I'm sure that there are many here who don't subscribe to Spotify. If anyone who has both Spotify and either Apple or YouTube Music cares to recreate the playlist in one of those services, I'll copy and share it to the other. This way people flying the campaign, but who don't subscribe to Spotify, can enjoy it.

If I had to guess, roll stab aug could compensate for a rigging problem. But that's the sail trimmer in me . It's in the Heat Blur F-4E manual in the Takeoff section and more importantly, in the USAF Test Pilot School Phantom Guide, sec 7.1 page 20.

I mostly use the 2850 number for rpm, and push MP into the upper 50s if needed. But I keep an eye on the temps and try to stay away from redline. Once I’ve caught up, I reduce RPM to 4600. If I stay with lead and never let him get more than 50-100 yds away during most travel phases of the mission, including takeoff, I’m good. Keeping the ball centered (it changes with MP changes) and the airspeed at best rate of climb (165 Kts IAS) are also critical. Lastly, bind an axis to the carburetor ram air control, as I don’t think that a button binding will actually open it. Worth a few hundred rpm at critical altitude, or when the turbo supercharger kicks in.

@Reflected, the atmosphere in MiG Killers is really fantastic, especially the skins and the coms, which don't sound scripted. Really looking forward to all that lies ahead. The first time through the intro mission, the scenario did not end well for my RIO and I. Let's just say that our fuel management could have been better, which resulted in a very long walk to the O club. I chose to refly the mission, landed, parked at Alpha in what was the obvious spot, and used the checklist for shutdown. But when I chose End Mission, received a 50% score and could fly the mission again or Skip. Do you think that this because I chose to refly without ending the mission first time through, or did I miss a task the second time through?

Random Controller Question
Chipwich replied to WhiskyTango's topic in DCS: P-51D Debden Eagles Campaign
Other than frame rate, at higher altitudes (say above 25k feet) the P-51, like most aircraft, will feel sluggish and need very subtle input. This is because the air is thinner and the control surfaces don't have as much air molecules to bite. It's the same with jets, but less noticeable at the same altitude due to their higher airspeed. The same goes for engine performance. -
Mission 3 flight just disappeared
Chipwich replied to Sparc's topic in DCS: P-51D Debden Eagles Campaign
Very much appreciated. I wondered why the FPS picked up as the missions progressed. -
MiG Killers can't get here soon enough! Really looking forward to that one.

It looks Loach v1.2 has been released and reports are that it is much more stable than v1.1. A 600 hr MD500 pilot is giving it thumbs up on their Discord.

Not challenging enough? Go fly Tobsen and @Eight Ball's excellent OH-6A for a month. You'll be begging for a little SCAS or force trim

Fixed with today's update.

I know ED is working hard to get all of us Oculus users back in the air. I'm just hoping that it's soon, because I'm in the middle of the Debden Eagles campaign and feeling pretty rusty in the Mustang at the moment. Never mind that Happy New Phantom day is near! Come on team!

I just had the issue, single player Reflected's Debden Eagles campaign. I tookoff on the left main, then switched to fuselage tank at 1000 ft AGL. I ran this until approximately 25 gallons remaining, then switched to right drop tank. I ran this for 10 mins, then switched to left drop tank, at which time the engine quit from fuel starvation. I switched to right main and pickled my drop tanks, thinking that the left was inoperative. Completed the mission without fuel issues.

Some much needed airfields. Thank you!

In the meantime, there are these converted QuickStart missions to practice what you learn in the YouTube videos. The only thing that I've had to do is edit the GBU mission to remove the training BDU-50s and add the regular GBU-12s. These missions helped me a lot https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3331854/

Instant crash when switching to Ground Radar (log attached)
Chipwich replied to Ian Boys UK's topic in F-15E
Random for me as well. -
Maybe the placebo effect, but it seems that I'm trimming less with Alt Hold and A/P engaged. Perhaps I'm just more comfortable in the a/c.
-
The A/P seems better after the update. Anyone else notice?

I'm not sure what I did last night, but after about an hour of practice dropping GBUs, the TPOD got unstable and the gimble went into some sort of random oscillation. I tried putting it into SP mode (PB17 long) and undesignating (Auto Acq Depress), but the image just kept moving around. I should have tried power-cycling it.
-
Or long press auto acquisition fwd to get to Snow Plow mode and scroll through steerpoints, targets, and markpoints again with PB17.

What works for me in the DCS Mudhen is 2 units of dead zone and +10 curve on the relevant axis. I apply it to both pitch and roll. My stick has an extension and cams that remove the center notch. I use stiff springs, but there is still enough leverage and weight that the stick will move in a light wind or by breathing I assume that someone with a short, light, stick, like a Saitek, would have shorter throws and a completely different tune than mine. One size most definitely doesn't fit all. I've noticed that there are big differences in pitch sensitivity from a light to heavy F-15E. That seems correct. For a while I didn't know to hold the trim button until light/audible warning. All these things combined, I'm in my happy place now.
-
I find it extremely easy to land. It's very gentle in the flare. Lots of lift available. A fine flying machine.

It seems like the only time I've had an issue with ALT HLD it when trying to engage it when the VV is more than 3 to 5 units off of the horizon bar.

The BRAKEHOLD switch is only needed if the alignment is interrupted. Page 62 of the manual states that the BRAKE HOLD switch is a signal to begin re-alignment after an alignment interruption. IME, if the chocks are in, the a/c doesn't move, and coordinates are either in the ME or correctly entered in the UFC, alignment will be successful. Question: with chocks in, is the BRAKEHOLD switch even needed during startup? I don't see it listed in the manual startup guide, nor in Notso's video. In the manual it's mentioned in the before takeoff checklist. In the checklist I am using, it's shown in the before start checks, but IME it doesn't work without electrical power, in other words, after engine start.
