  1. I think the members of this particular beat combo may do well. On the other hand, might marry a one-legged girl. Or get shot....
  2. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lake_Ritsa http://gagra.iatp.org.ge/rica-eng.htm I seem to recall that someone made a couple of A-10 missions using Lake Ritsa in the very early days of Lockon - might have been called "Valley Bridge" and "Tun of Trouble" ? I think they were on this site........ http://homepage.ntlworld.com/maddogmcq/myart/eshot/missions.html
  3. Not much travelling as I was working as sub-contractor most of my career so the permanent staff get most of the trips. Did have a week in Atlantic City for some meetings with the FAA.
  4. Check out a Lockon util from the French Community called LOBrief, it may give you some of what you want, http://perso.orange.fr/nicoleon/index_ev.htm Assigning unit(s) / group(s) / building(s) as targets using the TARGET button from ATTACK waypoints is what makes the diamond appear in your HUD. Incidentally this is also the mechanism by which AI units are assigned specific targets to attack. But the SUCCESS / FAIL at the end of a mission is caused by having set MISSION GOALS using the icon on the left of the screen that looks like a sniper sight. Having these as seperate actions means that a mission can have SUCCESS/FAIL goals set without necessarily having targets diamond'ed - eg MBot's excellent Urban Thunder mission.
  5. Band - Econoline Crush Album -The Devil You Know Track - SUREFIRE She goes ballistic on me Says I don't meet her needs And she's had enough I guess Me, I wish I could be Satisfied easily But I'm not Yeah Never enough, now Never enough, now Come on take it all away Never enough, take it all away She feels the pain that can heal Has her hands on the wheel Takes it in and moves along Me, I elect not to see Swim the deep tragedy Drowning in my own self interest
  6. There are 2 reasons I know of that cause this. 1. You have Lockon GOLD and it is one of the copies that have a borked FC disk. Solution - contact Evolved Games (the publisher of GOLD who are responsible for the borked 2nd disk). 2. You have put the wrong version of patch 1.12a onto your version of FC. There are many versions of FC - the downloaded version, the single CD version, the GOLD released in the USA, the GOLD released in Europe. I think all require a slightly different version of v1.12a - it is tricky to make sure you have the one that matches your FC version.
  7. Colt - you may notice that train stations in the Crimea have names as your screenshot shows. Caucasus seem to not have this. I guess that time ran out for the Devs when UBI were pushing them to release the original Lockon.
  8. Good lateral thinking regarding the AreaGoal and ReactDelay stuff. Smoke marker as a static object is excellent news too.... They would've helped ForceFeedback when he made his GangaFarmer movie :) I assume both the white and yellow colours would be available?
  9. You may regret asking us to show our ugly mugs, but here goes anyway. Spinning some Techno at a house party a couple of years ago. I've retired now, but here's some pics of stuff I worked on back in the day. Marconi 743 radar. Sold to Greece, Thailand, Malaysia, etc. Raytheon Condor SSR radar. Sold to half the countries in the world.
  10. :) Love the BRDM skin :)
  11. Love the Tiger skin - it's terrific. I don't usually bother D/L'ing many skins, but this one was worth the effort.
  12. JJ - I'm always interested in the possibility of adding new ships to Lockon. Are you saying that the MEInit edit you mentioned above will add all those ships to Lockon since their (Flanker) textures are already in Lockon (but unused). Or is it just a subset of those ships? If so, could you confirm which of the ships textures are waiting for me ? Finally if I did the MEInit edit above, would Lockon crash when it tries to go find the missing textures ? It has been at least a couple of years since I last messed with the MEInit - the heady days of adding helo's to land/take off from Neustrashimy etc. I guess I have become more cautious with advancing age......
  13. http://www.lockonfiles.com/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownloaddetails&cid=82&lid=605&ttitle=LOME#dldetails LOME is the extended LOTU (Lock On Track Util) with more features. Link to LockonFiles DownLoad above.....
  14. I've had both Greek friends and Turkish friends, they're a good laugh except when they start up about the other country, I never went drinking with both sides at the same time ;) If I was in charge at NATO, I would take the boss of the Greek Air Force and the boss of the Turkish Airforce, tell them to grow up and keep hitting their heads together till they'd had enough......
  15. Don't get mixed up between HEAT and SFF (self forging fragment). A shaped charge / HEAT warhead works by forming a very high velocity (eg 10 km/s) molten jet of metal and gas. This is due to the Monroe effect whereby a long conical space in the explosive (usually lined with a thin sheet of copper - chosen as it is heavy yet soft) when detonated will form the jet. The speed that the jet hits the armour is so high that the armour behaves more like a fluid than a solid and penetration occurs. A Self Forging fragment uses the Misnay-Scharden(?spelling?) effect and has a shallow dish shape and the metal liner is squished into a solid projectile travelling at perhaps 1 km/s. The advantage is that this retains its effectiveness against armour when detonated from a considerable distance eg 50 metres or more so is ideal for sub-munitions dropping from above (where tank armour is thinner). An analogy for a HEAT warhead is to try squirting washing-up liquid into a sink of water - do it close to the water and you can see the washing-up liquid jet keeps its consistency well into the water before breaking up. Do it from a distance away and it will not do so well. Can't think of a good analogy for an SFF :(
  16. Hellcat61 - if you are his escort why would it not be OK for you (and ya wingmen) to be one of the flights in the package. Sure you will have the same flight plan (waypoints) as the bomber but you dont have to follow them, and of course your wingman/wingmen will follow you wherever you choose to go.... A couple of definitions to help any n00bs reading this thread. Flight - consists of one or more PILOTS ( up to 4) Package - consists of one or more FLIGHTS ( up to 99 )
  17. MBot - outstanding work mate !! Regarding the problem of shadows making the target more visible from distance (big black spot), I would argue that such nets don't cast much of a shadow, certainly nothing you would see from more than a few metres away and it would be easiest to simply lose the shadow completely.....
  18. I knew what you meant by BARCAP, so now I feel old too.....
  19. Yeah.... what TacitBlue and my good buddy IguanaKing said !!! That brown camo skin, it's a beaut - ya gotta get that to Thomas at Lockonfiles.
  20. http://forum.lockon.ru/showthread.php?t=19281&highlight=Tacview There is a util called Tacview (see link above) that many folks are impressed with. Allows you to check out post-mission what you did right/wrong. Best to do a forum search for Tacview as I seem to recall that there were a number of versions of it and also that TekaTeka did some add-on files for it....
  21. Had a regulator go t1ts up on me on my first ever car. Coming up to a road junction and everything just died, and a bunch of steam and smoke coming from under the hood. Popped open the hood and managed to disconnect the battery pretty quickly (lucky I had some tools with me). The regulator was just a smear of smelly melted plastic on the bulkhead, the battery was amazingly OK after a recharge.....
  22. I remember the movie with the bus - Ikarus versus Su-27 by Csaba-Bors (from Hungary I think), that was a couple of years ago! He put in some huge headwinds (takes off in about 10 metres of runway - LOL) so he could fly into the wind alongside the bus......
  23. 1) Are you sure that F2 view is displaying metres? I think it may be displaying feet. Nevertheless 111,000 feet is high. 2) I have managed to do this several times by jumping into and out of AI cockpits with ALT/J command. _________________
  24. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=69PPqeMxNzE Saw this on UK television recently (some friends went to the live Amnesty international show) and found it on YouTube so I thought I would share it with you guys as it is the funniest thing I have seen all year :) . The guy is David Armand from a comedy group called The Hollow Men.
