  1. after the DCS.exe add --force_enable_VR --force_OpenXR
  2. Well, as you are running in Oculus runtime or can I say it is in Oculus emulation mode? And yes, there is no studdering but it is no OpenXR. It was a bit faster than SteamVR only but a bit slower than OpenComposite. I have yet to get the latest OB up and running with native OpenXR so I cannot tell.
  3. Me, Pico4, progressively improving: after I cleared the fxo folder, it starts with crash, start again, crashes when loading the mission, start again, and it seems fine for the time being.
  4. Probably, I am in the process of reinstalling my DCS due to OpenXR issues. I will check and report back.
  5. Works for me, for now, both via OpenComposite and native OpenXR after the latest update. I am rebuilding my DCW World right now so it may change down the line. Fingers crossed.
  6. Personal preference. It's cool. When VD for Pico4 can talk directly to OpenXR, which gives no promises whatsoever, it may be better. I guess my first task is get DCS World back to what it was before removing OpenComposite.
  7. I dunno why but if OpenXR is used, it was the same back then when I was using OpenComposite to talk to OpenXR.
  8. I don't know. Only going with SteamVR giving me this and at least it is not what fpsVR is saying or switching to Oculus runtime / Quest 2 with Oculus OpenXR behave.
  9. About: same Pico4 users. I suggest you start by this: Read the first post and avoid all the arguments down there. I used to go with OpenComposite route and now it is a big mess for me to go "native". Let's sort this out together. One of the merits of going OpenXR is having nice things liek XRNectSafer which improves your SA some how, which is enjoyed by IR guys and then it is "unrealistic" when VR guys can enjoy it too.
  10. The sad thing about using Pico4 is we have to talk to SteamVR/OpenXR which means studdering at load screens...
  11. Seems stable now, "empty" DCS installation with Caucasus map and 2 free planes only. Manage to keep the save game dcs.openbeta before update sans mods. Interesting line from the dcs.log though: 2023-01-27 08:47:24.025 INFO VISUALIZER (Main): LAUNCH IN VR : SteamVR/OpenXR : oculus BTW, I am running Pico4 here.
  12. OXRTK, disable, enable or safe, makes no difference, now with the save game folder dcs.openbeta renamed and a brand new one created, the game cannot even load to main menu. Reinstallation of the whole DCS is in progress. If this still don't work, again, I either go with Oculus Runtime or back to OpenComposite. I feel very stupid wasting the whole evening trying to figure out what native OpenXR has gone wrong while 2D and OpenComposite work just fine.
  13. And then, when I try to see what mods I can use, the game becomes very unstable. But some how it is consistent -- if a mod crashes before seeing the main menu, disabling it brings you at least to the main menu. So after finding a "stable" combination, the mission may not even load! I am removing any mod, doing clean up and repair first. If it does not work, I am going to give it a reinstall. If it still not working, I am going back to OpenComposite.
  14. Another comment comes in regarding the "special version" of the rain mod:

    Quote

I like the original new a lot more, the mod looks like the overuse of a Photoshop brush and after sitting in the rain after 10 or 15 secs maybe it could be tweaked with more variations while sitting in the rain. When rolling it does look a little better if that it takes it a slight bit longer before all the rain has been removed from the glass

Hello, ED is slowly restricting to certain modifications.  Not much more can be done.

  15. Sorted, it is one of the mods in the saved games mod directory. Can figure out which one(s) go wrong. OpenXR Toolkit seems to have no problem.
  16. @RealDCSpilot I have cleaned and repaired but it did not work. Let me see what else I can do. I remove the saved games directory and it still crashes.
  17. Click on the "DCS World OpenBeta" icon, SteamVR also starts. When the title screen shows (and shakes like crazy, typical SteamVR attraction), DCS World crashes. I check OpenXR line is present on the log and from the crash file, looks like the file GraphicsVista is misbehaving. Uninstalled OpenXR Toolkit Check that no WMR reprojection is on It is Pico4 using VD. 2D version is still running fine. Any suggestion is welcomed.
  18. Okay, so I am going to delete OpenComposite, revert to the original openvr_api.dll For Pico4, I just start DCS from File Explorer or make a shortcut which force SteamVR in the command line, right? I tried the method of launching from the VD desktop icon, but it does not seem to go to OpenXR. So, how would I know that the DCS World is actually running in OpenXR or not? Yes, I notice that OXRTK, DCS.EXE is registered there. Frankly, this is the best news so far, I was too happy I could not sleep until 02:00
  19. Yup Pico is still out of luck and must use OpenComposite + Steam OpenXR.
  20. These are real gold. Thanks everyone! All of them are solutions!
  21. I use Pico4 and so I need the customised OpenVR API DLL and Steam OpenXR, so no problem for me. I have made a short vid using it.
  22. Since I got a comment, it gives me an idea -- what is the difference between this mod and the original?
  23. So, for Pico4, my test is I still need the OpenCompsite openvr_api.dll Not tried Quest2 yet.
  24. On the other hand, OpenComposite and XRNeckSafer still work for me here.
