That would save on some frustration, I'll give it a go. Thank you.

Out of interest can you lock onto things with the cannon? Or is it just a case of learning how to maneuver properly? I had a quick play but couldn't hit anything lol...
-
Me neither, still haven't got a clue how to work the systems, just had fun flying around in it a few times. I really should get around to learning a few things on it...
-
I hadn't heard this, sad news when anybody passes. RIP.
-
It's certainly different, I usually stick with the same three, P-51d, A-10c and FC3 as they are my favorites, but I love the way individual modules get their own themes and there is something for all tastes.
-
So the main word so far seems to be potential. That's a good start, I hope the production pieces build on that to an acceptable level.
-
I know, I regularly post to the cockpit footage thread, lately I'm just getting black screens a lot of the time. Seems I'm not alone as I've seen more than a few lately.

I don't think the problem is hitting the target so much, it is that that target maintains 100% control and power etc no matter how much damage he has taken, that certainly is down to the game currently.
-
Youtube linking seems to be hit and miss on the forum of late for some reason.

I tried taking off today, it ended in four fireballs before I gave up and jumped into the Mustang. Surely the real thing can't be this difficult to control?
-
I tried it out quite a bit today, I don't mind the new sounds, I quite like them actually and think they are better than what we had before, but I do understand what people are saying about not being able to tell power settings from the noise pitch. I would be interested to see if this is true to the real thing, I suspect maybe not. Also, I realise real pilots wear ear plugs and head sets and I get that argument also. But that's the kind of thing we can easily simulate ourselves, I'd like DCS to be true to the real aircraft sounds, not what the pilot hears through his layers, if we want to stifle the sound with a headset etc, we can in the same way a real pilot would.

This is a long running problem, same thing when you're flying the P-51d in the 1v1 mission. Not only can the enemy take loads of damage but it seems to have zero effect on their performance.
-
Try this one, same video but extended at the beginning and from a different up loader...
-
I'm yet to try it, I'll give it a go later. This short but sweet video has just popped up however, if it sounds like this I'll be happy.

Trackir gave up and went mad, I had no real way of looking around other than number keys but I persisted and didn't die at least.

ED SIMS SCREENSHOT AND VIDEO THREAD!!!! (NO USER MODS OR COMMENT)

My first landing, didn't help that my TrackIR 5 choose today to throw another wobbly and I had to use the number pad to look around... can't wait for the rift!! -

Well VEAO seem confident they can deliver a product as close to the real thing as possible. We don't know what kind of access they have to it and probably never will. I don't mind having a few systems excluded as long as all the important stuff is there, I wont know what's missing anyway. I am more interested in the flight dynamics of the typhoon, if they get that right I'll be very happy indeed. -

Well I'm with you on that, and we are getting several of those and even the Eurofighter Typhoon from VEAO which is awesome!!! Can't wait to slide that Typhoon around the sky. But I'd still love to see the F16 non the less. It is an exciting jet for me, a true fighter that can go head to head with almost anything... bomb some ground targets and then fight its way back home. -
I'm hoping this is the case also. I have always wished for more sense of speed in flight sims, I don't think many (any?) have got it right yet. even when compared to watching real life videos on the same single screen.

Well that makes it the third most popular choice going on this list beaten only by the Superbug and F-14, hardly undesirable then. The F-18c they are actually developing is fifth choice. And we all know how much people are looking forward to that in reality... The F-16 made to DCS standard would be like printing money. -

No kidding, How many of us would suddenly fall ill on that day and have to stay home for the whole week. :D It has to be done at some point.. Come on, you don't know this, they probably have similar ideas to us, and I'm sure they monitor the forums with interest. Everybody here has differing opinions, they can't cater to us all, especially with the time these things take to develop. The F-18 is very much on the way, and plenty of people are enjoying the warbirds. The P-51d is a masterpiece... -

We can only hope, DCS F-16 is no doubt top of the list for many of us DCS customers. I also suspect ED will be taking this one on themselves, I hope somebody does anyway. The fact that BMS exists is no reason for ED, or any other third party developer not to try and better it. I'm sure they can once EDGE and a few new features arrive within DCS. I'd love to see it, hopefully in the not too distant future. -
I prefer raw sounds personally, but here's something a little different music wise...
-
Do high resolution monitors make much difference with regards to being able to spot aircraft in DCS? Mine is 27" and 144HZ, but only 1920x1080, I'm wondering if it would be worth biting the bucket and buying a new one. I've only had this one 5 minutes but feel like I made a mistake buying it..

The Harrier sold for £105,800. Bit of a bargain I'd say given that most super cars cost more than that these days. The Tornado sold for £36,800. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/howaboutthat/10994336/Harrier-jump-jet-sold-to-private-collector-in-the-UK.html
