best experience to see it.:thumbup: After end of the show we had to go to downtown and try some good czech beers. And we tried a lot fo them .....nobody remember how many :music_whistling: From left: thanks to SVK_Puco, SVK_Mike, Anatolij, mee, SVK_Igelit this was nice weekend. Also we didnt forgot to talk about next RED FLAG and I must to say that planning in czech pubs with beers is more effective like on TEAMSPEAK. Trust mee:smilewink:1 point

This is interesting.... People seem to know all there is to know about Air Combat, Classified Weapon Systems and Tactics... but can't agree on the basics of how flying works! This is the best thread of the year! One things is for sure.... That 120 looks like it's ready to enter the fight! 9gs be damned!1 point

Neither of those two explanations stand up on their own, and they're not mutually exclusive either. Saying that aircraft fly "because of Bernoulli" or "because of Newton's law" is oversimplifying the matter to a single point and is just plain lying. I've come to my own conclusion based on the theory available and common sense :P I've never heard one lecturer or instructor describe it all satisfactorily . . . but then lecturers are only interested in describing it through the use of maths, and instructors are only interested that you understand something about what's holding you up. C'est la vie.1 point
