Not for the A-10 with suite 9 or suite 10. Stop spreading false info.

This was a fun thread to read through first thing this morning. Many people had pointed out the incorrect information but just to verify the A-10C HMCS never had the items stated in the first post. We’ve upgraded real world from HMCS to HObiT (Hybrid Optical-based inertial tracker) and still don’t have the symbology that the original poster is sure HMCS has. this shouldn’t even be in the wishlist section, it should be marked as inaccurate and closed to avoid confusion.

did the same thing a few months ago. Yeah DCS looks better in 2d but the loss of immersion going from VR back to 2d I just couldn’t do.

Formation Lights: White lights on fuselage?
Snoopy replied to Nealius's topic in DCS: A-10C II Tank Killer
Never heard them called that in my experience. We call them (and tech data does as well) Main Landing Gear Pods. the only "Nacelles" on the A-10 are the engine nacelles which are ben made up of cowls (the doors on the outside of the nacelle) and shrouds (attached to the actual engine itself. -
Formation Lights: White lights on fuselage?

Not a pilot but plenty of maintenance experience on A-10s and the formation lights in DCS function correctly. -
Formation Lights: White lights on fuselage?
Snoopy replied to Nealius's topic in DCS: A-10C II Tank Killer
Nope those are correct as is, intensity is tied to the formation lights. -
Formation Lights: White lights on fuselage?
Snoopy replied to Nealius's topic in DCS: A-10C II Tank Killer
External NVIS lighting is not modeled. The switch is located on the six lighting control panel. The nacelle flood light is tied to the formation lights BUT the on/off capability and intensity is controlled by the RCVR LT rotary on the fuel control panel. -
Hmm....why was a thread about a promised feature moved to the wishlist section?

It’s coming later this year. It was mentioned in one of the weekly news letters.

Modern real world A-10C loadouts thread
Snoopy replied to EasyEB's topic in DCS: A-10C II Tank Killer
If you say so... No they wouldn’t be the first in but I can guarantee they’d be in the fight after the first wave. -
Modern real world A-10C loadouts thread
Snoopy replied to EasyEB's topic in DCS: A-10C II Tank Killer
No reason to over the last 15 years because we’ve been operating in environments that the threat(s) are extremely limited. -
Modern real world A-10C loadouts thread
Snoopy replied to EasyEB's topic in DCS: A-10C II Tank Killer
Good idea but keep in mind the load outs over the past 10 plus years are COIN specific and not necessarily what we’d carry against a near-peer advisory. -
IIRC this has been reported and an issue for years.

Yaw trim vs. TAKE OFF TRIM indicator light
Snoopy replied to Yurgon's topic in DCS: A-10C II Tank Killer
It’s modeled correctly, per the dash 1 the only way the light illuminates is the yaw trim knob is neutral and the five trim motors are neutral. -
Will the A-10CII get some love on next patch?
Snoopy replied to icemaker's topic in DCS: A-10C II Tank Killer
what about all the missing HMCS symbology as well as making current symbology that we have that works for AI aircraft but not client ACFT in MP work? it also appears the updated countermeasure stuff hasn’t been mentioned. Is that still planned? -
sure but how it is now in DCS is realistic
-
If you can control trim by using the trim hat on the emergency flight control panel without switching to “EMER OVERRIDE” it’s a bug. I personally haven’t tried it in DCS.
-
You absolutely can trim the A-10 to straight and level flight in DCS without using the autopilot. It just takes patients.

don't agree, it takes seconds to update once power on. but yes being able to preprogrammed HMCS profiles (and other things that a proper DTC would do) would be amazing. Just don’t see it happening, people have been asking, no begging, for this for years.
-
Hopefully ED corrects so “ON” actually is always visible. certain items it doesn’t work right now. I turn a lot of items “on” you normally wouldn’t because we don’t get all the real world symbology that the HUD should show as a “fix”
-
Nope if you’re left eye dominate the monocle goes over the pilots left eye.

VRK - a virtual reality enabled kneeboard with touch and ink support
Snoopy replied to AMVI_Rider's topic in DCS Modding
Never noticed any performance impact in the past until yesterday. Jumped in a mission on the Syria map and when I had the knee boards enabled FPS was cut in half.
