  1. I mentioned the simulator because when I was in it yesterday I asked "so this accuracy reflects the view in the real jet when airborne", aka you can see everything without moving their head. They said yes. Otherwise the simulation I was using has nothing to do with actual first hand knowledge from pilots with over 6000 combined hours flying the A-10A and A-10C. They all said they did not have to move their head around to see anything. The only time they said they had to do that was on the ground and just to view things at the top of the HUD. They all said in the air all HUD data is visible looking at the HUD, it shouldn't matter weather I'm running 4k, 1080, 720, etc. All the HUD data should be visible. 1920 x 1080
  2. Metal on the top of the HUD is as thin as possible (red arrow). The below image isn't the proper view though.
  3. Windscreen center glass is missing items (see below image)
  4. Aileron Emer Disengage & Elevator Emer Disengage lights are incorrect color.
  5. Master Caution panel lights aren't bright enough and APU GEN light does not illuminate when testing. In game picture taken at noon with the A-10C on the runway. Real world picture was taken at noon on the ramp.
  6. Meaning in VR it is better but I still have to move my head around or continuously adjust the seat up/down to see the TVV. You should see ALL HUD data while airborne (and only have a small amount at the tip cut off while on the ground) without having to move your head to see certain information. Not sure what isn't clear about that. Anyways this'll be my last post on the subject. I don't expect ED to do anything about how the HUD in the A-10C is now wrong. I am sharing with the forum community what pilots I deal with and trust said is their experience with the HUD and it validated what I remembered from my days of accomplishing maintenance/ops checks since as the Lead Pro Super I'm managing maintenance not accomplishing it. That's not correct
  7. Spent almost two hours flying the simulator at Moody AFB yesterday with three pilots giving me tips on various weapon delivery methods. To validate what I was told the previous day I also asked all of them if the view of the HUD in the sim is accurate to the actual jet and they said it is. I had no issue viewing all the displayed data. So take it how you want but based on the five 76 Fighter Squadron pilots I asked over my drill weekend what we have in DCS (2d primarily but VR to an extent) is not correct.
  8. Just got done talking to two different 76th pilots on the spot after jets landed down here at Moody AFB. Both said in the air all the data is visible on the HUD that only on the ground do you have to lower your head to see items at the top. I’m flying the real world sim our pilots train on here at Moody tomorrow morning so more to follow.
  9. Nope suite 7 plus introduced HMCS and removed the pave penny pod and we’re on suite 9 now. New wings had nothing to do with suite upgrades. Lots of other system changes that obviously the people posted on here don’t understand or know about.
  10. Likely targeted towards those that'll purchase the Supercarrier module.
  11. If I had to guess that’ll be part of the mysterious retail version.
  12. 476 vFG End of Year Flight Night...
  13. I’m holding off judgement until the first weekend of January. I then plan to ask multiple pilots at the 76th Ops Desk Saturday morning when I meet with them to discuss the flying day their opinion on the HUD in DCS with pictures. personally I don’t recall having any issue seeing info in the HUD while performing Ops Checks over my career but I’ve also been in Production now for 5 years (meaning I run the flightline now). Then on Sunday I’m flying the A-10C simulator at Moody AFB, this will be my second time flying this simulator and I know for a fact that has zero issues seeing the entire HUD display. This also leads me to believe that if truly truncated in the real jet they would have the same in the simulator. Lastly the below picture Wags posted is not from the pilots eye view. That view would be looking up slightly from the level of my chest when I sit in the cockpit. This one is closer but IMO is a little higher than eye level.
  14. The flood lights aren’t that bright in the real aircraft either.
  15. LOL obviously you’ve never sat in a real A-10 cockpit with a comment like this.
  16. Traditional monitor view needs more than a slightly tweak. In the real jet with the HUD on I can see all the information without having to move my head around drastically as I do with the new cockpit model. VR is close but not exactly correct. Also it appears that the windscreen (and canopy) curvature is wrong now.
  17. I tried to stay away and out of this thread but I have to say something. I'm not saying nighthawk2174 (or his pilot references) are correct or incorrect but...... It means someone is wrong. Maybe Wag’s buddies or nighthawk2174 & habu. The big question is what makes one set of pilots opinions have more weight than another? Did Wag’s pilot references any data or do any testing or did they “feel” it’s correct? How many times in these very forums when someone said “I feel XYZ is incorrect” only for the response to be from ED was something like “without objective evidence we feel it’s correct as is.”? I know first hand my discussion with pilots in my Reserve unit (windmilling A-10 engine as one example) was dismissed as they’re wrong not to mention my own experience on the A-10 as a crew chief being disregarded because I didn't quote specific tech data references (flaps being lowered with no hydro power or the nose wheel turning to the side by itself with no hydraulic power). We've had multiple examples over the years where verified real world A-10 pilots and/or maintenance (crew chiefs & weapons) state things were incorrect only to be dismissed or flat out told they're wrong. So, my question to ED is why do pilots that feel something is correct when Wags asks them out way another person's pilot reference or validated by people with real world experience?
  18. BDU-33s aren't on the TER correctly. DCS Module: F-16C DCS version: 2.5.5.40603 Error Description: BDU-33s aren't loaded correctly on the high speed TERS ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Desired Behavior: Adjust BDU-33 placement on TER Supporting Info:
  19. Snoopy

    Air brakes

    They’re not automatic
  20. No issues here, are you sure you have the latest range objects installed?
  21. Nothing really to be confused about, for what we were doing that was the required SKL.
