I have had this from very beginning of DCS during single player. Now with hornet it seems that certain campaign missions get the radio silent. sometimes i recieve and can send em but no sound, some times it recieves normally, but when im sending something like "focus1-1 ennfield 1-1 requesting bogey dope" etc, sound goes like "Foc...->silence" Sometimes the radio goes TOTALLY silent, no recieved messages, no sent messages (no its not about hornets channels, i know how them work) This happens more or less with every aircraft. I have SRS installed, but not in use at the moment, and it really seems it does not matter. SOMETHING (dunno what) seems to trigger the mentioned radio bugs, more ore less everytime in certain missions, and it really is goddam annoying. With hornet I have experienced this most, could it be those missions where there is mission made radio speech but still have to change channels to AAR or something, IMO these mission sometimes trigger that. Where there is mission made radio stuff and still made so that you have to change channels... ? Is it somehow mission related even, or do i just feel so? With f-15 i had also a lot of this in single player. Seems that latest update somehow changed the radio, that now bug triggers more than before, but not so much that I could be really certain that if the update messed it around more. Does anyobody has any clue still what is this, or can it be rounded somehow. Now if it triggers for me i have to restart dcs and even restart the computer Very weird stuff. (the bugs you cannot logically explain). It is only sometimes, but usually it ruins the whole mission when it happens, and that is still something that NEVER should happen if not taken bullets to radio systems...

Again have to say. DCS shows its best on its supportive forum ppl. Like: Me 8 hours ago ""#"#%"#%"% my logbook is broken #%%"#% everything is broken, i will sell my hotas and burn my computer" 8 hours later: "HIIIGHWAAAY TO DA DANGER ZONE!!!!"

This was actually solved for me by your other fix I did not first notice thear was different thread about that my campaign inactive campaings / "doubleslash in code"- error. I took your fix in there, and it was just what I needed. Today realized that I just havent played custom campaings for a while, so hadnt notice that there even was this kind of bug in latest (or any) version. (the my campaign "inactive" bug, which also broke my end mission button). Now they both work Thanks. EDIT: to be clear. Solution for me was that me_campaign.lua, that you had made for that other thread for fix. Prob really seemed only for me to be that my campaign inactive bug...

Confusion with LITENING and Designation and Mavericks

About this came a question to my mind: With LITENING: When wptdesignate the pod-> move around to look target -> point track-> I want to jump of from point track for some reason -> pod slews / goes always back to waypoint designated first. Is there a way that pod would not do that? -
Same thing here. Was about to have a heart attack when couple of hundered custom campaing missions "inactive" / done "0", on every campaing. Then clicking other mods -> they are ok-> back to my campaigns seems ok but cant end em. But I dont mind as long as IF update logbook works. BUT I really pray that my logbook made with this false code works also when this is fixed!? (i just mean do i even dare to play em )

Same bug here. Triggered today (NOT SURE!, about this further..). I shot train.. Dunno if was still the locomotive. Weirdly when I go dcs main menu -> campaings -> my campaigns (where it goes automatically first) it does not show any progress BUT when i click some of airplanes to see their "own" campaings progress is shown and THEN back to -> my campaings -> it shows progress but the end mission button does not work. What is weird that somehow IF i go straight to that non progressed my campaings and start mission, the end mission button works. How is this even possible? Is there something wrong in my logbook.lua? Though it did not help with Backups either. Even 6 months old did not help on it. I have played for a couple of weeks for F/A 18´s own campaigns so dunno when this has triggered, but did not have problems couple of weeks ago. If I create new user, no probs (but no progress ofc either :P). That me_logbook.lua fix did not help for me.

Killed just locomotive. Triggered. When i go dcs main menu -> campaing -> my campaings -> it does not show the progress BUT if i click some of my airplane mods (to see their own campaigns) progress is shown and weirdly THEN -> my campaigns -> progress shows. BUT cant end any mission now,

Since almost played the persian lion, you bet i will buy the #2 also These campaigns are good for my skill lvl. It is nice that there is a lot of AG content. One can shoot AMRAAMS with F-15C enough in one year... ^__^ dogfighting / BVR skills ofc different thing, but i think AG stuff makes you really USE the F/A-18´s systems. -
Do you mean like full on tuned f22A with huge myriad of weapons, or swedish volvo with gatling on the roof - kinda stuff? ;D "wasnt me". KK maby i´ll try without my f22a, gripen, eurofighter and hercules. If something of those unofficials can do something for the mission, i bet it could be the F22A Nightstorm "mod enchancement mod" (it edits some missile files etc). OR could it have something to do with "western RWR symbology"? That could mess up some of IFF stuff, could be logical. But yeah thank you for super (<333) customer service. As I said earlier, dont know any other game, where true maker of campaign takes and gives straight "feedback". BTW Rise of Persian lion is very nice, now on the chopper mission... BTW the tanking could be more or less optional in some of missions (as they are but not in this. I just tanked my hornet full before RTB from 7200 fuel left.. ) (OK one could really break far from those f-4´s, if want to play for sure. Persian Lion gives great tour of well Persian feeling, with those "there is no horizon" sunsets. It is nice and also somehow "weird" (i an good way) how different "feeling"/ "athmoshpere" there is after playing year of caucasus map, daily. When you feel totally overwhelmed, the DCS is giving it´s best!

BTW @Badger633Do you have other campaigns / missions? (than SH and its versions and This Pers. Lion series? Totally would recommend these for my friends playing dcs. Yesterday one friend that doesnt play computer at all, flied the Maverick IR / Laser Jtac mission, and he was about to <profanity> his pants from joy... -
Ok I will try it today. I play open-beta standalone version. No stress dude, it is NICE campaign. I´m really sorry to hear, and understand that it is not fun when your work is thumbled by some new code (or whatever it is). I have played like A LOT of free campaigns also, and it very usual that older ones have triggers etc so totally "exploded" that many times I find myself basically building whole trigger system from start. But hey no stress. It is still nice campaing, and still I can play it in my way and fly back to carrier. Maby just edit the training part out from it? OR the bad guys suddenly coming before the cutoff is even made..? This is just an idea, and just curious that could it be possible for you to just "cut the mission" littlebit? But still Skip button works. Thanks for great service. Never played a game, where mission creator comes in open discussion with me, when havin problems in the game. But maby I will try it, and report back if it works now, as today dcs upgraded itself (dunno was it major patch, havent looked that far yet.. Just noticed it started loading 5 gigs). Thank you

Just bought it. I actually have now bought in last 3 months alot of mods, after year of fc3 aircrafts. F/A-18C, Persian Map, Supercarrier mod and just bought also The Rise of Persian Lion ("1") and Combined Arms.. It is very nice that ED now sells those like -70% was couple of days in steam etc. It is kinda logical when some ppl have played DCS since launch. OFC for them collecting mods year by year, while playing DCS, but when I started year ago, I had already desided to aim for Hornet trough FC3 aircrafts (Basically just because hornet is in use in my homeland, Finland, and wanted the most multirole one..) But then soon I started to notice that "shiit I need like new map, supercarrier mod, combined arms, the plane itself, just to play with couple of friend´s missions .. Gets pricy bought once. So now its nice for ED to lower prices , it helps A LOT new players like me, who still wants to play DCS with dedication. (I have army background so want to do things "my way". Well now I got those. Next is time to get track IR from post office (ooh yes i have played YEAR, all FC3 planes campaigns, and goddam lot of other campaigns, mostly SP, some MP. Then time to buy also a new HOTAS, as I play with ORIGINAL first version of saitek x45. Its literally 20 years or something old. But still works. It is just about to break thoug, and ofc theres "clap" in controls, and as i mentioned, have to use huge deadzones. Buttons actually in saitek x45 is nice collection, but they are crappy and "plastic like" as hell. Think I first buy some cheaper new hotas, before going into virpil / wingwing stuff. Many players, including Growling Sidewinder etc. have said that one should buy TM 16000m, which is yes cheap and plastic like also, but the mechanics in the stick is same that in TM warthog (just the bottom of the stick, thoug put in plastic cover. Or that atleast is what i have read and heard. It felt nice as warthog when tested it in store. Pedals are crappy and small, but still the whole pack is here in finland like 199 euros (~180 dollars) (HOTAS + pedals). Still it would be a HUGE upgrade to flying and controls itself. Atleast what comes to accuracy. And it is kinda clear ofc when they are 20 years newer. I just need to tune the TM 16000m ´s throttle, and put real roller bearings to the rails it is movin on. Thanks alot for tips. As I said I´m kinda new to DCS, and every social contact in here matters. -

Ok. Thanks. I was about to totally lose it, that am I that crap. Always pleasure to see that ppl are strugling with same problem. Yeah as me also, Smoke does the cutoff, but flies about 50 miles, and seems that he is called "turn immediatly south jadajada" (he flies to no-go zone...?). But anyways, same problem here as ppl here in topic. Smoke goes just on route? Then he turns back at me, no tapes on no anythig, at weird 1000ft altitude. Anyway, this relieved my stress about this. "Am I that bad" kinda thing. Have flown alot SP campaigns older and newer, and more ore less everyone of em contains some trigger errors at some point of their lifetime. Still very nice to see that this really is problem with mission / ED itself, not me. Was very weird to look youtube content makers playing this same mission, and just circling around and calling commands. Setting the radar and pewpew. It is weird how much it keeps haunting if cant pass the mission same way, no matter what (while not knowing if there is a bug ofc..) Thanks alot baltic dragon for answering for prob!

Yeah I thought that, because I made mission 1 again, it works perfectly, but there ofc I´m the wingman and thats a dogfight. And I have even wrong mission # in topic, it is ofc mission 2 not 3. But yeah it seems to be somehow broken, cause no wingman makes the cutoff, but he flies weirdly to zone where he is noticed "turn south immediatly jadajada", never the "tapes on" etc. as I see in youtube videos of that mission. Basically I just orbit around waypoint 4, and wait for wingman. But he just flies about 50 miles, (after he is noticed to turn (i assume this does not belong to the misison??) then weird turn back from wingman towards me, then back then towards his course and the back again towards me at 1000ft~ height ASL. But so do I understand right, that this mission does not work right now? And thank you.

Thank you. It seems that there is just unlimited fuel put on ... But does not matter anyway, anymore. I mastered the refueling, (or hammered would be better word for it... )couple of times, cause of that mission, and now I can do it kinda anywhere, while tanked in 30kn crosswind in campaign. It was good afterall. I have long time kinda been hiding to train AAR. But now it goes ! thanks anyway. Now strugling with Raven One campaign mission 2. Dont have a goddam clue what im supposed to do -
Hi! Have now learned Hornet for 2 months, and well it goes. Bought raven one campaign, and now stuck in mission 3 just not knowing what to do, or i get it, but... (the flying itself is not a problem for me, HN works great!), but the terms are new for me totally in brief. Watched videos from youtube. What mens cutoff? How the sim mode works? Do i need to put master arm on after pushing the sim button, while master arm still on? But mostly whatta heck i am supposed to do? Wingman cuts off towards waypoint 5, and I am supposed to orbit around wp4? The wingman never says "fights on" ore anything after "cuttoff" and pushing away from me. I cirlce around wp4 but NOTHING happens. Wingman just flies south then home. WHAT am I doing wrong? Sry for many questions, but the mission is just full thingamobs, little, but still unknown to me. That would not be a problem, if i just could find even tutorials for sim mode.. ? Do i get it right master arm off->sim from stores screen->master arm on (supposed?). Does the sim mode work for anyone who puts it on? I mean does my wingman need to do something, before it even registers the sim shots? So can I just please have simple answers for those questions.. What the hell am i supposed to do, and how that sim mode works, and why my wingman just flies off and comes back but not fight on or when i try to shoot him with sim mode on (if i do it correctly even.. ) nothing happens. How does this thing work?

Is Anti-Skid supposed to be On for Carrier Ops/Takeoff?

Carrier: No Anti-Skid. Its useless there, it does not work under 10kn, and if you move over ten kn on the deck, your in catapult going up or in cable or "bolting". Havent tried, but does pressin "stop" from bit page help for the skid notice. And if it wouldnt, so what. You can alway put it on in the air if its annoying. Checklists are just lists that with you dont brake the plane. It is possible even in IRL (not to mention dcs .. ) for airplane commander, to jump over list "stuff" in case of good reason. (more or less). For example gears dont lock down in airliner-> pilot gets checklist for hammering the gear down -> captain can tell him to jump over prechecks and go straight to actions, if doing not so would be dangerous for example. Pre-flight checklists can in somecases also be done by groundcrew. So this is kinda also question of how much does a DCS player want to roleplay. Does he go trough the list or just press windows+home for example. In Airfields: Many times forgot to put on on divert, gets sliperry... nice 360 slides on the ground though Maby we should put on drifitng contest with different planes, on some server! -
Why I´m getting only "restart" for RWR. SOMETIMES (dunno how I did it) got pbit go (it comes from "power bit on", in hornet the systems have "built in alltime testdata" that comes from most of the systems. So the "pbit go" just means the testprogram itself have not been separately runned, BUT the built in "alltime when power on data seems good to hornet->pbit go". So it just means the system, while the test has not been done, does not send any error data (like alarms etc..). But confused with that "restart". What does it actually mean. I always test rwr just like described in this topic (RWR on -> press rwr test button (most left one of rwr buttons), sometimes it gives pbit on, but USUALLY restart. Why restart? And what does that "restart the process" even mean? (manual says it means "restart the process".. :P) But yeah those who asked about pbit go. You can go with that with most systems. It ofc does not mean there is not ANY errors found, because when pbit go, test has not been run. (in dcs it kinda does, if not random errors on :P). Thats why i wonder also why rwr does not EVER give just "go" in dcs, even it can be easily tested. But more confusing is that restart. Maby it is some other test that gets rwr test "out from the loop" and something in the "process" has to be restarted to even get results from rwr. Is it just dcs? Or I´m i really doing something wrong? Sometimes when I dear to push the auto button, and wait LONG it and AFTER that when i test rwr i get one time pbit go. but if i dear to test it again "restart". I think it is something in the order of tests, or that i start something from bit page that i stop too early or something. Still it is confusing why the rwr test is so weird, as it should be kinda the easiest one with own bit button etc, and easy when read from manual but.. Could it have something to do with alignments? Or some other EW tests? (that I get that restart). These are things that does not really matter, but when really want to put effort to do things right, easily get "stuck" in these..

What does that "simplified refueling" mean in practic? More fuel in planes? No wake turbulence? No refueling at all? I´m kinda bad tanker, but it goes. Hav now flown 4 missions, and wondered after msn 3 refueling taking about 2 hours for me ( :D), that if I restart that how much does that differ if chosen that simplified vrsn? -
Super! Dont need to excuse launguage there, I think it is very good choise! And even still, it is language of Russia neighbour country! Midnight Hawks, a Finnish Hawk Flight Crew that the speech tells about is something you should btw check IRL(just usual stuff about crewitself, Actually I could translate it here for you (and others) to read if you want to, just when I get back to my dcs computer..It could be fun. And also interesting. Speaker really tells about Hawk crew.) i. They have been ranked globally kinda high I think. Some manouvers that they pull, was kinda "you cant do that with hawk?!"-stylish stuff. But yeah was very nice detail in mission, for Finnish ppl even with bonus. It is good choise, because it is straight from Hawk wings flight BTW, do you remember where it is from? Was it Helsinki Airshow? And thanks for very good campaign.

This isnt probelm. Vice versa. I was amazed, when flying mission 1 (on SH 2! Caucasus..) to the airshow-> "ok heres kobuleti airshow, we link to your radio our airshow speeches" -> from radio starts FINNISH (my homeland) language speech (in georgia? :D). Bet speech is IRL from Finnish Hawkcrew flying in Finnish airshow (dunno where). Is this just funny accident for me, or is language in that spot chosen by mission, by logbooks / players chosen "homeland"? Though: In Finland we have very skilled Hawk airshow crew so "The Midnight Hawks"... Niceone! Hawk is also FiAF´s training Jet. Is this campaing possibly made originally by a Finnish person or something? Im confused ;D Happy new year for everyone!

Ok. Sry bout that must be annouying. I did not have in any case flashing on the deck / ground (knocking the wood...), but somehow mysteriously everytime over 43k ft from sea lvl altitude It seems in mission editor etc that dcs is loading something differently now from very beginning. My memory usage has also gone littlebit down (system memory / RAM). Maby it had something to do with graphics trough msaa. Have you tried without any filters? is that always like that in every setting? (just for interest.. )
