  1. I wished this wasn't moved here. I liked having a thread with info about all the micro-updates right in DCS: World. =\ I get the black buildings also via the TGP. One other thing that bugs me is the buildings flickering when you get close. I'm told they always have done that but I'm noticing it more lately.
  2. I have the 2nd Upgraded BS pit and I just noticed the mirrors are a bitmap ( I have mirrors turned on) and the gauge on the right bottom of the pic is slightly messed up. Other than that the pit looks great!
  3. Does anyone know if the explosions are fixed in the latest version? ( 6288 ) Last version I played I couldn't use rockets in the shark because it was a slide show.
  4. Interesting. So you'd rather deal with those problems for a few months until the next major patch and have to re-do all your control settings instead of wait a few days? Makes sense....:ermm:
  5. Interesting. :megalol:
  6. I'm pretty sure multiple people have said it's being worked on. So yes again, they're planning on adding a change log of sorts. EDIT: For people that don't like reading the whole first 3 pages... :music_whistling: :smartass:
  7. Oh I thought even Nate said he experienced it without alt-tabbing. :suspect:
  8. There was another small discussion about this in the DCS: World Updates Thread. I think somebody there also ran the game in windowed mode but still had the black buildings, without alt-tabbing. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=94905&page=43
  9. Does that mean we don't have to Alt-Tab when a mission starts anymore? (If we run in full-screen)
  10. Mirrors Hey guys, I was just wondering if there was a hot key for turning Mirrors on and off. I basically like and use the mirrors in the Black Shark but I don't like them on in the A-10C. Any way I have have them on for one aircraft but off for another? Thanks
  11. Is anyone else experiencing this? If it's been this way since the existence of DCS, I feel like I would have noticed it by now.. Flying low over cities with the shark is a very different experience now with the flickering buildings, maybe it's just happening closer to the airplane, so now it's noticeable? Also, I've noticed that the buildings turn pure black or pure white when zoomed in the TGP, depending on whether it's set on white hot or not. It's like the textures just don't show.. I'm just curious if anyone else is noticing this. Thanks, love the auto-updater btw  EDIT: This is also not with the latest build so I apologize if this has been addressed. I downloaded the latest build last night not this morning.
  12. Exactly what I was thinking. Not sure about the new APU sound either, and I get the buildings flickering also when flying low. Seems to me the first time I "look" and things they flicker once.
  13. Perfect. I love how this smoke effect looks. Beczl knows his stuff that's for sure.
  14. 1 YEAR for a 3D cockpit. Man I wish I had that kind of time to create assets at my job. No wonder things are taking as long as they are. I can't even imagine how long Nevada will take on that time frame.
  15. Hey, DCS welcomes different levels of fidelity. I'd be all in for mowing zombies down in an F-22.
  16. Hey Antorian, Not sure if this will help you but before I upgraded my system, I had an intel Q6600 at 2.4GHz and an HD5770 video card. I had the same dilemma, whether to upgrade my video card and see if that improved my DCS performance or upgrade my whole system. I ended up buying an H70 cooler, and OCing my CPU to 3.2-3.3 GHz, and it DID help immensely. I would say before you even get the 670, try getting a decent cooler, and overclock your current CPU. If you're still not happy with the improvement, then go ahead and get the 670 since you can always use it in a future build anyway. I doubt that card is going to be pushed anytime soon.
  17. If devs wanted high salaries they wouldn't be developing flight sim add-ons for a niche market.
  18. I was wondering if any of you tried out this game and what you thought of it. I just started playing last night, so I haven't had a chance to try out more vehicles and such but so far, I love it. You have to take fuel, ammo, repairs into account. Supply trucks are important, as vehicles rank up they retain that rank into future missions also. Can't wait to check out helicopters and SAMs, etc.

    Battlefield 4

I agree. I had a great time with BF3 and running around with a good squad is even better. If I had to complain about something, it's Origin. If BF4 is on Steam, omg. Game, set, match.
  20. ED should just stop selling the BS2 Upgrade, then they can just combine all the BS2 upgrade and BS2 full keys. New players will be forced to buy the full BS2 but I'm pretty sure 99% of people that own BS1 already purchased the BS2 upgrade. That's the only reason I can see for ED to still keep these keys separate, so new players can't buy the upgrade and just use it without having purchased BS1.
  21. I'm a little confused with the wording of all this. Does this mean that you can "bind" a computer to this serial number and you will no longer have to use up your activation every time you re-install the game/module? Or is this something else.
  22. I had the same issue Dragon. I was either too far or too close. It's easy to see if you're too far because in the editor it shows the maximum range of artillery. But there is no minimum range circle inside the editor so, I placed my artillery just a little inside the maximum range circle and it worked fine after that.
  23. +1 We mentioned this in another post but I was just playing SupCom: Forged Alliance earlier today. It's the most useful interface/hot key set up I've ever seen in an RTS. Might as well take from the best right?
  24. After playing this for a day or so now, I see a lot of areas that need improvement for me to actually want to play as a Ground Commander. -Collision -Terrain mesh detail -Different Icons for dead units, last spotted units, etc. -Timer for artillery -Turret control (I'd like it to work more like World of Tanks, where you can move the mouse as fast as you want, but the turret takes time to catch up to where you're aiming, right now, if I move the mouse too fast, the turret "overshoots" where I'm aiming) -Minimum and maximum ranges for artillery whilst in F10 view. -Setting way points and missions for AI controlled aircraft. (I think this might come in the future) -Better User Interface for F10 view, (look at any RTS out there) with better hot keys (arrows for panning, right click to move units, selecting multiple units) That being said though, it's a great first step, it's still just 98% flight simulator, 2% everything else. Can't wait to see what comes in the future though!
