  1. Hi all, :music_whistling: yes, you have well read the title. Following my Work In Progress in LO modeling within the ADA Team, since it will will be more or less the first 3D cockpit ever made in Lockon. In the past, Tomcatz showed some issues with its early L39, now I will show you "my Real Thing". :smartass: As my old physics teacher said, a schema is worth thousands words. Nowadays, with the great Video Director LOTHAMROTH, :D let me say a video is worth 25 schemas per second! So to illustrate my work, please "hit" this: Beware, this is a 124 Mo video, if you want to watch this on other support, please follow those links: Streaming: Vimeo: YouTube: http://fr.youtube.com/watch?v=LVUIi8vGDmI Mirrors : http://www.virtual-jabog32.de/index....le=920&lang=en http://www.megaupload.com/fr/?d=1U7VITXV A special thread for technical questions will be open on the www.ada-mod.org forum, but let me summarize the cockpit work: All are 3D analog gauges (no MFD possible in LO...) - Altimeter, Vertical speed, IAS, Mach are active - G-load and special alphajet incidencemeter active - 3D horizon ball - some Warning lights - RPM, fuel flow and ITT active - canopy opening - gear lever and speed throttles - HSI is transformed into RMi, but not fully working My thanks goes to Lothamroth for the video editing, AdA-mod dev team for testing and ideas sharing, Patrouille Virevolte my aerobatic team, Cpt Stark for the "millions hours livery" and "Ninja", the real Alphajet solo display 2007-2008! Enjoy! :pilotfly:

  3. Attached are two of the pictures I took really quick tonight from an Mi-17 cockpit. Both were taken one after the other at the same focus settings. Also note that there were no lights on in the cockpit.

  4. GG, I'm not sure but if I remember my ride (sorry, it was 8 year ago I think so I have forgotten some of the detail) the landing speed of a F-16 is pretty high (depending on weight and other factors) and the AOA for landing is like 11 to 13 degrees IIRC. I know in the simulator, when I tried to land, I end up stalling 20 high over the runway (I flare to early and came in to slow)and destroyed the landing gear. Anyway , landing speed and AOA is close to the real thing but like you said before is the little details that are different.

  5. Vipe- you posted in *this thread*, but I just wanted to bring it back up because the discussion involved that card. 10k rpm HD.. 2 gig ram unless you are going XP64 bit also- Hitman had some choice words for Asus during his build... (looking for it now) http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/38610606/m/2981036676?r=4891016676#4891016676

  8. PhysX is hardware, not software. Only need to use this technology is drivers. For use my Hotas Cougar (is hardware) need drivers (software part). For use PhysX need drivers, and this drivers use CUDA technology, similar to language used by ATI. For use Havok no need specially drivers, no need include support for this technology in drivers, all graphics can run Havok.

  10. nVidia would like everybody to use PhysX, thats why they actively support development of a CUDA/PhysX driver for Radeon cards (http://www.ngohq.com/news/14219-physx-gpu-acceleration-radeon-hd-3850-a.html). AMD officially backs Havok (interestingly now owned by Intel). Havok is most known for use in games such as Halflife2, and indeed a software solution that runs on the CPU. However, Havok has been working on adding GPU support, which makes sense, since GPU's are much strong for that purpose then CPU's. I am indeed interested if and how PhysX/Havok will be supported....

  13. That's good to hear. In Black Shark, ff you turn on ambient lights in the cockpit at night, is it harder to see outside ?

  14. I know what you mean man, but I have some experience with sharing tactics. It happened long time ago in BF2 (back then I didn't knew about the existence of LOMAC).I understood something about flying in that game by flying very long hours and started to enjoy kicking butt. Some of my mates, total noob, got the joystick and came to fly in BF. I shared what I understood from my experience, so he can enjoy the game, few minutes later he was typing in global chat to everyone (trying to be friendly and stuff I guess)... Couple of minutes latter it was used against me. Since then, I'm suspicious about sharing, as this might turn against you in couple of minutes... Anyway, no disrespect, but he should go to Flankertraining.com

  15. I think it will be quite important for ED to create a good system for looking around the cockpit and pressing buttons with the mouse and instruct players to use left hand for left side switches and the right hand for right hand switches, so that you let go of the "right" control when activating a switch, I guess you should have the mouse between the collective and cyclic to make it easier. Forcing players to get yet another not so cheap periferal to be able to enjoy the simulation would not be a good idea. Personally I hope that there will be a good rebate on TrackIR and pedals included with the game, perhaps there could be a whole package that you could buy, DCS + hotas + pedals + TrackIR, Please :)
