I hope this isn't the go to saturation / contrast the dev is going for. I like the original screenshot more. @MAESTR0 Is this a damage model for the airfields or is it one of the permanently destroyed ones?

I can't wait to rifle a Maverick into T-90 holding that Westminster bridge!

I think it's going to work, my personal view though and map is not only for me. I will buy it more than once for sure though

How are city / village names done? If you look at the Syria map, there are names for military bases areas and other places (cities, villages). It's not immediately visible, only when you zoom in but it's there. If we can't have anything better, for sure generic 'SAM site' will suffice. Maybe you could do sth similar to what it's there for airbases? Dedicated icon?

DCS: Roadmap (unofficial - NO DISCUSSION HERE)

Somehow this did not attach. Despite pre-order moved by two weeks, Early Access date stays the same Razbam said. -

Wingman AI Issue Can someone confirm?
Gierasimov replied to icecold951's topic in Mission Editor Bugs
There is no difference. Both ways work exactly the same way, only that after you started mission from ME then after you exit the mission you have the chance to go directly back to editing it. -
I know about RAZBAM, I know about third parties and their time to work on a module. What I said though, is that modules should not be really announced in situations if you have just one person coding /doing it the critical task. Remember what happened to Hornet's A/G radar? It was one person job and that person left. ED had to find another person and that took time. So, yeah it can happen even to a big shots like ED, relatively speaking, IF there is no backup / contingency planned. Every asset should be doubled at least. That way if one person goes the other person picks up and continues. Businesses often think of disaster recovery / backup / high availability of the hardware, systems and data, but unfortunately often forget about their workforce, in this case a critical piece of the puzzle. Let's also not forget that it isn't just any programmer that's needed. It's specifically programmer who understands the concept and has the knowhow and skills required for the particular type of development plus there is a learning curve for ED specifics. Wasn't that one of the third parties that said that it took them a year to get their heads around DCS development tools and methods?

Module announcement not module, right? I am waiting for Mudhen,my first third party aircraft module ...
-
The Coder has a new MAINJOB (!). Frankly, no module announcement should be made if the people involved are employees somewhere else. Working in 'spare' time on a module is good for unofficial mods. Development itself takes time, what if a next coder is able to bring it to early access and then leaves the for 'other' job? Early access will be ONLY access. Good luck with finding a solid replacement!

Dual Cougar MFDs for the FA18-C
Gierasimov replied to AnimalMother1775's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
@RafaPolitI went through various ideas and options when I was building my setup and eventually went for https://www.amazon.com/800×600-CLAA070MA0ACW-Screen-Monitor-Controller/dp/B072JTB73F VSDISPLAY 7" 7 inch 800×600 4:3 CLAA070MA0ACW LCD This is ideal fit in terms of viewable area and slightly wider than MFD, each side about 5mm. I also found 3D print enclosure for this size and I asked 3D print service to modify it a bit. 8" will be a bit too large for one MFD and too small for two. Maybe go withe simcube (similar screen) ot with winwing. I chose to build myself for 1/3 price total. -
Dual Cougar MFDs for the FA18-C
Gierasimov replied to AnimalMother1775's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
Frames will misalign with the screen frame based on the size of it. Visibility is great, however you need to keep in mind that currently exports are darker than in cockpit view. BN said its due to the fact that exports are not rendered with HDR whereas in-cockpit MFDs are. Apparently there is no quick fix for these at the moment. Working with the physical screen balance / color / brightness pretty much can solve this problem though - at least for me but I use three separate screens (CLAA070MA0ACW). To fit within TM Cougar MFDs size, the exports are configured to be 600 x 600 pixels on a 800x600 panel (in my case). To visualize, here is my setup. -
Problems with DCS Task attackMapObject in latest Beta 2.8.2.35759
Gierasimov replied to mongrel's topic in Mission Editor
@mongrelposting the same in multiple threads isn't going to help. Do you have a track for attackMapObject issue? -
As far as I know only landmarks and churches are indestructible across DCS maps. It could be that the object you tried received ridiculously high volume of hit points. In the past there was problems with some bridges and also with static objects for the same reason. A track would help with bug report though.

I agree that depicting modern weapon platforms as AI in DCS would be a nice eye candy but most people here would be really dissatisfied with the approximation of, for example F-35 flight envelope. MAC was not cancelled I think, at least it wouldn't be coz X game got this or that. Just wait for the news or updates. Forget it now, and focus on what's available currently. That's my way of dealing with DCS development.

As much as I understand the meaning of your post, I regarded BS3 upgrade as feature complete when I bought, that is what was advertised was delivered and now just normal DCS servicing will be performed.

Dual Cougar MFDs for the FA18-C
Gierasimov replied to AnimalMother1775's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
Nice one. I went for three screens + MFDs but frankly the middle screen sits too tight behind my stick and is cumbersome to use effectively. -
Hopefully with the new Su-17 model? Even better with Su-22M4 module? (Kind of second question of this nature to you this week from me, I know, I could not help it).

Hi Is this "correct as is"? Same engagement, 1st attempt - when AMRAAM is fired in VISUAL mode, I can get a kill from ~25nmi. The max that worked for me when tried repeatedly was 30nmi in this particular setup (.miz) - 120-Visual.trk 2nd attempt - If I lock up the target, the Maximum Launch Range (RMAX) is computed to about 13nmi. - 120-Locked.trk Also in the 120-Locked.trk there seems to be few seconds delay between target locked and HUD display symbology, in particular target box, range and AIM-120 Time to Active (ACT). I know that Steering Dot issue is already reported (lack of SHOOT cue) but I am specifically asking about the engagement ranges between two modes of firing. OR perhaps, this is all connected to current issues with Hornet A2A mode altogether and this post is not needed at all? Thanks. 120C-Locked.trk 120C-Visual.trk

It never is. I guess the big water sits between us though

Hi. Another user was faster with his wish. Viggen is also a third party module.
