I've just run a test and with an "X" channel, even with the BEARING option not selected, the tanker (KC-135MPRS) provides bearing. The BEARING option in the Mission Editor seems to have no effect.

Makes sense! Thank you for the reply!

Hi all! 1) Stations 2/3/5/7/8 loaded with 2xMK-82 LD 2) Release: MANUAL 3) QUANTITY: 2 4) MULTIPLE: 2 5) Before releasing, I select station 5 6) I pickle and two bombs are released: 1xstation2 and 1xstation5 Question: weren't the two bombs on station 5 supposed to be released? why an asimmetrical release?

Hi all! I've noticed that the only USA ranks available in the logbook are USAF. Wouldn't it be possible to have USA NAVY ranks and insignia, too? Thank you!

Like on the real plan, you'll need hunderds of attempts to get proficient...believe me...

Thank you Pete_auau! I was referring to purchasable campaigns. I know they are built around a story-line but my question was more about how they developed as missions progressed: do they take you from easier to harder tasks and do they throw in technical and procedural concept/explanations? I guess all of them are entertaining but I was looking for something informative, too.

Hi all! One quick question: what available F/A-18 campaign increases the difficulty as missions move on and teaches you procedures and technical stuff along the way? Is there anything like the A-10 qualification campaign? Thank you!

Hi all! I currently have two manuals in the doc folder. Assuming that the one with the CC version is the latest, would it be possible to remove the old one automatically (and never to show up again) as part of the next update? Thank you!

What Swift says. I see that you have the HMD on (from the knob on the bottom right). When you look straight down the HUD with the HMD on, the HMD symbology is removed and only the elevation above the horizon is retained.
-
If it is on the left side of the HUD and it has a "G" next to it, it is the current G your aiplane is experiencing. A picture would help us understand what you are talking about though.

In the briefing window (accessible by ALT+B), check the value of turbulence. The "wobbling" is typical of turbulence (at low level flying) -
I know that the knob should be in the ON position to have oxygen flow and that the lack of oxygen is simulated in DCS; of course, this is something real pilots do but they have the benefit of actually breathing in their masks to check if the system is working... As for the checklist, I was referring to the one in the NATOPS (chapter 7) which states for left console interior check (before the engine is started): OBOGS Aircraft 5. OBOGS control switch - OFF a. OXY FLOW knob - OFF b. OBOGS monitor pneumatic BIT plunger - VERIFY UNLOCKED AND FULLY EXTENDED I do believe some modules out there (Mig-15 if I remember correctly) have the opening of the oxygen valve as part of their procedure startup, that is, the valve is closed when cold & dark. This, I believe, not only would get the startup closer to the actual procedure but would add a little realism flavor in it...

This too but what I really envisaged was more something like real pilot-to-pilot interations when in no-radio situations. A Jester-like menu would allow for a higher number of hand signales and of course an easier access to them. This is a bit out of the scope of the OP but I thought worth mentioning anyway.
-
Hi all! Not really a bug but just something I would like to point out about switch&knob positions before starting the plane. I thought this would be the most appropriate section and I apologize if I miscalculated it... Most of knobs & switches positions in the DCS F-18 once you jump in the cockpit are according to NATOPS Interior Check section. Only the following disagree and should be: - Oxygen flow knob - OFF - Mode 4 switch - OFF - Comm1 and Comm2 knobs - OFF Not a game changer but I thought I would point it out so that maybe we could have a very realistic cold&dark configuration which is already 99% accurate.
-
On a side note, pilot hand signals would be cool, too...accessible via jester-like menus or something like that...

Cyprus looks amazing! Now let's move on to the rest of the Mediterranean!

Hi all! It would be great to have a function (e.g. waypoint option) allowing us to switch on/off external and formation lights. Right now it seems there is no clear rule about lights management by AI... Thank you!

Here is the track! I referred to the ---C value above CSEL in the bottom right corner of the HSI screen. WPDSG CRS.trk
-
I use it occasionally on planes that do not have intergrated GPS. I voted for INDIFFERENT only because YES was formulated as "only means of navigation used" which is not my case. I would like to remark here my "please, provide NS430 caability and cockpit intergration!"

Hi all! When designating a waypoint as TGT through WPDSG, if I set a course line with the CRS switch (let's say I want to align to a runway, for instance), the course line appears in the HSI but the "C-value" indicating the minimum distance to the radial does not appear in the bottom right corner (it does if I set a course on a waypoint or TACAN). Is this working as intended (assuming maybe you shoud use an O/S) or not? Thank you!

Well, I was only referring to the lower limit but I see your point. Kinda like the trim setting between 44k and 45k... -

Hi again! For catapult launches, I'd add that if the gross weight is 45000lbs and more, MAX power (aka AB) is required. Written in the NATOPS... -
Well, mostly done and, FD apart, only minor items are left.

Thank you all for the replies. Usually I search the forum before posting...not this time though...too eager to be first...

The picture in my previous message was taken with ground power on and it seems the SMS was not updated with the weapons carried. After engines are on and the loadout is actually loaded in the SMS here is the result: About 1400lbs difference...
