This is correct, and this is why we are offering a small form of a refund on the F-15E, the others are out of EA, considered feature complete by RAZBAM and we plan to make sure they continue to work on DCS no matter what happens. The SA Map is still in active development despite the disagreement.

  4. When we have news we will let you know, nothing has changed, it's being worked on. It's a legal manner so that will complicate and slow things down. Accusing either side of stealing or wrong doing will not speed up the resolution. Thanks. Apparently, there is much more to it than this. Please note above, try and keep it somewhat constructive if not possible right now, it's probably best to leave this thread until there is more news. I know others are winding people up at various locations around the internet, but really there is nothing to be done until a solution is found.
  5. So I checked in our Dev build in the next release candidate and it worked fine, I did verify its not working in the release version so I am guessing its fixed internally. I will leave this open and you can report back after the next release either way. Thanks!
  6. Let's not go further than this, your description of us "stealing" is not helpful nor factual. You are basing this off leaked and unclear information that still does not list or describe all aspects of the disagreement. There is a lot of misinformation out there, especially the one "leaking" things. I recommend not getting caught up in all that and just waiting for official announcements. Yes, it's been quiet, and no we haven't shared anything new, but this is all we can do right now, all the rest of it will just stress you out, or cause worries that are not needed right now.

  14. We occasionally come on here and ask people to stay focused on the official announcements and the few things that have happened and have been noted. All the other stuff can be labelled however anyone wants but it's all really white noise around a frustrating issue. There are elements out there that want to stir the pot, drag in other subjects and drum up noise in the hopes of getting something right. The bottom line is, and remains that all official information should come from official announcements, anything official will be put in the original post here and beyond that the rest is all about people wanting to 'figure' things out. Why not close this thread? It will just open somewhere else, people want to chat about things, and some people hear some of these stories and want to know what is up. We need a place where we can all just come and vent a little or ask questions. This is the place for us here. Don't think I haven't wanted to close this a few times, but that's also just me being human and having my own frustrations in this situation.
  15. Added a new section to the FAQ: What does Early Access, Features and such mean for Terrain and how does it compare to Aircraft modules? (ADDED) We have noticed some confusion on what Early Access means for a terrain, especially one being sold with the possibility of owning only 1 or 2 parts. Features on a Terrain can be described as things like Airfields, Cities, POI's and such. Saying the SW portion is mostly feature complete it's for these types of objects and areas. What it doesn't mean is that those areas are necessarily done in layout or textures, all these things can change during Early Access. This also goes for textures, for example, some have pointed out areas where highly detailed abruptly bump up against low detailed areas. Even in the SW regions, this is still very much WIP. The challenge of doing a huge map like this is maintaining a reasonable size and performance. The idea here is to get the most out of the high-detail areas for all 3 areas, then go back and see how much we can push those medium-detail areas you would see between High and Low areas. If we were to complete the SW area before the others and push it to max levels before the other 2 areas were in, we run the risk of having an unmanageable sized map, or one with poor performance, and would require us to go back and pull some detail out. This is a very new way of doing a map, along with one of the biggest and most detailed maps to date, there will be some growing pains and it will look rough in places at times. We appreciate all those who are willing to continue on this EA with us, and we look forward to all your feedback and reports on the map!

  17. Again, don't read too much into a conversation that was supposed to be private between two adults that was never meant to be public. I assume most people have conversations they wouldn't be proud of or interested in sharing publically. It was poor form to share it and I feel bad for the person that was not in on that decision. It just adds fuel to a fire both sides are actively trying to put out. Once again, I will ask people to drop that discussion here. It's not an official announcement and not an element in this disagreement that is currently going on.

  19. And that is ok, we know Early Access isn't always for everyone. No one will be mad or disappointed if you want to wait longer. We appreciate all opinions on this.
  20. This is good feedback, and perhaps the dev team has plans for these, but if you don't mind, make a separate post in the bug section about POIs you expect and we can search them up. I think POIs are very important for making a map feel as real as a video game can feel real. Thanks! I think there is some confusion on the wording as our wording generally was designed for aircraft modules, and features are different parts and systems. With Terrains it's different. So features being complete are things like airfields, and being complete are being in the map and usable. The terrains, in and around these 'features' are still WIP and in some cases very much so. This is a new way of doing a map, in 3 parts, this is also the biggest map we have done so far. So what does this mean, some of the medium-level textures may have to wait until all the sections are in the game. This is so we can maintain performance and get the best we possibly can. So Some of these areas that have high textures butted up next to low textures may have to wait. If we do the max quality medium details now, then come back and do the other 2 sections we could end up with a map that runs like a slide show when all parts are available. So again, I understand the confusion on the near-feature complete wording. We will see if we can clarify this more in the future. We appreciate all this feedback it doesn't fall on deaf ears we take it to the Afghan team and management. So keep it coming, make bug reports, and share what you are not happy with but understand in no simple terms, this map is Early Access, it looks rough in some areas, but it will improve and all of your feedback will make it even better. I hope this answered some of your questions, I admit I jumped in very late here. If not, ask away again.
  21. IMHO, the noise I am hearing recently, I am more hopeful today than maybe I was last week. I know that's a cheap and slim answer, and I wish I could tell more. I really can't go into details sadly, I really wish I could because you guys are hearing a lot of stuff that is leading you on wild goose chases. A lot of what I am seeing out there in the wild is just a hint of what is going on without the real deep details. Sorry.

Just an update on this, with the help of a real-world Crew Chief I and testing out different survivable damage states within DCS and trying to determine what would be the resulting indicators and effects. My first report is some 30mm hits, loss of a leading edge flap, and the tip of that same wing. I do not have a timeline on when this might be looked at, and what can be done with our currently less complex damage model compared to the WWII one.
