Tasks not loading/causing the mission to automatically quit
RightYouAreKen replied to kb1701's topic in Bugs and Problems
I just had this happen to me in mission file MiG Killers - 02d - Lag Roll.miz. I completed the lag roll once but wanted to try it again, so I chose repeat task. It exited me out to the mission complete screen where clicking End Mission did nothing. I had to chose Close. Interestingly, on the previous mission file, 02c - Lag Pursuit.miz, I did repeat task 3 times without issue. Hope this helps. REALLY enjoying this campaign so far, your best yet! Thanks for all of your effort on it. I REALLY like the interactive checklist on this one, where performing the checklist item moves the checklist to the next step. Really slick and immersive. That along with the improved scripting of Jester to automatically increment waypoints, select radio channels, etc lets me focus on flying the mission rather than micromanaging Jester. And when working, the ability to repeat a task is a huge help in polishing the skills being taught. -
fixed Tremendous amount of flickering

Try turning off your mirrors. Worked for me. -
fixed Tremendous amount of flickering
RightYouAreKen replied to KoleTang's topic in Bugs and Problems
Confirmed for me as well! Turning off the mirrors in the Hornet stops the flashes! Thank you!!! Turning them back on brings the flashing back. Hopefully they can resolve this soon as I prefer using the mirrors. I'd previously also tried the following to no avail: Gsync on and off Shadows on High, Flat, and off Multithreaded and Singlethreaded Mission time 7am and noon -

I’m also seeing the same thing. Happens either on the right of left side of the screen with no rhyme or reason I can find. Not as frequent as this video clip shows but enough to be annoying. Usually every 3-20 seconds or so for me. 5800X3D, 3080Ti, 32gm RAM, 4K resolution w/Gsync. Never seen it on any other map. Happened even on an empty mission with just the Hornet. -
Crashes on Mission 13
RightYouAreKen replied to Solid_84's topic in F/A-18C Raven One: Dominant Fury campaign
Well glad to hear I'm not the only one with the issue. I'm new to trying out VR in campaings and I've had two crashes on M13 as the OP mentioned. First time Weed got hit and was nursing it back, DCS crashed about 60nm from the carrier, second time Weed put it in the drink so he wasn't with me, DCS crashed about 80 miles out...right after Broom 33 requested fuel states. I'll just skip it and move ahead. Super fun mission BTW! -
aircraft suddenly pitches up when crossing runway threshold
RightYouAreKen replied to prof_laser's topic in Bugs and Problems
I'm also experiencing this as well with the A-10C II on the Persian Freedom campaign. Several times in a row now right when crossing the runway threshold the aircraft suddenly pitches up. -
Campaign updates.

As a prospective buyer I appreciate your quick response and updates. I'm still working my way through several other campaigns but this one is on my shopping list. Thanks for your work on it! -
Constant Peg - Another brilliant campaign!
RightYouAreKen replied to Reflected's topic in MiG-21bis Constant Peg Campaign
I've been playing through the Viper Red Flag campaign. It's been one of my favorites so far. So well documented and executed. This was an instant day one buy for me (as is anything else from Bunyap, Reflected, or Baltic Dragon moving forward). I can't wait to dig in this weekend. -
They do when they are working, but not with this bug/issue
-
Same issue. I've notice the same problems with the P-51D and Spitfire instant action and single player missions. Really makes most of them pointless if you're wingman is just gonna fly next to you and not do anything.

How to increase Fov? it is not Server.lua

Thank you! I didn't know you could expand a .miz file like that. Brilliant! -

RightYouAreKen replied to Japo32's topic in DCS: P-51D Mustang
Did you ever figure this out? I'm having the same limited FOV on the Train Strafe mission and it's really annoying. -
In these 2v2 dogfight instant action missions for the Mustang on the Channel map, I think the radio isn't set up with the correct presets to communicate with your wingman. As a result, he just flys in formation with you until he gets shot down by the enemy fighters. It would be nice if he could be commanded to do his part. I manually edited the missions on my old machine to make the radio work, but I found in a new fresh DCS install on my new machine the missions are broken in this regard. I guess I'll manually fix them again, but it would be nice if they were fixed out of the box.

Curious if this ended up being fixed in 2.7? I didn't spot anything in the changelog that matched this issue, but I haven't noticed the red/orange flashes in any of my channel/normandy flights/fights over the weekend.

Today was my first day trying the server but I two had no luck hovering above any troops in the woods. I'd circle around the smoke very slowly and never get any popup or any kinda of indication on where they were. -
Oh cool, that's great. I'll check that out, thanks!

Just came to post up after I just finished the first mission too. A lot of fun! Here are some thoughts of mine: The good stuff: 1) I REALLY like the complete set of radio voiceovers. Not having to hear the clunky DCS ATC comms really increases the immersion factor 2) BIO's briefs are really well done. Clear, fluent, to the point, with just enough personal touches to make it feel real and engaging. 3) The checklists, procedures, and kneeboards are great, and very useful. 4) The BFM was done really well so far. I like that you can go guns on and a new lead would spawn for the next set. Worked well. 5) The skins look great! Nit picks: 1) Having the lead be a red coalition meant Jester was freaking out on ingress, so I had to mute the ICS, then re-enable during the BFM sets so he'd give me the callouts. I imagine that was a DCS limitation though since we ingressed in formation and immediately launched into the first set. Egress the lead was a blue coalition aircraft so there wasn't the same "Jester freakout" factor 2) I'm still guessing a bit where our parking area is. Maybe I've missed it in the kneeboards, but having a Nellis facility map with the squadron's marking marked would let me be sure I was shutting down in the right spot. Overall, really stoked on the campaign. I'm new to the Tomcat, so I'm using this campaign to be my training, which feels appropriate. Really digging it and I'm sure it's going to really help me feel more comfortable in the jet. RTB after a successful training session Damn brah, that was a great first mission, wouldn't you say Jester? I concur Bozo! TOMCATS!

No worries, thanks for the quick reply! I just played the Fly-In mission and the voiceovers and immersion are going to be incredible in this campaign! Super excited to see what's to come.

Sorry for being dense, but I'm not finding them. What are they called? (Note, this is my Open Beta install even though it doesn't say so, since I originally migrated it a long time ago from Stable)

So, at the moment, you don't have any logical buttons higher than 64 mapped (right hand pane in your above screenshot). The Logical buttons are what windows sees as output from the device. The physical buttons are internal to the joystick and are not output to windows. Are you saying that you've tried to map something to logical button 65 in the right part of your above screenshot and DCS didn't recognize it? I have logical buttons mapped up to logical button 68 and DCS seems them fine.

Advise on which springs and cams on the MKiii
RightYouAreKen replied to witwas's topic in VKB-SIM Flight Gear
The Avia H (hard center) will have more of a solid center detent feeling than the Avia S (soft center) which feels smoother through the middle but without as strong a feel when you're centered on each axis. I like the soft center cams myself. -
For what it's worth, since the F-18 adapters aren't available in the North America store, I bought a Warthog/F16 adapter and slightly modified it to fit. Just a little filing with a metal file and it fits fine, and the electrical connections also appear to work fine. Here's a pic of the slight filing needed to get it to fit. Also, I don't think the W cams are being shipped anymore. The North America distributor told me that they are long obsolete. I'm using mine on a 100mm extension with the pre-installed Avia-S soft center cams and a single 50lb spring on each axis. I wouldn't want to go much softer, but it returns to center reliably and doesn't feel floppy. I don't feel the urge to add any more spring tension after a few hours last night doing some Case Is, AAR, dogfights, and air to ground cycles. It feels very precise and smooth. Definitely very happy with the setup!
