  1. I have decided to publicly release the latest iteration of "Capturing Maykop" for usage on any and all public servers. What is Capturing Maykop? Capturing Maykop is a dynamic team vs team objective based mission. The goal of the mission is to secure and hold Maykop Airbase. The mission has nearly 1000 triggers that govern all aspects of the mission. How do you capture the airbase? To capture the airbase is a relatively simple task, it is by no means easy. A team must enter a 35 km radius around the base and prevent all enemies from entering this area. Once you control the airspace a convoy will move in an make Maykop available as a FARP for your team. Transports with additional reinforcements will airdrop air defenses to the base. These defenses start off small and gradually become more advanced. Exactly, how does it work? It functions like a King of the Hill scenario commonly found in other games. The first team to enter the airspace starts to capture it. The more friendlies in the airspace the faster it captures. It takes anywhere from 1 to 15 minutes to capture the airspace. If you leave the airspace after you start capturing it, the capture percentage will decrease until it reaches 0%. You may re-enter it at any point as long as your team is capturing it and its above 0%. It moves up or down in 5% increments. The enemy team can block the progress by entering the airspace. If the enemy enter a empty airspace that is decreasing, the rate of decrease will double. Once it is drained to 0% it will take about 30 seconds before either team can start capturing again. Once a team captures the airspace the focus is on protecting ground assets near Maykop. If all ground forces are destroyed in the vicinity of the base, the mission "resets" to a previous state where both teams are trying to re-secure the airspace. To be considered "In the airspace" you must be. Within 35km of Maykop At an altitude of 1000m Above Sea Level Flying a fighter aircraft. (Ka-50, Su-25A/T, A-10 have to effect on airbase capture) Terms of Use 1. DO NOT make any modifications to the trigger system unless otherwise approved by the mission creator. With the sheer amount and complexity of the trigger system it is very very easy to break. 2. The mission briefing must stay intact except for exemptions listed below. 3. AI and client unit composition, location, skill level, callsign, tailnumber, and waypoints are not to be modified. Client payloads, skin, and Ka-50 ABRIS data can be modified. What edits can be made? 1. Time, Date, Season, and weather can all be adjusted to your choosing 2. Forced Server Settings 3. Minor briefing edits to the "general" briefing page. You may add specific server info where stated in the mission editor. Do NOT delete or change the format of mission creation details, Special Thanks, and Version number information. 4. Any Triggers specific to server. (The last trigger in the list where it chooses which mission to load) What about custom versions or bugs? Please feel free to contact me with any ideas you may have to improve the mission. I will be more than willing to listen to all ideas. Also keep in mind any change will be available for all, I will not make "server exclusive" versions of the mission. The mission should be quite bug free, but like all things created by non-sentient beings there could be a bugs or typos. Please do not try to fix them yourself.   2. Не знаю, честно в тот ли раздел меня занесло, но ничего типа "Моды\патчи" на форуме не нашёл. Давно вынашивал идею сделать нормальные, человеческие текстуры для (по дефолту) не летабов. Нарыл кучу фотографий в инете, загорелся наклепать кучу скинов, но упёрся в проблему такую: Как можно увеличить количество доступных вариантов окрасок самолётов непосредственно в игре? Куда в какие конфиги лезть и чего править, подскажите пожалуйста. Ибо я маляр... в конфигах разбираюсь так же как в настройке виоланчели. Для затравки, скрины первых двух раскрасок. Конечно совершенства добиться, используя модели 7ми летней давности, с ужасными развёртками - невозможно, но максимум я попытался выжать. Усердно работал с мелкими деталями, используя реальные референсы. Но 100% идентичности тут нет. Планировал вообще сделать штук 6-7 окрасок для МиГ-23МЛД, штуки 3 хотя бы для МиГ-27К, если кто поможет решить проблему указанную в начале поста - буду очень признателен. (П.С. Большая просьба к модераторам, не удаляйте тему! Если я действительно перепутал раздел, и где то реально есть раздел для модов и прочих улучшений - переместите её туда. С уважением.) (П.П.С. В дальнейшем планирую потихоньку обновить все убогие текстуры всех нелетабов.   3. Games cost about $60.00 US now...you are lucky if you play them for more than 2 months unless they have good replay value like a sim and I bet you don't bat an eye at plunking down for a new game... Anyways my point being you will get years of use out of a TrackIR...it's worth it.

  6. 2) Study the trimmer. When at the attidude and heading you want to be at, trim. 3) You can hit the lock key again, or zoom out.

Yes, like nomdeplume I also find it helpful to have the multiplier reduced toward the center so that I can have my head move around a bit when looking straight to the middle of the monitor screen and still have the hud roughly in the middle of it. What I'm using is the smooth profile that I modified to my liking so you might want to try that profile too for a start shackman and modify it accordingly (using the green up and down arrow or by adjusting the curve).

  11. Client performance in MP is few times better than if you would play the same mission in SP... Fps might not differ, but the CPU load and stutter wise its almost like night and day! This is because the server handles all the ground units, AI and etc... So yes, you are right in your observation :)

  12. 104th missions have less AI units than you'd think: the groups are not all active at the same time, they don't move, there's limited AI flights, AND the AI routines that have to be there are being run on the server - not on your machine. Similarly, the aerodynamics and such of each player plane is run on that player's machine, so your machine doesn't have to do that work as it would for singleplayer.

  13. They are focusing all they have on A10C. They decide new feature for A10C based on whether it's benefical for A10C, and not wheter it will be hard to implement in BS as FC2.0. They will not scrap any feature just because it would be hard to implement into the existing product. After A10C is finalized, the dev team will sit down, make a list of changes that would have to be made to make A10C mp comapatibile with BS/FC2.0. Make a rough estimate of how long it would take, and then decide whether it's going or not going to be mp compatibile. Imho ED would love to have them mp compatibile, it's a nice feature, that can attract costumers.

  15. wtf its $150! Thats insane! Just because natural point has monopoly on the head track market they think they can jack up the price 15 times what it should be. I bet the total cost for them to manufacture one unit is around $15...

  19. Last I heard 64bit is being implemented first (we may see this with A-10) before more Multithreading. As it is now, only the sound engine and DirectX itself are multicore aware. Nate

  20. Wow they're flying pretty low. Damn, I hate those little buggers. Especially after cleaning a few Cessnas of them. Can't imagine cleaning AN-2. Some interesting S-125 footage by Russian operators. Shows launches at various targets to air and ground and the radar screen indications and descriptions of what is going on. Also the effects of jamming are visible. The music is pretty weird though...

  21. Посмотрев обучающий трек по посадке в ГС2, решил сделать свой. Объясняется методика взлета, захода 2х180 и посадки с последующим заруливанием на стоянку. Думаю, для начинающих самое то, ведь, если сразу приступать к сложным видам, ничего не поймешь и быстро надоест, начинать нужно с кругов. Сопроводил титрами. 2х180 (ПМУ).trk

  22. All right, I finally skipped Mission 8. I tried it close to a dozen times and just could not suppress the nigh-invincible enemy forces. I tried Mission 9 once and then skipped that one as well. A combination of aggravation with the ground crew (had to take off and land on the runway before they'd give me NVGs,) the ever-annoying "fly in formation with someone for 15min and then promptly lose once you reach the target area" factor, and the difficulty of trying to fight anyone or anything at night in the Ka-50 made this mission nothing but a pain. It's a cool concept, but it's hard enough to fly escort for an Mi-8; doing it at night just makes it plain aggravating. I'll try Mission 10 when I get back from work tonight. Again, this is really a great campaign, but some of these missions are just plain unbalanced and angering. I look forward to the next version of the campaign with some of these problems fixed =)

For those flying on Lock On FC 2, I have redesigned all the LUA part to set up a profile more easily : It is a Modman package : you should install it with Modman (packed with version 7.3, I don't know if there are backward compatibility issues) I have implemented the main statuses you might want to see on the buttons : engines, flaps, gear, radar, autopilot, modes, etc. To assign status function to buttons, edit : /Config/Export/G940leds/LO-FC2/profile.lua You can also tweak the colors corresponding to each status here : /Config/Export/G940leds/LO-FC2/colors.lua This version has only been tested on Lock On FC2 (patched to 1.2.1) I will check previous versions of Lock On if I have the time. The DCS side I have provided is just a draft, trying to duplicate morg's profile with my implementation. But I can't test it since I don't have it (I'm not ready for a true-hardcore sim yet ^^). If you want to give it a try, you'll have to change the game setting in : /Config/Export/G940leds/config.lua In this file, you can also disable the little intro/outro animations and tune the refresh rate. (Which also changes the blinking rate, because yeah, blinking is implemented ! ) Feel free to suggest other functions you would like to use.   24. hreich: Yes, it is game related, otherwise they very easy get out of sync. So the result will probably be more irritating than useful when just changing off/on when pressed.
