Tanker is keep speeding up during refuel every time. Is it because he's getting lighter? Shouldn't the pilot (or autopilot) compensate to maintain constant speed? Beginning of refuel Towards end of refuel

Everyone need to find what works best for them. It really depends on the system and headset. But I am reading somewhere FXAA is better with MSAA and SMAA is better by itself but those opinions are also all over the place. Great thing about ReShade is that you can see the change in real time so test and find out. And share your findings.

Not as much but I am also getting better performance than FXAA. About 0.2ms. And does look better. There are lots of filters to play with. FakeHDR and LumaSharpen also nice visual improvement but debating whether the performance is worth it. About 1ms on my system. Maybe not as much on higher end systems. Also played with depth based effects such as AO and SSR but anything to do with depth doesn't seem to be working in VR. Maybe because VR is already using depth buffer. Did you install the previous one I posted first? This version allows other ReShade filters to work.

I seem to be getting better quality with SMAA. AA quality is quite good but without getting as blurry as FXAA. Still testing performance. You can just drop these two files in /bin/reshade-shaders/Shaders/ and choose SMAA in Home menu. SMAA.fxSMAA.fxh You can't use both FXAA and SMAA. FXAA will override SMAA. Edit: You need to install the Mod version I posted earlier before applying SMAA and other ReShade filters. VR Sharpen FXAA

Still trying to find optimal setting. It's definitely better than Nvidia FXAA. At least very customizable between performance and quality. Some detailed information about each settings if you open FXAA.fxh with Notepad++

I searched and found thread about blue fog about 3 years old so I'm not sure if this is old bug. But I did not notice this on this mission before 2.7. And unlike the older reported bug, this one only seems to happen at sunset. This was taken from Operation Piercing Fury mission 3 at Kutaisi. All mods uninstalled. Weather condition of the mission.

Some pixelated specular lighting on your Summer. But not on your Spring. Shots taken at Kutaisi at 20:30

Just default managed by application.

Any of you tried combining this with the full ReShade? I combined FXAA and while not as good as MSAA, it's definite improvement at very little performance hit. Definitely reduces the shimmer that comes with sharpen. You can use it with MSAA too. There are GIF artifacts in the shots below but they're close to how it looks in VR. 100% Enlarged 200% Packaged as a mod. I believe first time running, you need to open "Home" menu and check FXAA on. Setting of course can be changed in the "Home" menu. Above shots are taken with default FXAA setting. VR sharpen FXAA.zip

I think you need at least two to set it up. Base station 1.0 used to be $99. Price went up.

Looks like you got the balance just right.

Just delete the winter from the mod.

I canceled my pre-order. I think my system upgrade is first order of business so even tho I can't buy graphic card, I decided to upgrade CPU, RAM, and MB. Plus, Amazon directly sells HTC Vive and I figure I'll get it with 12 month no interest later.

I thought kegety's was mostly performance mod. I didn't see any improvement from albedo.

I'm not expert enough to do a tutorial so this is more of sharing newbie's experience. I'm sure this probably isn't the proper or realistic method. But I've seen people asking for Easy AAR mode so maybe it can be an option to others who are having difficulties. I watched a lot of AAR tutorials that said to focus on the pylon/tanker rather than the basket. I tried it for two missions and just couldn't get it to work. Maybe my controller isn't good enough or my peripheral vision is bad, I'm not sure. So I decided to try using autopilot and using this method, I was able to connect 100% of the time. Video below is the footage of me trying this method for the first time.

This is what you need.

Better Smoke V22 for DCS 2.9
Taz1004 replied to Taz1004's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
I just realized the runway craters are TGA files instead of usual DDS. So I blew away the alpha by mistake. Fixed on first post. -
Better Smoke V22 for DCS 2.9
Taz1004 replied to Taz1004's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
I have not tested on runways but it's all same texture. -
There's two BRA callouts. Line 454 and Line 455. I believe 455 (VectorToNearestBandit) is the request but I haven't tested.

I think they changed the promo to that subscription.

Better Smoke V22 for DCS 2.9
Taz1004 replied to Taz1004's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
UPDATED to V13 Updated crater textures. The new crater textures were 3 sets (diffuse, normal, roughmet) of 2048x2048 resolution 32bit textures. Used to be 256x256 8bit in 2.5.6. So I shrunk them way down and 8bit. I hope this is proof enough that higher bit depth and resolution doesn't necessarily equate to better quality. This seems to be IC safe based on my testing so both MP and SP are updated. But some reported IC issue last time even tho it worked on my end so if you run into IC issue with MP version, please let me know.- 840 replies

They offering another $50 off for Vive Pro owners for limited time... I'm tempted but hesitating because I know my aging PC wont be able to take advantage of all the new pixels. And still can't find a graphic card. Guess I'll just put it as business expense.

Exclude feature would be immensely useful. I want to search everything related to Hornet for example but don't want to sift through hundreds of single missions and liveries.

You can try this until it is fixed.
