  1. @OverStratos Due to a recent discussion in another module thread on pitch and G onset I felt the urge to say "Thank you" for the excellent characteristics of the MiG-19 in that regard. It's so fantastic to see how in the MiG-19 the elevator controls are adjusted to speed, giving you good control authority no matter if you going fast or slow, without the fear of instantly over-g'ing the aircraft and ripping off the wings. In the MiG-19 you actually have to pull hard at high speed to get to high Gs, whereas in at least two of EDs modules just a fifth of total elevator movement will let you break the aircraft, so instead of pulling hard like in the real jet, you need to apply increasingly less pressure on the stick to avoid catastrophic structural failure, while on landing you need to stir the stick like crazy to even get the tiniest control outputs. Not so with the MiG-19. Well done, Overstratos and Razbam! I am looking forward to your MiG-23!
  2. Many thanks for the end of year report, very much appreciated. Cockpit looks great, but please Red Star Simulations, for the love of Marx and Lenin, please include an English cockpit version.
  3. Yes, AI helicopter behavior is quite weird in DCS, even more than that of planes. Unfortunately it's a total immersion killer seeing AI helicopters take off and land.
  4. It's those details that make an excellent skin for an immersive simulation experience. Thank you for your efforts, I am very much looking forward to Szatan Arba!
  5. There is! Under "controls", "trimmer reset".
  6. What's the current status of multicrew in the Gazelle? Has anyone tried it lately? My last attempts are more than a year old, back then there were a lot of desync issues. Has that been improved lately? Is multicrew stable and dependable on a busy multiplayer server?
  7. This was actually the case even before the last patch. I can't tell how long this has been the case already, but I know for sure I came across this bug a few months ago. Thanks for reporting it.
  8. I'd like to see one campaign where you are not "an American exchange pilot" for once though
  9. The analog speedometer actually shows IAS and TAS with two needles, which is a nice feature if you ask me. (TAS is shown in the Mach meter) For assessing your aircraft's current performance in WVR combat, IAS is quite helpful, but for navigation and BVR combat TAS is more useful.

    MiG-17PF

According to the interview they have some very competent people on the team. Looking forward to the -17F, I'm very happy with that choice.
  11. Last thing I read was the developer wants to implement new things and standards with the Kiowa first, then implement these to the Gazelle.
  12. Now it is Christmas 2022 and we're still waiting for the veil to be lifted....
  13. No need to apologize, checking for older threads before opening a new one is the right thing to do. No need to litter the forum with ten threads on the same issue. You did it right
  14. There is no need to open a thread for the same topic every two weeks. Checking for older threads on the topic and using them is actually a good habit. So no need to apologize, F-2, you did it right.
  15. It’s a problem with AI airborne units that has been a subject in several discussions on Blue Flag and Rotorheads servers. It doesn’t only affect the Black Shark, but all player-controlled units.
  16. You probably have a centerline drop tank then = no airbrake. Drop the tank to use the airbrake, or, more realistic, try some S turns before final to bring down speed. The -29 will lose speed quickly at high alpha turns at idle thrust. Usually one hard turn into final is enough to get on speed.
  17. With launch authorization override I usually hit the EWR.
  18. Engines off, must be at 0 RPM.
  19. DCS really needs some sort of built-in mission planner for MP for ad-hoc mission planning and transfer to map, kneeboard, navigation systems (with the option to send the flight plan to other flight/package members in MP.
  20. No, I was just interested in flying some basic aerobatics and a few traffic patterns. Another guy without any flying experience very quickly put the F-4 into a flat spin though and crashed.
  21. You are right, I was thinking of MiG-21 and MiG-29 primarily, those are/were really bad in terms of pitch oscillations, haven't flown the 29 lately though, there might have been FM improvements in recent updates. The MiG-15 feels a little better in this area, it has other quirks though. I'm not saying the MiG-19 FM is perfect, but I like the 'stiffness' of the control input vs. reaction precision. It feels a lot more like an 8 tons fast jet that pretty much goes where you point it. My impressions stem from F-4F and Tornado full-flight sim time and the usual single engine piston aircraft.
