  1. Kindly remind that the outcome is depending on specific hardware. You may not see the improvement I just saw which is pretty amazing! You might wanna try if you are still with previous stable one like me. In short, this MT version just eliminated my previous stuttering issue. Was occuring each 4-5 sec. Deal killer to VR experince even my previous fps is acceptable. And also see ~10-20% of fps increase. Not that big. But good enough for a SW upgrade. My setting is with many highs and visible range ultra, cloud also ultra.
  2. Surprise! And yes. I also thought MT should come as default, while it comes out the stable means ST version with lots of improvement since last Dec, and MT in preview. Just tried MT version. It works great thought not perfect yet.
  3. Thank you very much for kindly reminding. I just tried it and the most positive experince is my stuttering almost elimiated at all! So seems at least with my hardware, it's my saver! Yes, I totally agree that stuttering issue is even more serious to destroy our immersive experince v.s. fps (when it's higher than 40fps). Also saw fps boosted mildly ... not that sigficiant as I saw some cases came with ~50% of increase.
  4. Just tried it and love it. Did experince a few crashes upon 1st launch but somehow now it works. Will share a bit more details in seperate thread. Saw ~20% increase in fps & more essential improvement with stutter issue, now eliminated at all! You too. Have a wonderful weekend!
  5. Thanks for clarification. Though a bit surprised the Stable version is mainly for ST while MT kept as Beta. Anyway, it's a big step forward from last Dec.
  6. @BIGNEWY Hi, are we still expected to use MT with stable version as per the instruction of FAQ? Thought MT is default to be launched as part of new DCS without adding any special shortcut link.
  7. Update: This MT version works great for me! Here is the observation between ST stable version(last Dec) & MT stable preview version(today) VR mode; Quick mission: F18 free flight in Cyria Map. My HW pls refer to signature. And setting are mixed high with some offs. Clous ultra, visible range ultra. Pros: Eliminated stuttering AT ALL! This was my nightmare as stutter happened each 4-5 sec. Hate to fly in that way even fps still decent. Fps increased by ~10-20%. from 50-55 to 60-70 Cons: Crashed a few times when I 1st time to launch MT version. Not solved even slow repaired. Meanwhile 2D is OK. So issue has to be with VR. After Oculus software started, I managed to start VR mode again successfully. Then close Oculus, I could start VR mode without any issue without that. Strange. Wonder if that would happen tomorrow after reboot. ----------- Original: Cross finger to this stable MT version to solve my stutter issue in VR mode, which is very annoying and destroy the immersiveness while in mission.

  9. Wow, it is good sign as top VR product to drop to $1691. But still need to purchase base stations and controllers which excluded from the package? So VR headset only would cost ~$2.5k. Prefer to spend that budget for a 4090+QP till next-gen & affordable headset coming. BTW base stations are great in accuracy while really troublesome for arrangement at home. Personal only look for inside-out solution.
  10. It seems still in Beta stage and began shipping from late last month to fulfill pre-order(early adaptors though). Their CEO said volume shipping to start in June and production ramp-up into July & beyond. Given their track record, pls take this with a pinch of salt.
  11. Just saw this and I owned P6 about 1 year ago. Not in position to judge how H3 works. But you could check out "VR Flight Sim Guy" on Youtube as he uploaded a H2 Verdict.
  12. Kindly remind, if you already have 3090 or above GPU on Ultra model or Godlike, could ignore this new feature as it's designed to upscale lower resolution to be on par clarity with Ultra mode.
  13. My previous Rift S worked for 4 yrs without quality issues other than those floppy SW problems in early stage. So it's OK if you wanna replace a cable to keep it till new gen or at least you could sell it on eBay after repaired. I sold my Rift S right after I tried Pico4 last month. Clarity is much better as well the sweet spot. And setup is not that tricky at all to me if you won't try tethering w/ VD which seem too complex to me as well. I meanly use it as PCVR for DCS and Beat sober and just a few clicks each time to get it started. Even with my previous dual-band wifi 6 router, it is playable. Actually buying a used tri-band Wifi 6 router is the easiest way to me, meanwhile improving your home network quality. I guess original cable of Rifts-S is no cheap either. Next Gen and affordable one... takes time unless you would rather to wait about 6 months or so. If month is not a issue, then Varjo Aero is the next gen which you can buy today.
  14. If you have both PC and Headset connected to Wifi as I did, then a tri-band router seems a must-have. Because both devices are competing the most bandwidth from same frequancy channel which shared also by other devices you have at your home e.g. your cellphone. With popular dual band one, it's playable while expecting frequent stutters You may want to changed to tri-band router and assign one of 5GHz to headset only. Or you have to consider to connect both tethering which is a bit tricky. Overall, Pico4 w/ VD is pleasant experince for PCVR to me until Quest 3 released later this year, or even Crystal proven solid.
  15. My 3090 worked fine with Pico4. So shouldn't be worse with your 4080. You may find comparison on Youtube between G2 & Pico4. I am good to keep later one as it's much better than my preivous Rift S. No idea with your other questions.
  16. Let number talks. VR topic alone is 95.9k posts which tops every single “core feature” under 2.8. BTW seems a few core features shall be relocated as those only have 100-200posts if they were not newly added. Agree the location a few people proposed above, and VR could be changed to VR Experience. It’s not ONLY piece of HW itself, but anything related VR in DCS. Home-> English-> Digital Combat Simulator-> DCS World 2.8-> DCS World Core Features-> VR Experience.
  17. I have no issue with ST version. Did you try ST version to see if it's bug with MT version only? If you do have this issue with MT, suggest you move this post to section of MT bug or VR bug for more visibility there.
  18. Thank you for prompt response to our voice! Moving VR under somewhere, seems "technically correct" as of catalog. But VR already became part of essential experince of DCS as matter of fact. Many of us won't invest so much time without emersiveness. So pls do consider to make it more visible/accessable somewhere (better still tier 1 under DCS 2.8). So people could continue keeping it active as it should be. Thank you ED team.
  19. Share the same feeling here, and refresh "Official Updates" a few times a day. But MT is a major leap and deserves more time to fix the most of bugs. If some of us aren't ready to collaborate with ED for Beta improvement(accept&report bugs with patience), the best respect to team is keeping finger crossed for those won't bother to try with bugs. Just have a peek now in "Multi-Threading Bug Reports (Temp)". 3.4k posts submitted in a bit more than a month only. Cheers!
  20. Just tried AH64 w/ P6. Didn't notce any restriction with movement of heave, while didn't feel any meaningful feedback in Vert G either. I guess it's nature of a heli that hard to create feeling of heave. Also you might check SRS if your setting with by angle or by rate. Sorry, cannot help anything in this. Anyway I won't bother with that feature from a helicopter.
  21. Cannot help myself to check if ANY update under "Official Updates" every a few hours since MT beta launched. Expecting stable version coming soon, as well Vulcan/DLSS for next. Cheers ED team! Dreaming for DCS growing into Unreal5-like next gen platform someday.

  23. @DrCarloPedersoli Also doubted pico4 missing DP connection. Guess PCVR market is too small to pay back their investment in this feature. After all they count on us to purchase SW from their store as they won’t make a lot from HW itself. After read many encouraging posts here, bought one and quite satisfy with it after a few weeks of use, especially considering the price. Streaming is quite easy and deliver decent image quality(at least a big leap v.s. Rift S via DP), after I replaced router to tri-band and assign one of 5G band to VR only. That’s all, no more config with router needed. Each time just need to open app of VD from headset.
  24. @Qcumber thanks for your sharing. I have 60-70 at high altitude while total those 4 items add up to only ~35. Wonder where those additional latency comes from so I might address with focus. When I set cloud to ultra, saw 6-8ms of increase meanwhile fps dropped by 5-7 fps. Let me try without “enhanced contrast setting” today to see if the image quality still acceptable.
  25. Though technically VR topic is now under the "right" catalog, it already became the essential part of experince of DCS. It 's far beyond a input device and deserve a special spot under 2.8. ED staff might reconsider to put such active section to where people easier to access, but hiding under somewhere seems "correctly" catagrized.
