Pico 4 + Streaming Assistant: How to set ASW / Motion Reprojection?
VirusAM replied to Lange_666's topic in Virtual Reality
I returned the Pico 4 just for this reason. I was not able to use ASW (SSW really) both in VD and not in Streaming Assistant -
How Microsoft Mess up your system.

I usually just remove the Ethernet cable after the reboot from safe mode -
I don't have measures at the moment...but the pivot is quite longer then any other commercial stick. I don't know about havebug, but I use also z-extension from virpil... The mossie is unflyable with ffb sticks as you cannot apply any curve.

[NO LONGER PASSES IC] Improved Contact Dot Spotting (Updated v1.1)
VirusAM replied to Why485's topic in DCS Modding
and for me as well...I was just replying to the user above -
Forse sei nuovo.

[NO LONGER PASSES IC] Improved Contact Dot Spotting (Updated v1.1)
VirusAM replied to Why485's topic in DCS Modding
it's easier WVR, and doesn't let you lose the enemy plane which is just in front of you. But in bvr as explained by the author it is much more difficult now -
updated sold items, and added some more

Yeah today I did ton of testing and nothing seems to work
-
I tried also the ST version of DCS which doesn't use openxr
-
What is alvr? Anyway I solved the blurriness issue and it was my fault, I had an old setting in SteamVR for DCS.exe at 50% (for the reverb g2). But the lag issue is still there also trying streaming assistant with USB. I also tried other VR games and the experience is very pleasant (VTOL VR and half life Alyx) so the issue could be DCS related. Again it is not an fps issue those are ok

I don't use shaking reduction from openxr toolkit. This evening I will have more time to do some more testing

Guys, I think I need a bit of help. I retried the Pico 4 again (an offer on Amazon) deciding to give more time to sort problems out this time. I have big issues with it and I tried multiple things. 1) I tried with Wifi with a dedicated router I use near my PC. It is cabled at 1gbit/s to the main router. PC connected via cable and Pico 4 with this Wifi (dedicated to the Pico, no other devices connected). It is an old Fritzbox 3590 I already had ( I don't want to spend money on a wifi 6 router only for this). Connection is reported to 866mbit/s in Virtual Desktop . In DCS performance is good with VD ULTRA settings (72fps fixed in basic instant action missions) but the visuals are quite blurry (hud and mfds) and above all there is an huge laggy mess, every movement is not smoothed and the visuals are very strange, like stuttering but not due to DCS low performance (as said 72fps fixed) I tried also the Pico streaming assistant in Wifi mode and the results are the same. 2) I tried with USB cable using reverse tethering and DCS didn't start in the headset as every 3/4 seconds virtual desktop disconnected. 3) I tried with usb c ethernet adapter, and I have the same results as 1) but with less laggy movements. Is there some Virtual Desktop or SteamVR setting do I need to change to improve my experience? Is there an easy and reliable way to use the Pico 4 with usb C connection directly to the PC? Also in many videos I see a performance overlay in Virtual Desktop. How to enable it?I cannot find any way. If I cannot find a way to solve my issues I think I will abandon VR for the good and go to a big screen like the LG GR95QE Thanks

Any tips from AMD 7900XT/XTX users?
VirusAM replied to Grodin's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
AMD drivers and reprojection are a no-go. I tried a 6900xt last year, it was a great card but only with very old drivers (21.5.2 iirc) it was possible to have a good working motion reprojection, so I sent the card back and picked a 3090. I don't know about the new 7xxx generation but I read that many users have issues in VR so I think AMD didn't solve or did not care. I also filed bug reports and posted on AMD forums but no one cared to reply me (https://community.amd.com/t5/graphics/vr-motion-smoothing-not-working-with-recent-drivers/m-p/537998). other relevant posts from other people here (https://community.amd.com/t5/drivers-software/amd-drivers-and-vr/m-p/538001#M159193) Also @mbucchia (openxr toolkit creator) gave a very good explanation on why the reprojection doesn't work well with AMD cards and it has to do with encoder support and performance, don't know if he has any news regarding AMD's 7th series family cards -

Feedback Thread F-14 Tomcat - Update 10th March 2023
VirusAM replied to IronMike's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
No problem...my post was just to understand if I lost something in the meantime...keep up the great work. -
yes, but oculus has its own reprojection tech (ASW), it is however equally capable of deliver 1/2, 2/3 or 3/4 of syntethic frames per second. Also steamVR is cabaple of that but only with the Valve Index (not sure about HTC vive series)

Feedback Thread F-14 Tomcat - Update 10th March 2023

Hi guys, has there been an update on this?I know they postponed it to give the spotlight to ED for MT release, and I am not complaining by any means...But just to know if I did lose something the meantime... -
