  2. Or getting on-line 101 ... I did a search, but what I found was a little too specific and did not tell me the nuts and bolts that a newb needs. I am at the point where I think I am ready to try to fly with some of you guys on-line ... well at least in my A-10 and or the SU-25 ... course I am a mud-mover at heart. Is there a thread that will tell me what additional software I need to load and install, what I have to do to join a mission, who hosts (do I host, can I join server missions that are already running, can I post a mission and share it or do I have to host as a server in order to fly a mission I wrote on-line), things like that. Thanks again guys. Last quest ... anyone need an eager nugget for ground pounding ? Havok out

  3. Hi, finally i got joystick Saitek Cyborg Evo, I plugged it, all is OK, I fly example Mig-29 or Su25T and when I move joystict forward (down) plane's nose gose down, OK, but when I let go stick to its neutral position (centered) plane's nose back to level. By this it is smpossible to aim ground targets... On keyboard it somehow was otherwise when pressed cursor up (down) the nose went smoothly down and didn't back, so where is problem? I heard we must all time trim it? So why not on keyboard? Joistick in control panel is well centered and is precise. Thx

  6. ???So only those people who have the technical ability to mod should have the option ??? I agree - if it's not done, it's probably not worth delaying the release for, but it should have been part of the initial build - & yes - fair's fair, The AH-64 should come with a Russian cockpit skin...

  7. 10308 ? I forgot the number of the port to open to fly online with lockon? I remember something like 10308. Was it 10308? :helpsmilie: I lost my book with all my important numbers!

  9. Interesting thread. Most people will find that being a hovering target or flying directly at a main tank gun / ATGM carrier under 3.5 km with little crossing will be a bad idea. Instead, Vikhr attacks out beyond 4 km and slashing attacks with a weave will be much more safe. As has been mentioned before, in addition to a ground vehicle's main weapons, many also have secondary machine guns that they will use as well now. Even non-air defense systems have a bite now. Hopefully I will be able to do a producer's note about attack tactics.

  16. Guys, I just saw this thanks to a Groove's PM. What can I say, being 30 once in the lifetime feels great. And yes party was superb, we had some MP aerobatic flying, popping flares and trailing smoke. LOL! Actually, RL partying was also impressive...I'm still hanging over!:drink: LO/FC community is world spread and it's kinda sad we can't meet 4 real too often for occasions like this! So guys thanks for all your posts, I hope we'll catch a beer or two IRL. If we ever meet IRL, the drink's on me! I like airshows a lot, had a blast in Moscow last August (MAKS-2007) and I'd like to visit Le Bourget and Farnborough ('scuse my spelling if wrong) so events like that could be a great meeting place for LO community. This is just an idea but I'd like to see you guys face 2 face! @groove - Your croatian is perfect!!! Where did you get that from?! @janko - Zagreb, Croatia. Guess we're locals! @all - much appreciated! Thanks M8s!

  17. Dunno how good your monitor is, but if I'm zoomed out to a point where I can comfortably fly the aircraft, I can't read the markings anyway. I've pretty much learnt the switches by location now, rather than markings. English cockpit would still be nice to have, though :)

  20. You can't move the existing in-game afterburner, but you can create your own new one using Arguments 28 and 29 for right and left engines. I did this for the Virtual Blue Angels 2007 mod. Actually, I think it was Teka Teka who first demonstrated that this could be done. The F-18's in the VBA mod have 5 stage afterburners using the visibility arguments for each stage, and since I made them from scratch, they are exactly in line with the burner cans unlike the in-game F-15 burner flames. You must use opacity in 3DS Max or they will look solid rather than see-through. You also have to "eliminate" the existing F-15 burners by either editing the forsag.tga or forsag.lom files. See the thread here for screenshots of the VBA F-18 afterburners (There are a couple more detailed afterburner screens half way down the thread): http://www.virtualblueangels.net/forums/forum_posts.asp?TID=1611&FID=4&PR=3

  22. Comrades around the world! The 51st PVO Regiment is proud to announce that our very own Dedicated server is now fully operational!! Server is located in San Diego, hosted by the same hosting company as 3sqn dedicated server, which proved itself more than capable at handling huge loads during recent LOCERF missions! We currently have five missions running on HL with mission rotator (3hr/mission). Server rules are posted on our forums at forum.51st.org Specs: CPU: Intel C2D E6750 GPU: Geforce 8600GT RAM: 4GB DDR2 Connetion: 100 mbit Server IP: 71.6.210.91 Here are some screenies from our missions, for viewing pleasure! See you in the blue! S!

  23. Well Said GGTharos, For us at the 104th its about the community. Seeing those numbers just randomly showing up in HL was a testament to the growth and love of an aging yet still amazing sim. The success of that day goes NOT to the 104th Phoenix VFBS but to the community as a whole, to everyone one who participated, those who couldnt and also to those who no longer fly with us in the community. S! to you all To Eagle Dynamics - As you can see this SIM is not dead!! Bring on the 1.3 Patch

  26. Running pretty smooth... I notice only occasional warping which I think is individual's unstable connection (happens sometimes and yeah, 200ms ping is still pretty suficient for online flying in LockOn.

  27. Kuky, we are very satisfied with our provider. I must admit I was very worried when my squadmates decided to use it. My reasoning was that its ping was high to me (180ms), and for some even above that (+200ms). However it seems all vehicles even in large missions, both AI and Player Controlled, are moving smoothly - no lags/warps. The geographical position of both servers 51st and 3sqn allow us to play smoothly with players all over the world. F.e. I have a squad mate from Malasia and finally he can enjoy the server as much as we all can! So if you see both servers having ping ~200ms, no worries - gameplay will be smooth, even for those close-encounters and precision formation flying! Do not hesitate to post any comments or ideas regarding our server here: http://forum.51st.org/viewforum.php?f=7

  29. Nah, I have so much, I dunno what to do with it! I have like, I dunno, let me see, ehh, at least 50 points incoming every day! I'm asking all the nice People, please slow down people, please, please... I'm almost out of space here! But bastards keeps on sending... My reputation storage place, which now is 27000 sq meters and I'm building an extension twice of that size, plus another one of the same triple size, so by the mid of May, I'll be able to store something like 300 points an hour... we'll see who will be in need then! Muahaha ... :megalol: OMG, i have three bars already! Ooo, my heart :shocking:, MEDIC! (where the heck are they when you really need one...) nah, I'm OK, just kidding :D
