Why? Simple, I am a crazy fans of F-15E (started back when I played it on my friend's Apple ][ which I did not have) and I've got my salary so that I have the itch to spend it on something...But not crazy enough to think I can download it on 3rd Feb.

I am not entirely what DLSS does to MSFS, it is just gathering virtual dust most of the time, I saw video what DLSS3 can do with other titles like Spiderman and it can fool most of the untrained eyes, which I am sure many of you ain't. -

Pico 4: how to set it up for DCS?
VR Flight Guy in PJ Pants replied to Lange_666's topic in Virtual Reality
It is always about visual quality vs framerate. Give and take. I am running VD at Ultra + OXTK without any MSAA and ASW, it gives me 50 - 72 fps (as reported by fpsVR) most of the time. -

Pico 4: how to set it up for DCS?

As the latest post says, please wait for the updated version that would allow choosing force_OpenXR on or off at switch. I am a big fan, btw. -
I some how manage to stay over 410mph in F-14B and F/A-18C with better success rate. Most of the time, the (veteran) AI is stuck with low energy, unless I am not careful and drop too much speed, it cannot even land a hit. All I need to practice now is how to make use of the new earned energy to score a gun kill, rather than manoeuvrer one. Boom-and-zoon does not work unless the enemy is a Spitfire IX. Still need a lot of work to be done one the Viper. It is as fun to fly in like the above, but need more time to get to know it. All are great tips, please keep them coming. Kudo!

For me, with no mods and it runs great. -
Next OB is planned for 1st March, let's start speculating...

Sorry, even Syria is very good for what it is, NTTR is still the top when it comes to best fps. And The Marianas is not the worst, either.

Strange things happen to me, support ticket opened. Let the pro sorts it out. I can fall back to Quest2. -

TL;DR - same, crash, no go Long: First of all, opening OXTK does not make any sense cause the toolkit itself states it does not need to be opened at all times! Also, opening both SA and SteamVR at the same time make no sense either. But out of curiosity and the spirit of experiment, I follow the steps and well, same, the same crashed before the progress bar even was on. -

Pico4 user here, using VD to connect. Even a reinstallation, no mods on either, the game still crashes during the initial progress bar or just right in. Not related to OXTK or OpenComposite. As mentioned in another thread, I managed to enjoy it for a while and 4 hours later, which changing anything, the game cannot start. Yesterday, I was able to enjoy a bit again in Pico4, by uninstalling and reinstalling SteamVR, but it still crashed after a couple of missions and then it could not be loaded once more. On the same computer, Quest2 runs very good without major issues. A support ticket will be raised. -

Strange thing: as I suspect SteamVR may have something to do with my instant crashes with Pico4. I uninstalled and reinstalled SteamVR last night and well, I can fly a couple of missions before it crashed while loading another one. After that, it returned to instant crashes again. I think I need to open a support ticket. -

See above, Quest2 works whereas Pico4 crashes. Edit DCS World stand-alone, connect via USB. -

I am not sure if OpenComposite is still needed due to the fact that DCS World can now "speak" OpenXR natively. But fingers crossed. -

Update: Quest2 works, quite brilliantly. Not as great as Pico4 and there are still ghosting at times. I am happier now. 2023-01-29 14:11:14.855 INFO VISUALIZER (Main): LAUNCH IN VR OpenXR: Oculus Quest2 Side note: no "above and beyond" problem I have with Pico4. The main menu sits where it should be I would wait for some time and revisit Quest 2 just to make sure. And I shall test XRNeckSafer also but I guess it should work. It makes me suspect that there may be an issue with SteamVR, which, I would not be surprised. -

It is an interesting behavior between DCS World and OpenXR by default. Dunno why. -

Nerdy question, are the switches case sensitive? I am wonder if I reset the GPU voltage back to normal, will it help? -
F-16 Display Readability
VR Flight Guy in PJ Pants replied to Nightstorm's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Let’s if this can replace the “F-16 Improved HUD”. BTW, will HMD get improvement too? Update: no much different in terms of MFD, and the HUD + HMD is not as pleasant as the other one mentioned. Keep it up! -

I cannot speak for others, running OB is a consciously chosen path, which means taking risks, accepting there are chances reinstallation is needed to taste new stuff early. Upset yes, disappointment, yes, but I can always fall back to SteamVR and VRNeckSafer. I hope people here understand reporting != complaining and ED will iron out all the issues some day. BTW, always submit crash reports and open support ticket where necessary. -
That would be the XRNeckSafer
