  1. Too soon? Where's our overachieving graphic artists around here?
  2. Right. Which is a far far cry from "makes no sense".
  3. Maybe because one is ready and one isn't?
  4. AA Refuel? You mean 20 minutes of loitering and wobbling, before switching to guns?
  5. This thread might be of use to you...
  6. Exactly.
  7. Which other early access module doesn't have things that aren't finished yet?
  8. Sure, that's worth a small whine... but not the ridiculous lengths that I've seen some ppl go to... .you'd think Razbam had made them pay $1000's of dollars in advance or something, not LESS THAN a tank of gas, there's a limit to what's reasonable to whine about and not shockingly, the internet has once again shot right past that like it's not even a speedbump... it gets here when it gets here, if that pre-sale money was so important to some of those ppl, maybe they should reconsider their finances, and just wait until it's actually released, whenever that is.
  9. Pretty sure I have all those things... can you define "and such"? I definitely have load screen pictures, and I can see the 387 page manual at: C:\Program Files\DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\aircraft\F14\Docs Yours should be in a similar place.
  10. It's spelled "r-e-d-d-i-t", but it's pronounced "massive army of whiners whining about the most ridiculous things daily, and, occasionally, a legitimate complaint." ... and there's thousands of them... Your point remains valid, I just think you're underestimating the amount, and volume level, of the whiners.
  11. That's not a math problem, that's a lack of knowledge problem. My math is just fine. But thanks for pointing that out.
  12. Hrrm, Google says the weight of an F-14 is 40,100... I think even re-calculating for that, your point still remains though... but I think we can still agree, that whatever the weight is in that video, that suspension is pretty clearly close to, if not actually, maxing out in terms of flex. If it does that when it's not at max trap, max trap is gonna be an awfully hard feeling landing (and maybe it was!).
  13. You can tell there's just about zero weapons onboard. So even assuming all the tanks are full, I think we can safely assume we're thousands of lbs under max trap in that demo. I believe the Phoenix is about 1000 lbs, and we know we can carry 6 of them, so, right there, that's 6,000 lbs under max trap, minus the weight of whatever that pod attached under the wing is, is that a single dumb bomb, or something else under the right wing, not sure, but I'm guessing it doesn't weigh 6000 lbs, and while you're right, that's just an educated guess, I think we can get close enough for lawn darts. (old expression meaning close enough that it counts, even if it's not perfect... explained for the young ppl who never saw the bloodsport known as lawn darts in the 80's... ) 54,000 lbs
  14. Also note, despite how much compression the gear goes through, that plane is almost clean, nowhere near max trap I wouldn't think...
  15. There might be a little left in reserve, or possibly a variable thickness coil (or equivalent) requiring more force to bottom out the suspension, but if you look at Smith's video above, that shows a real Tomcat landing, and at about the 22 second mark, that looks pretty darn close to bottoming out to me... Also, there's a reason there's a max trap weight, it's the max!
  16. This worked as advertised in single player, but in multiplayer, the body still remains...
  17. Small bug seems to have popped up in the latest release. F-14 - Engines If left on that page, and you exit the game or leave a server, the app crashes. On any other page, no issue, only if it's on the Engines page. I wouldn't drop everything to fix that, but it is a bug it seems. This started only after the latest update, I just hadn't got around to reporting it until now.
  18. Keybind names: Wing Sweep Bomb Mode Wing Sweep Auto Mode Wing Sweep Forward Wing Sweep Aft They're in the "Throttle" section.
  19. Yup, and that's all you had to say!
  20. I don't think there is a better suggestion, pedals with toe-brakes is a huge step up, from binary buttons and/or the rotating axis on your joystick. No question. I don't think you'll be disappointed in that move.
  21. Agreed, the new suspension is way better. Other than breaking IC... which brings me to... Do we know when the next patch is? (and I'm assuming that's in the patch... completely off-topic, but it would be nice to get that extra pilot outta my seat someday too... )
  22. Ya, but she's a lean fifty-four thousand.
  23. No one's gonna talk about this Tomcat at 99,750ft huh? I want *that* plane!
  24. I'm also over 50, and new (sorta) to DCS/sims, and while I don't have any major issue with the readability of the switches (After a couple weeks at most, I had almost everything I need mapped to the HOTAS, or I just knew where it was at that point), I will say that I wouldn't hate it if the altitude gauge was more readable for sure... and for the speed gauge, basically, I learn where the arrow needs to point, to be at the speed I need it to be, and go by that, which, while workable, feels less than optimal... but also probably explains why there weren't many F-14 pilots in their mid-50's in the first place.
  25. Did you just call my girl fat?!
