  1. Excellent work! Nice changes of pace, use of slow-motion in time with the soundtrack. Loved the aircraft fading into the Sun at the end...
  2. I can kind of understand your frustration, but only up to a point due to my background in Software Development. Maybe I am missing the point but where have the Devs ever said that "Future system" means 2 years after release, or 3 years after release. Why not 5 years after release? When did they ever promise that in late 2006 there would be PC systems capable of running Lockon with everything maxed out? What crystal ball are they supposed to have used back in 2003 to predict this? Where can I buy such a crystal ball to help with next weeks horse racing results? ;) They designed Lockon so that it has a bunch of options - you can pick and choose which eye candy you want to switch on / off, users choice. Is Lockon perfect, bug free and 100% optimised? No, of course it isn't, no Software ever is. I know - I worked on Software development for real-life Radar and ATC systems for over 20 years, from 1 man-year projects to 500 man-year projects. Will Eagle Dynamics spend time and money on releasing free patches to make it so? Of course not, that would be commercial and financial suicide just as it would have been for any of the companies I worked for in the last 20 years. They only did work that some new customer was paying for (and we are talking millions of dollars), why should Eagle be any different? They're working on Black Shark because a Publisher is fronting them the money to do so. There may be folks in the Lockon Community who would wish that they were working on other aircraft (I'd like a Harrier for example) but until I or anyone else wins the lottery and gives it to them, it won't happen....
  3. Mmmmm, from memory so I could be entirely wrong, but I thought there were a couple of air-bases that did not have the searchlight trucks at the end of the runway. I thought that they were Saki? and Simpheropol?
  4. From what I can see from your pics that is a HMH-466 bird and they operate the CH-53E. Cool camo, took me a couple of looks before I figured what was odd about it :) Link to HMH-466 Home Page
  5. Good find on that dam picture Aldega - rep inbound. Now just need to get the lockon-model.com guys to make a bouncing bomb for the UK Tornado......
  6. HAZE is a very poor choice of name actually since it includes much more than just haze (as you have discovered), ie. taxi lights, night illumination flares, etc. Not that I can think of a better name though.....
  7. Good eyes Aldega, I never spotted that the first time I watched. I wonder if it is this one? Link to 2003 News story about Enguri Hydro Electric Powerplant IMHO that would be within the area of new terrain added with BlackShark that folks have mentioned in previous posts.
  8. Not had a problem like you describe myself with any bridges unless they have been damaged. My initial thought would be Mission Editor problems with the waypoints. Are you 100% sure you have the waypoints at BOTH ends of the bridge as on-road? I think that if you only had one of the waypoints as onroad then it would treat the route between the two as off-road and that would explain what you are seeing.....
  9. Before I got my plane back to the UK after a skiing trip years ago staying in Dillon (skied Copper Mntn, A-Basin, etc), I think I stayed in a Motel just off I-70 near Arvada.
  10. I like the way Goya's clean simple sig shows a nice progression of classic US fighters up to the F-15......and he's a helpful guy on the forums, so I give it 8/10. For anyone wondering about my crappy Sig, it is based on pop artist Roy Lichtenstein's most famous painting Whaam! (1963 - London Tate gallery). And yes I know I put one too many "A"'s in the whaam :(
  11. Birdy - that is nice work. I had always thought about doing it after posting a couple of Crimea train route times as examples when Lockon came out. Never had the time and you did a far more professional job than I ever would've.
  12. Caucasus Tour http://www.lockonfiles.com/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownloaddetails&cid=66&lid=62&ttitle=Caucasus_tour_by_Brit_Radar_Dude#dldetails Pretty sure it is either Waypoint 35 or 38 (or possibly it might be 32) on the Caucasus Tour. Sorry I cant recall which one, it's been a while....
  13. G_A is allowed to tell you "why the 17th"..... .....but not till the 19th.
  14. (wearing my leopardskin underwear:music_whistling: ) Je sais... je sais.... I was just hoping the B & M guys would read it and..... .....or someone else in the community would take on that translation project. But maybe you could give me an exact Lat / Long of the Hotel with the name on the side LEONAR ?? that you fly over in the Bill et John 2 trailer. I cannot find it on the map anywhere  and I really looked around.
  15. Worth it just for the 5...4...3...2...1 at the beginning. Now if I could just figure out how to mod Lockon so the buildings would dissapear into the ground and make the subs jump out of the water chased by giant fish.... Stingray reference (another Gerry Anderson puppet classic) in case the youngsters amongst you are confused - LOL.
  16. Great news..... And I'll echo G_A's plea for subtitles. Wish we could get someone to do them for Bensky & Mutch 2 as well (they were only done for the B & M 2 trailer it seems).
  17. Latest version is called LOME (extended LOTU) - available on LockonFiles, link --> LOME link
  18. Yes, just change the time on the Briefing screen. It will change all the individual unit start times within the mission as (I think) they are stored as relative offset times from the mission start. You can get some great eye candy just by messing with start times - just before/after sunrise, just before/after sunset, etc. For nighttime flying, mess around with the day to get the different phases of the moon. TekaTeka did a Mod for a more realistic sized moon, and Hawg11 did a realistic size Sun Mod - all available from LockonFiles - links below...... TekaTeka Realistic Moon Mod Original TekaTeka Realistic Moon Mod Version 2 Hawg11 Realistic Sun Mod Combine time of day with weather effects and you might find yourself simply flying around admiring the view and forget about combat altogether. :music_whistling:
  19. Really good pic of Sudak, where did you find it? Much nicer than the one I found to put in the Crimea Tour background info pack.....
  20. Just trash some nearby civilian building (naughty I know:music_whistling: ), they burn for a long time. I agree it looks very unreal. I try to add a fair amount of wind so that at least the smoke blows sideways. Increases the fun of hitting them in the first place too.......
  21. Many of Ironhands tutorials are now movies so you can just watch them in your favorite MediaPlayer. This gets around the problem of Lockon tracks being quite sensitive to being replayed on the same version of Lockon that they were made on.
  22. Check out the Caucasus Tour, it shows you a bunch of power stations, bridges, oil facilities, etc that you can set up as targets in your own air to ground missions. 23. Could someone expand a little on the explanation of what RAID mode is on the F-15 and what is presented to the pilot. I know what it means to me from my Ground based A-D radar background, but am doubtful it is the same thing for a fighter.
  24. Good work kyborgs !
  25. Or maybe the mistake was calling it a K model when they should have called it something else? Maybe B model ??
