  1. 6DOF will come with the DCS: Su-27S Flamming Cliffs.
  2. For the principle, why not. But I think DCS World, as in its current state, would not fit with liners. Liners in DCS World would be much frustrating for those who want to make real-time long-courrier flight. (Lack of ATC, Metar, Weather onboard radar,...)
  3. I would say "/" stands for "and". It would be compatible with Dx 11.0, 11.1 and with Dx 11_1 features, retro compatible with previous states of features. So, if you have a AMD Radeon HD 5000/6000/7000 series; Nvidia GeForce GTX 400/500/600/700 series; Intel HD Graphics 4000/2500 (Ivy Bridge) GPU, AND Windows 7 or 8, you'll benefit Dx 11_0 feature level. But if you have AMD HD 7000/8000 series, Intel HD Graphics 5000 (Haswell) GPU, AND Windows 8, you'll benefit Dx 11_1 features. Basically, the sim will run on any rig with at least Windows 7, AMD Radeon HD 5000 / Nvidia GeForce GTX 400 / Intel HD Graphics 4000/2500 (Ivy Bridge) GPU. (Source)
  4. Dx 11.1 (Windows 8 ) supports WDDM 1.2 for increased performance, features improved integration of Direct2D, Direct3D, and DirectCompute, and includes DirectXMath, XAudio2, and XInput libraries from the XNA framework. It also features stereoscopic 3D support for gaming and video. (Source Wikipedia) So, It increases the FPS (if the game take advantage of this feature in the code) and add native stereoscopic support. EDIT: I ticked on that one: "7- Option to project map on globe surface." Does that mean our map will be curved instead of the actual planar map?
  5. Warning, don't be confused between Dx version of 'core' and the version of the 'functionnality' or 'feature levels' So I guesstimate EDGE would run from Dx 11.0 and will profit new features present in Dx11_2
  6. Very nice update. Specifically for the thread, I'm pretty sure that the rig needed to run EDGE at its full potential all maxed out in Full HD has not yet been invented... And that's not a problem for me. This engine will last a decade, like the current one. The material will come at time to enjoy. EDIT: I just saw the clouds images again and damn, I'm convinced. Thank you ED; thank you Wags for writing this: 'Now that we are getting very close to integrating EDGE into DCS, I can share a few more details.'
  7. When talking about Navy Ops, I've always dreamed about a reboot of Harpoon series. And it's about to come: Command: Air/naval Ops If ED would add Naval Ops to DCS:CA, it's the kind of functionality I would like to see: immersive, strategic, accurate weapons database and capabilities,...
  8. If it doesn't run smooth on the first install, I'll not cry. It's a new rendering engine with full potential and maybe calibrated for the GPU's that will be sold in 2-3 years to take the full advantages. So I'll maybe have to set all to 'medium' until the next generation of GPU... Yes, in game, it might be even better...
  9. &é"çà(è&"!çè(èrp!ç"è OOOPS Sorry, just my jaw that felt off... :) Excellent job ED. Very pleased to see those pictures. Thank you Wags  Now I figure out if/how we could roll&dot on the strip... Now, let's get us REX style clouds and the World will be perfect...
  10. We (kickstarter backers) have reveived a mail from Luthier with a request in it: "...And actually, here comes out first request. We know what was flooded by the Germans for the invasion. However, we can't find any references on how it was dealt with. Can anyone provide some more info? What would you see on June 7, June 8, June 9?" Here is my answer: I found a nice website (in french) explaining many phases of the different battles, also in the bocage: http://www.libertyship.be/en/ http://www.libertyship.be/la-liberation-de-cherbourg2/ EDIT: On the question "What would you see on June 7, June 8, June 9?", my answer is obviously land combat where we can help ground troops with CAS missions or escort of CAS. But what I want to see is live action below my wings, advancing and combating troops, tanks, ships,....
  11. So is the F-35 development at slow pace?
  12. I'm sorry to have compromised your security. I did not notice it was a phishing site. I'll be more cautious next time.
  13. Smoked glass skin (http://www.classicshell.net/gallery/Start-Menu/skins)
  14. Something tells me those models are to be expensive...

  16. A talk about sales and the sim isn't even yet released... Let the project mature. Then, should we let them talk about price tag.
  17. Used it to ease the learning, back in the beta days. Now, I've even forgot it exists, so I don't use it for the other modules.
  18. Hi Kirill, nice to see you here. And thank you to take the time to answer questions. - Beside the map creation process, is the engine EDGE finalized? Or is it still under development/optimization? - Can you already tell us what kind of performances (FPS) you have related to your PC? - As it was stated before, EDGE would use Dx11. Is that still true, and what kind of optimization, shader model and effect may we see flying above Normandy? - Does EDGE would be compliant with Tessellation? (To fine 'crater' the environment) - Can DCS-EDGE 'remember' the destruction? (For example when I destroy a bridge in Mission 1, I'd like to see this bridge destroyed in mission 2 during a campaign - That could open possibilities for semi-dynamic campaign)
  19. The stuff in my sig... (Already answered by Yo-Yo)
  20. You're right. Anyway, now NVidia and AMD seems to be 'on par' with performances. I hope now the prices to be competitive.
  21. EDIT: Never mind, as you edited... ;)
  22. Source; in french: http://www.tt-hardware.com/news/hardware/leak-des-benchs-de-la-radeon-r9-290x Origin: the korean "DG's Nerdy Story" website. But the article page is no accessible anymore... Guess why  Long story short: GPU Hawaï has : - 512bits bus - 1250 MHz GDDR5 RAM - 16 chips 32bit GDDR5 - 1020 MHz for the GPU - PCI-Express : 6 + 8 pins (expect 225 to 300 watts peak) - Chip size about 430mm² -"The Hawaii die features 4 Compute Units, each CU has 11 SMIDs which makes for 44 SMIDS results in 2816 stream processor count, 176 Texture mapping Units, 44 Raster Operators." (Source, link below) EDIT: Here in english: http://www.thinkcomputers.org/amd-hawaii-r9-290x-gpu-volcanic-islands-specifications-benchmarks-revealed/
  23. Sorry, beyond my low knowledge. But surely someone else could help you. Anyway, can you post your system config? (CPU, GPU, OS (windows version - 32/64 bit), RAM amount) And if you have one, post your DCS.log from username/savedgames/DCS/Logs. Maybe there could be found some more details... Any *.CRASH files in your "DCS\Logs" folder. Any ERROR* files you find in the "DCS\Logs" folder. EDIT: Make sure to read this thread: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=114431
  24. I had the same problem: I had to re-install DCS W from scratch and when entered the module manager, it installed me CA (I don't have licence for it) and the P-51d (I have a licence) but not the all other modules I have licence. So I downloaded all the modules and installed them separately. I asked the sim to uninstall CA via the module manager and now all works good.
  25. If I well understood your question: You need to download and install DCS World prior to install the Mi-8 Module. You can download DCS World here: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/world/dcs_world/ If you already have DCS World installed, just launch the sim, it should auto update to Ver.1.2.6. When installed, run the Mi-8 installer. After the installation, launch DCS World, select a mission. Just before the launch of the mission, the sim will ask you your licence key.
