OpenXR Guide - Deprecated - This time for real (▀̿Ĺ̯▀̿ ̿)
Dodge replied to nikoel's topic in Virtual Reality
Yes, it does seems so. I have the Steam DCS variant installed on my system and have managed to run DCS via WMR and without it calling SteamVR. So it does seem to work. I just had to get used to starting DCS from within WMR (never done so before). -
Hi All, I would like to add custom pages to the VAICOM kneeboard (e.g. checklists, etc.) but I have absolutely no idea how to do this. I've checked through the VAICOM manual and can find no reference; I'm therefore reaching out here to ask that if this is possible, and if so, how is this achieved?

Returning to DCS, new to VR - plea for help
Dodge replied to BigBANGtheory's topic in New User Briefing Room
@BigBANGtheory- I don't have a Vive Pro 2 (HP Reverb G2 user here). However, if you are a discord user I recommend heading over to 'VR4DCS' as they have a wealth of users who are likely to be able to assist. I think the direct channel for Vive users is here. -
resolved DCS 2.7.11 - VR cursor persists too long

+1 I've also noticed this as well. -
PointCTRL - Finger Mounted VR Controller
Dodge replied to MilesD's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
If I recall, I'm sure mine was 1 year to the day (ordered 6th January 2021, received either the 4th or 6th January 2022). Once calibrated/dialled/tuned in, it's a great little product that works quite well - @MilesD was fantastic at providing personal assistance with my setup first time around I recommend connecting to the PointCTRL discord and messaging @MilesD on there to get an estimation.- 3421 replies

High VR textures causing dropped frames - Solved by turning HAGS on!
Dodge replied to edmuss's topic in Game Performance Bugs
+1 to noticing the issue, and have done for some time. My own process is to restart DCS after a server restart, changing servers or settings change. While cumbersome, it seems to resolve the issue most of the time. -
Poor VR Performance unless game is restarted.
Dodge replied to Sleepy Joe's topic in Virtual Reality
I've noticed the same thing ever since I've started with VR (and DCS). My regular go to in the following situations of 'server restarting or changing servers' is to close DCS and restart it. As a Steam user I sometimes also restart SteamVR (especially if I notice the SteamVR area (The circular lines view) having a jitter/judder effect). I'm assuming here (not knowing how it works) is that 'something' (whatever something is) isn't 'RAM, resources, temp' isn't clearing/shutting down cleanly (or at all). -
AMD 6900xt tuning and settings for VR in dcs. My optimal recipe.
Dodge replied to TED's topic in Virtual Reality
@TED >>> 8. USB ports. Yeah…this one took me a long time to work out. Dodgy power supply from the usb especially to the g2 will definitely cause a lot of stutters. After almost a year I realized the usb power supply to my g2 was not entirely linear, causing small spikes and drops and it increased over time. The cable was basically crap. If you are getting lots of spikes then look into this. Anything that disrupts the power to the headset will cause surges and drops. It can be the reverb cable or the USB ports themselves. First check is to try different ports. Ideally for the headset a usb 3 port if you don’t have a usb c port in your gpu. However I think most 6900 have a usb c in the gpu. >>> If you haven't done so already and your HP Reverb G2 is still within warranty, contact HP (ask for the Workstation team who double-up or take calls on half of VR) for the revision 2 of the cable. This will help reduce the issue reported Part Number: M52188-001 Part Description: SPS-CA ACTIVE 6M BLACK /W SWITCH Photo of the two cables can be seen here (This is larger and has a power switch) -

My MFD's (well the screens) are gathering dust as I find it difficult to use with a Reverb G2. However, I do still use the MFD's (buttons). As long as they are positioned so they feel comfortable I find that I can get to the right buttons 50% of the time :-D. I keep intending to add some form of little indent stickers to the buttons to make it easier to ID where I am/should be pressing. At worst, if possible at the time, I raise the headset, or use the 'pass-through' on the Reverb G2 (If I say 'Torch On/off' it will allow me to see if MFD's though the lens - Note: I also use VoiceAttack)

@Maksim Savelev- If you have discord it might be worth asking over at the 'Varjo Gamers Club' discord. You can find it here

Any other updates since (or shortly before) the update (Windows, GFX, others?), or configuration changes (e.g. within NCP)?
-
Unlikely, but its worth trying if you don't already have the latest firmware installed for your Reverb G2 HP Reverb G2 Audio FW Update https://support.hp.com/gb-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-reverb-g2-virtual-reality-headset/33835976/model/33835980?sku=1N0T5AA Fix and enhancements: Resolves a potential issue where displays may flicker or go black when playing certain titles at high volume levels.

I'm not sure what country support you are using for HP but request to be transferred to the 'Workstations' team. In the UK I'm aware that the 'Workstation' team also doubles-up as the 'VR' team and logs calls for the G2 VR headset. Whether that is the same for other regions I don't know but it's worth asking if the initial caller (which might be a form of switchboard team) seems unsure what team to pass onto.
-
I also experience this occurring with mine.
-
I'm aware of Intel users being able to warranty exchange their cable. A direct friend of mine certainly has done this (UK based).

Is ED letting down their VR customers?? Yes I'm venting!
Dodge replied to RackMonkey's topic in Virtual Reality
I've assisted the OP with some setting changes which on first impression seems to have improved the situation. The OP will test it later when time allows and on the MP server he regularly connects to. -

I recommend joining the Razbam Discord 'south-atlantic' channel - I've noticed photos and snippets of information being posted by the developers https://discord.gg/PQuphDr3

No, you will not have to send a photo. Just provide them with the device serial number (located on headset, left of the lens in my instance - it's a small sticker), as well as other information (name, address etc.). If it's in stock then you'll get it next day. The G2 is considered a business product so you get business level support (I believe next business day 'NBD') when/where stock allows.
