  1. New nose render. Yes it's jumbled but my modeller also added some picture to it to give it depth, and the image is from a model, to show the accuracy. And currently it's jumbled because the intent was to show the the nosework: Currently at this time, it's at 15,000 polys. I expect it to end up around 60,000, but that's my own guesstimate...
  2. AFAIK yes. But there are some pics that I need to get, been moving around a little bit so I've been offline for a day so when I get them I'll post them on the progress.
  3. The modeller, Sundevil, is using Open FX Designer to view it, and you can see it on the upper lefthand side with the fuselage ;)
  4. Just a slight update. Pretty much, Sundevil is redoing the whole model. As mentioned when it was cut down, it was pretty much, jacked up. There's another word, but hey, gotta watch the old language. At this time he's redoing the nose as of last asking, so it's still being worked on, it's just taking some time.. So I guesstimate final poly count.... 50-60k, maybe more, but hopefully that will be okay.
  5. Yes, I have run out of activations, yes I have contacted Customer Support. Are they alive? I rebought it (yeah yeah) and so far no response. Just seeinig if there's a pulse with CS...

  8. I'm waiting until the US release. I downloaded the UK version, but the graphical requirements are just too huge (OFP even has greater framerates! and nearly looks as good now...) As mentioned, the graphics are great after 1800 (when I get decent framerates) but when you've played OFP/VBS1 for so long, it's like "what's new?" About the only thing cool was the animations for scopes, and the Stryker was cool to drive, but that's about it. On that thought, maybe the topic should be "Who bought ArmA and turned their attention away, but realized it's crap, so they returned." That's what I did, returned back to LOMAC and WOE. Hell I reinstalled GRAW just so I can have a "decent" shooter.
  9. In FC the sams got uber accurate so the reason one isn't going through is because it's being shot down by the target ship's SAMs from it's max distance. I would suggest just volleying them (you and your wingie firing) and move on. Anti-ship missions don't seem that fun when you're using ASMs anyways.

  11. Some updates, it turns out the 26k poly version was a little more messed up than I had expected (or anybody really). Anyways, Sundevil has taken up the effort in correcting the model, and here's what he's correcting, and has done: What he's fixed. What's being fixed He has the original model so he's steadily redoing and replacing parts as needed, with the colored objects so far the items that were fixed.
  12. I've ridden in a -53 a couple times, a Blackhawk, and a Chinook. I had better rides in the Chinook and -53, but the Blackhawk I nearly puked in the second time I rode in one, and done two combat landings in a C-130 (the pucker factor really goes up at night!), so if I get a ride in a V-22 I think I'll be okay, but who knows.... And shermangogg, you lose one rotor (tail or main) you're just as screwed. And what IguanaKing mentioned, you lose something in a -53... yeah it wouldn't be any prettier. Matter of fact one landing the idiot pilot nearly put the tail rotor in a treeline. Idiot.
  13. Yup, so far it's coming along. Alot of things had to be redone, so more than likely it'll be a bit over the 50k limit, but oh well :)

  19. Wait until you see the texture work, makes me feel like I'm a newbie... It's just beautiful, anyways one problem: It's a good thing you don't have to land a carrier on it :D If it's just a texture on a map, and won't affect anything then I'd suggest highly changing the texture to a clear .tga file. While in some cases it's not too much of a problem, it's kinda glaring as even the air jockeys need to see alot better, especially on finals :)

  21. Well there are missing faces, so it'll have to be touched up with that. I re-sent the model in .3ds so you shouldn't (hopefully) have the mental ray issues...

  24. No, it's called "gross, repugnant material". I'm not much of a Raptor fan myself, but at least don't desecrate it with that on top..
  25. You really didn't look at the topic right above, "ED's plugins"? Basically you have to have MAX 7 to export to this format, with the plugin installed of course.
