Not to sound rude, but this "mistake" has probably been made by the majority of the community due to the original predecessor to the DCS series, Lockon: Modern Air Combat. I do understand that DCS is a different series to LOMAC, however it was born from the same world as LOMAC, contains the same aircraft and ground units (mostly) and borrows much from the original game. This is probably what lead us to believe that DCS had the same priority of delivering a modern combat experience (modern meaning not vintage).3 points

After watching this acrobatic vid, i've decided to break the BS dogma of never flying without engaged AP channels. Result? Awesome! I finally have a feeling i could really kick some arse in this thing. Stops, U turns, J turns, immelmann turn with a stop on top (vertical J turn), funnel, sideways, backward. Not a problem. With some practice. Trim (i think) was always in the way of such moves, i could never do them because something kicked in and the helicopter just drifted into it's original position. It (ofcourse) takes some time getting used to the feel, but it's SOO worth it, once you tame it. It becomes very responsive and it goes where you want it. And that's what i need.2 points

Hackers Are hackers the reason there are so fewer servers up now than there were just last week? Several of my favorite servers aren't up anymore. ED, Please don't just ignore these problems in FC2 only to fix them up in FC3!!! Just for your own interests, that will be absolutely horrible for business. Many people buy flaming cliffs for the multiplayer experience. In the months leading up to your new release, if you don't fix the hacks, many people will quit playing FC2. They will put it on their shelves and forget about it for a long time. Many of your fans probably won't buy FC3, not out of vengeance, but because they simply lost interest and are now playing other games. Hackers, Please just stop. No one thinks you're cool. In fact most of us think you're the pathetic scum of the earth. I feel sorry for you, I can't believe someone hacks a FLIGHT SIMULATOR for fun! Really? Are you gonna tell your non-existent girlfriend that "I hack flight simulators for fun!"? Give me a break. Go play Call of Duty or something, because you are a pathetic wimp who can't seem to let other people have fun if you can prevent it. You don't have to be a complete loser your whole life, if you quit doing stuff like this people wouldn't hate you so much (and I'm 100% certain you're not a popular guy in real life). Go get a life, and let us of us who want to play this game have fun without your pathetic hacks. P.S. if there is someone reading this who speaks Russian, can you please translate this for me so I can post it in the RUS section? I don't know whether the hackers even read these forums, but if they do, I want them to see it. Hi all, Since I wanted an app with checklists based on Paulrkiii's checklists I created a new iPad app. This community has been more than helpful in providing guides, checklists and other downloads, so I thought I'd share mine. Want some constructive criticism? Next time, setup your profile on the ground, so you don't have to screw with the DSMS while you're flying. During the roll-in for a 45 HADB, don't pull the power back to idle or you'll end up too slow. Stand the throttles up at mid-range. You had your track set okay, but you were more than 15° shallow, 500ft high, and 50kt slow at release. The abort window is +/- 5° from planned, and +/- 25kt, so that first pass should have been aborted. The SEM started out great with a 4g pull, but then fell apart. Make sure the TVV stays within 2° of the horizon, and get back up to 4g for at least 60° of turn. You just kind of "floundered" there while you tried to score your own bombs. Never, ever, try to score your own bombs. Fly the airplane. The second pass looked better, I think you were only 10° shallow and 40kt slow. But that SEM was all over the place. 6.5g's and a chopped tone mean you're pulling too hard. You ended the second SEM the same as the first, with the nose high, and insufficient G. Да в том то и дело что всё не так:),дело в том что у Су-27 коэффициент тяги гораздо больше единицы(без боевой нагрузки,а с минимальным запасом топлива тем более),в ГС2 это не так,плюс приёмистость слабее,вы же в принципе сами это знаете:)1 point

Exactly, and if some people would look over there noses, to other sims like CloD (even with a broken SIM like CloD :music_whistling: ) and what amount of players you have online, then you can call FC2 dead, sad it is!1 point

1. any joystick is 3 levels better than the best mouse/keyboard combo 2. if you mean it with dcs:bs seriously, do not buy entry-level joy Try eBay. Sometimes starting price is as low as 1€. With a little luck you could buy it for less than 50$...1 point

I like to keep a list of smaller things I would like to see changed in DCS, so that I don't make an entire new thread for 1 minor thing, but instead, 3+ minor things. :) Here's a recent compiled list I've produced. Independent Lights - Currently, flashing lights in DCS flash at the same time. If you've ever seen strobe lights on in a formation of aircraft, or at night with traffic around you, all flashing aircraft lights blink at the exact same time, which isn't all that impressive. Improved Aircraft/Airfield Lighting - To go one step further, on lighting - it's currently pretty ugly and artificial/X-Plane looking. Cockpits are loud, and violent sounding. Not these quiet, soothing environments where the only sound is a nice little whine of the engines. It's a combination of roaring, and wind. Comparison videos: 8:02 of video. And video. Dynamic Ground Vehicle Damage - Just like aircraft have the ability to be dynamically damaged, I'd like to see ground vehicles have this ability too. Currently, ground target "kills" are based on triggers. You fire off a short burst of 30mm, and the vehicle is triggered to catch on fire, blow up, and turn black. I'd like to see vehicles be demolished, blown apart, and less scripted. I want to actually have to do a BDA, and see if the vehicle is truly destroyed or not, by looking at how incapacitated it is. So, the P-51D is actually a product that is in more than one series. And, does not indicate the P-51D simulation is merely a demonstration of the ability to introduce new eras into DCS. Am I understanding now? Also, my guess for you wondering why most people consider DCS to be a modern simulator, would be the fact that the campaign, the 'story' if you will, of DCS, is officially dated as being in the 21st century. Also, I don't believe I'm wrong in mentioning most people flocked here because of jets. These forums, and Eagle products have been around long before the DCS series came about, right?1 point

Чиж, большая хотелка лично от меня (уже где-то озвучивал ее). Можно ли создать в группе "Триггеры" обычную папку, куда можно складывать все триггеры, относящиеся к какому-то одному действию? К примеру, на карте есть 10 бортов. И когда каждый из них входит в эту зону, высвечивалось определенное сообщение. На это сейчас нужно 10 триггеров "Один раз", к примеру. А так можно было бы их все засунуть в одну папку, дабы не мельтешили перед глазами. Когда в миссии используется много триггеров, порой начинаешь путаться какой и куда относится. Или вам это когда-то уже предлагали и вы отказали из-за отсутствия интереса к данной хотелке?1 point

Yea, here's the description from one I flew a little over two years ago. Remember guys: 1) This mission was not scripted, so the amount of time spent having to make it equals zero, and we had no idea what it would be like when we took off. 2) This mission counts towards advancement in the campaign. While we were shooting bandits, other packages of aircraft, doing unscripted, completely different things, were able to get through to their targets because of us. The aircraft we shot down will not be available to the enemy to send against us on future missions. In short, not only was this mission hella fun, we felt like we had accomplished something. k, here it is: That was honest to god what happened in probably the most exciting Falcon 4 mission I flew, ever. We "only" got 3 bandits (and damaged a fourth), but we flew into hell and back. Anyway, while that was probably the most exciting mission I ever flew in falcon 4, there were actually a lot of really exciting moments like that. Scripted missions can match the action, the first time or two, but they can't match the sense of accomplishment. First of all, you know that scripted missions were designed to be survivable (usually...) and secondly, how well you do in a scripted mission doesn't really effect how well you do in the campaign (other than mission success or failure).1 point

Вот интересное видео. Финн купил себе на день рождения полет на мустанге. Прикольные полетушки. Честно говоря, я уже с нетерпением жду выхода симулятора. Но чем больше об этом думаю, тем больше понимаю, что одному мустангу не выжить. Вы просто обязаны продолжить серию. Одному, в мире Кавказа, А-10 и Акулы мустангу определенно не место. Вот еще интересно на 6:30 мин этого ролика скорее всего скорость в климбе упала и самолет летел на грани срыва. Видна вибрация плоскостей. Это будет реализовано в симуляторе?1 point

I have the Force feedback version of that stick and I can't fault it, the non-FFB version is also a very decent Stick for the Price. Nate1 point

The T-flight HOTAS is a decent controller if you're truly that strapped. It is certainly a cheaper unit, but the separate throttle will serve you well (especially for flying a heli), and the rocker at the front of the thottle gives you another choice for rudder control (I've personally never been able to use a twisting stick for effective rudders). IMHO, it's be hard to beat at this price point. If your focus is precision flying, you might want to consider the T-16000M, though you lose the separate throttle and rocker arm, and I don't know what price that would go for in your market.1 point

Not to distract from this thread, but when DCS Fighter comes out, it will attract the attention of the entire flight simming community, and in turn the wider gaming audience to a lesser extent. DCS Fighter is of the utmost importance to ED, and will determine their future success or eventual fade into obscurity, which is why they must get it right. This means having much of the features a great simulation is expected to have (such as a great campaign, excellent online play, wonderfull modding capability, and of course modelling of the aircraft in exquisite detail). I know ED is capable of two of those, but hopefully they can also improve in areas such as their campaign system and their modding capability (the are signs this is happening). The thing I am looking forward to seeing the most is how their mission generator system progresses, hopefully towards something which resembles an unfolding campaign. But anyway, back to the mustang. Everyone needs a midlife crisis, even ED.1 point

Switches, in the Ctrl-1 case they're not assigned to anything else in other program, in the case of radio button they're just assigned to the radio menues as well. For Push-to-talk I use the Joystick paddle.1 point
