  1. Anyone managed to find the flight manual? I only find parts of it (the interesting parts missing) or manuals for the rc model versions
  2. Or just scare the shit out of the tank crew with the sound of a few 30mm rounds impacting on their tank..
  3. First thing I switch off in every module that features it. Covers up too many switches
  4. I like the cockpit of the A-10C more. Maybe I'm more used to it, but especially flying IFR is (for me) much better in the A-10. I find it pretty hard to get used to the MFD HSI, I like the "hardware" HSI much more.
  5. You have different charts for that. Check the KLSV charts. STRYK recovery is a visual approach for example. The instrument approaches are divided into precision approaches and non-precision approaches. Every approach flown without ILS is an NPA. HI TACAN Y is a non precision approach, you would choose this in an F-18, because you don't have ILS. If you have ILS you can fly a PA, HI-ILS OR LOC Z RWY 21L for example. It's different from the HI TACAN approaches
  6. Thanks
  7. I would really like to see a european map. If it is too much detail, then the engine should be made capable of displaying it. Caucasus also has some areas that are densly populated. It's a challenge, not a show stopper
  8. A-10C is a released product, Hornet is Early Access. Maybe it gets more improved during development
  9. Same here. Only allowed to drop onto a pre planned waypoint or a in mission generated waypoint
  10. Google or Amazon? There are quite some cloud providers.. Why don't you just give us a link? Stop making such a secret out of it ;)
  11. When you fly into an area protected by SAM, AAA and Mig-29 you have a bigger problem than your SA, your problem is how deep to insert your boot into the ass of that mission planner who sent you on a suicide mission. You need CAP and SEAD... For known threats you can create waypoints
  12. Nur mit prepare mission soweit ich weiß
  13. You do know that runway numbers always give the rough runway heading? Rwy 13 is roughly heading 130, rwy 03R is 030, 21L is heading 210..and so on. Dial in the tcn frequency, set course to runway heading, then you should be fine to land. Otherwise look at the approach chart, the one I linked for example. They tell you how you have to fly, which altitude at which point you should have. Give it a try, it's fun to fly them, and when you are familiar with them you don't even have to look outside the cockpit. Fly it heads down watching only your instruments, and at the last nav point look up, find the runway, make a small correction and land
  14. Ok. Then tell me one thing. Where are the pvp missions? Team vs team where you have to conquer the other team's airfield while defending your own like F-22 ADF had? Oh wait, I know what you want to say. Of course there is operation blue flag. But this was made by the community. And these players want it to be a fair red vs blue arena. Of course we get more and more aurcraft, and of course you get matching pairs. Like F-5 vs Mig-21 or the Warbirds. But they were made, because the creators love those birds, not because "oh we need a fair counterpart for aircraft xy". DCS is a study sim in the first place. Not a red vs blue pvp wargame. That is a thing players make dcs to be. Don't get me wrong, this is fine and I wish I could raise some interest for pvp in my squadron. But it is not the first aim when modules are implemented. Dcs is also a light version of a professional military training simulator. So a big part in the decision which birds we get is "which birds are needed in the pro version AND are allowed for the game community?" So no, I don't work for ED or Razbam, but I think I am very certain, that pvp balance is not the biggest factor.
  15. Multi-crew AWACS or Tanker *heavy breathing* :D
  16. If it's not switchable, yes it does. Because then I only have the option to use an unrealistic awacs or none at all.
  17. It's not about 3D Models and propulsion systems. It's about flight performance data and avionics systems. When you post some performance charts and mfd pages, then we talk about implementing 5th gen jets. If you just want to play around with them no matter how realistic they are programmed, you should play Hawx or sth like that
  18. With the A-10, despite having counter measures and MWS, MANPADS are not your concern. In most scenarios today you have air superiority, just drop precision munitions on them from 18.000 ft.
  19. No it is not. It is printed big onto each runway end, and it is given to you when you talk to atc. You even can see it in the F-10 map Also you should learn to read these ones: https://aeronav.faa.gov/d-tpp/1812/00227HILZ21L.PDF With just this pdf you have everything you need to land an F-18 in bad weather in Nellis You totally missed the point of DCS...
  20. Just set them to the same freq in the editor. There is an input field where you also give its unit name. Also you can let them set freqs using waypoint actions or triggered actions
  21. The same freq you set the F-15 on in the mission editor, or the freq the mission creator told you in the briefing screen. A good mission creator should do that.
  22. I doubt aiming for a fair player vs. player environment is a major goal for the developers. They develop the modules they get data for and they find cool.
  23. Combining the words "simulator" and "5th gen" (which is all highly classified) in a wishlist entry, I would call that... interesting :)
  24. You are not limited to assign client slots to #1 of a flight. You can have a flight of 4 aircraft in one group, all Ford 1 (Ford 1-1, Ford 1-2, Ford 1-3, Ford 1-4) I'm not sure an AWACS can identify the type of an enemy aircraft.
