  1. I guess I need to read up on TARS and see what it's all about, looks interesting.
  2. 0 is the ground, not your jets altitude. Depending on how far the enemy is away from you, you may have to decrease your search range from 80>60>40>20.
  3. Could you fly away with the downed pilot?
  4. A Huey supported by a few BS......now that is something I would like to do. I need to get flying and get my BS skills back up to par. Hope this is true and not "jumping the gun" type of thing.
  5. It's a F-18, I have pictures I took from Miramar of some when I was there in 2010. The quality sucks on them, but I can post it if you want?
  6. Maybe there are a few F-15's out there with different landing gear nowadays. There are programs out there that I and many others don't know about. Back in the 70's there were some F-15's that were carrier capable, they were called F-15N Sea Eagles. But i thought they canned that a long time ago. But I don't get why they would only have about 200 qualified pilots, when there are so many more.
  7. And no bad words.....that is the first rule.
  8. The F-15's gear isn't strong enough to handle a carrier landing.
  9. Yours looks better, much better then the stock ones.
  10. Although it doesn't matter what I want or say, but if we can still get modern stuff made...I'm happy then. I know they (Ed) have to make money some how and getting into WWII type stuff is a good way to do it. WWII sims are huge, lots of people love them. Back in the Hyperlobby days there were always at least 500-600 people flying in some of them. While in Lock on we had around 50-100. Which one? you talking about WWII game, I don't know cause I don't really keep up with them, but there are a few out there. I will never buy a DCS WWII aircraft or something that I will not fly. I'm not going to buy everything they or 3rd party guys make. DCS aircraft are hard to learn and get good in. I don't have a ton of time to try different ones out, so I'll pass on some things
  11. You should see it at night.
  12. Same for me, if I wanted to fly WWII sims, I'd go buy a different game.
  13. Wow, that looks nice! What size screen are you using? I just bought a 40" Samsung LED 1080p so I hope it looks good.
  14. +1, get rid of the game port having to hook into the stick!
  15. Nothing wrong with any of the other forces, we all depend on each other at different times. We also give each other crap....because that's what brothers and sisters do.
  16. That is good news, but at $355 dollars! You can buy the whole thing for the same cost at some places.
  17. I went to ALS with a 2 guys that were TACP, cool guys. Felt bad for them for having to work with the Army, but at least they weren't Army. A guy I work with tried to x-train into CCT, but his eyes were bad.
  18. Rip
  19. I couldn't hear the AB kick in or the air break open and close when I got a ride in a F-16. However and C-130 and B-52 are freaking loud, even with hearing protection. C-5, KC-10 and KC-135 are just fine, a little noise but nothing to bad.
  20. That's why I edit my sounds to sound more realistic. I can't hear the AB or maybe a faint sound of it, same goes for my air break. Hearing a tank explode while in a aircraft is just ridiculous. They add these sounds because we can't feel when we open the air break or the AB kicks in. Why we hear an exploding tank is beyond me.
  21. All of that plays a factor in detecting a target. We'll never know what effects it unless we fly a real jet in all different types of weather or a real pilot tells us. What we would think of about the detection of a AB target.......they'll only be guesses, we don't know.

Or it means you have friends and some people like you.
  23. I'd love to see a better quality pic. Looking good, I'm going with a 40" LED, at least that's what I'm gonna try.
  24. I just drove through there last Friday and Sunday night.
