DCS Newsletter discussion 17th February 2023 - RAZBAM F-15E Pre-order
Gierasimov replied to BIGNEWY's topic in DCS 2.9
@Dragon1-1 I am now genuinely curious, how do you pay for whatever you buy via Steam? Does it offer a wire transfer in your country or something? Just asking, don't mean to fuel the Steam / Standalone fire. -
DCS Newsletter discussion 17th February 2023 - RAZBAM F-15E Pre-order
Gierasimov replied to BIGNEWY's topic in DCS 2.9
There is always some dispute over DCS Shop now and then. My country doesn't do USD, and yet I buy in ED shop always. I also make gifts to others in the same shop. I deal with currency conversion by paying with my USD account card that costs me nothing. I mean literally 0 USD to uphold. Currency conversion rate is better than Steam too. There are ways, just saying. You do you, whatever you want, just stop fighting which way is better.. RAZBAM may have mishandled this a bit, sure, but end of a day, I guess most of folks will buy in EA. RAZBAM said it already presales are aimed at their fan base. It must mean that they somehow know, probably through their own metrics and sales telemetry, where to sell their product and at what price. It's RAZBAMs choice, and ours is to buy or not... -

Did you notice how Fulcrum is a victim in the pre-order video for Mudhen? With current Fulcrum I splash 1vs. 4 ACE Mudhens in revenge!

Seems to me Steam and ED miles aren't good for RB business Might be a wait enough to save up $$$ -

'right now' Imagine another round of 'angry birds' if and when RAZBAM changes their mind. Surely we all want products a little cheaper here and there, but c'mon folks, plenty of stuff coming from ED that you will spend your miles on anyways. -

I will be happy to preorder a day before it goes into Early Access. Looks really nice! -
This is an example of one of these Fulcrums. Accepted by NVA (Luftstreitkräfte) in 1988 with number 604, then in 1990 changed to Luftwaffe with number 29+01 (as I understand it was converted to "G" around 1995) and in 2004 transferred to Polish Air Force with bort number 4116. Remarkable history for such Fulcrum!
-
MiG-29A -114- delivered in 1990, assigned to 1.ELT (1st Tactical Aviation Squadron).
-
Long time no see, bort number 70, originally delivered in July 1989, currently assigned to 41.elt, 22 Tactical Aviation Base, Malbork.
-
Is it not the one that was re-printed and sold commercially? The one I posted image of?

Oh man... They literally said they will do it. First it was Simon, then it was Kate in that interview, then it was BigNewy and NineLine... What else do you need apart from newsletter announcement? It will come when the time is good. Look how many things they have to get done still with F5/16/18. ED will deliver. I always trusted them, I do and I will unless they do me wrong. There are phases to each project too. Getting the reference documents, planning the project resources, securing means, then announcing. Look at the recent announcement about Deka, few years they been planning it before it made it to the newsletter. Finally, in case you have not noticed, plans shifted by roughly 2 years.

Even better if it is G:

I honestly struggle to understand your point, but let us NOT derail this thread please. Share a nice photo of Fulcrum instead
-
I will buy multiple, first two already reserved;)
-
Some knew, NineLine. We will get it. I feel it in my fingers ... Fulcrum is all around me... In the meantime, enjoy this nice impression of Fulcrums supporting special ops (with it's cannon, rockets and iron) that I found on the net:

Dual Cougar MFDs for the FA18-C
Gierasimov replied to AnimalMother1775's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
If you want a ready made look at Cubesim or WinWing offerings. These come with screen & buttons. I understand that Cubesim is exactly TM Cougar size with custom screen and WinWing is larger than TM Cougar and also includes more buttons. $$$ though... -
Can you please check which missile is in this unit? It could be that it's wrongly labeled in Encyclopedia and still correct in the game or it could be the other way around.
-
Hi Gaz. If it says Igla-S ( Russian 9K338) then it's SA-24. Older Igla (Needle) missiles would be SA-18 (Russian 9K38) and SA-16 (Russian 9K310). What is registered in the log when it's in the air / hits? That will answer the question which 9k missile is in the he tube. Although when I am on the receiving end of it I care only if it guides to my flares and not my aircraft. I won't have neither time nor possibility of finding out exact model while it's flying in my direction. It can be as well Stinger or any other MANPADS for that matter. Just evade and drop flares. Revenge with 20 mike mike or or that big Sharky gun before the guy puts the next one on his shoulder.

Requesting AI wingman to attack a designated target
Gierasimov replied to Fisherman82's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
Well, if I assign two DMPI to my flight and give my wingman two GBU weapons he will conduct the mission in exact same manner on any given fly through. With the same level of accuracy, time on target and fly path. It will try to do that even if a mobile SAM pops up unless I manage the threat reaction. Which is good (no SAM present version) as I want him to do that anyways, but I wish AI was more agile. Executing the mission but adjusting it's tactics based on the situation (SAM present). On the other hand in CAS mission, not everything can be planned in advance, that's why there are controllers to dictate stuff. But you can't accept 9line and ask your wingman to execute it. -

Gierasimov replied to Fisherman82's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
This is something I have been using all the time I want AI to do something. But it requires setting up entire mission plan and makes things "scripted events" rather than reaction to threat / executing rules of engagement. Yeah, it still works though. -

There is a lot to be desired from AI flight members for sure. I agree. Maybe one day we will achieve the goals and wishes. For now it is what it is. -
Hm... Better save some $$ just in case it does!
