resolved F18 suddendly starts rolling to the LEFT
NineLine replied to Skip365's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
I checked out the track and mission. There is an AN/ASQ-T50 pod on one wing tip and a Captive AIM-9M on the other, there is a slight difference in the weight and I am seeing a very VERY slight roll towards the AIM-9M, this is very easily countered with a touch of trim. To show this clearer you can load up a F/A-18C with a captive AIM-9M on both wings and you will see no roll at all, or reverse the current load out and see the slight roll the other way. I hope this helps/makes sense. -
I cleaned the thread a little, please only post if you are willing to offer your voice for campaigns and missions. Any other discussions will be removed.

No, the F-4U will be released when it's ready, it won't wait for any other products. Just be patient and wait for updates from Mag3.

fixed Mosquito landing gear strut incorrect operation..
NineLine replied to Holbeach's topic in Bugs and Problems
Ouch... right in the feelings Hey, can everyone do me a favor that is having issues? Can you all do some comparison landings on the Caucasus, The Channel, Normandy or any other extra map you have? It can be Caucasus vs any other map. I just want to see if you guys also see a difference. I had noticed it myself and just thought I sucked Make sure all things are equal, load and weather, etc. -

Well, no one is in trouble, well one person but they chose the red pill. I am mildly interested in the fact that this might be affected by the terrain, and why we might see it more on one map than another. I am looking into this for sure. So keep sharing and keep engaging, don't be worried unless you start calling people names or anything like that you will be fine -

There are some changes coming, but I believe Yo-Yo is trying to describe that the changes won't do everything that is expected here. -
AI ignores route when players jumps from aircraft
NineLine replied to Exorcet's topic in Aircraft AI Bugs (Non-Combined Arms)
Thanks, I will take a look. -
Right now they want to use their system. If it doesn't work out or they are not hearing what they need to hear we will chat with them about it.
-
If you guys have tracks of AI doing something outside what you think is real then you need to make sure you save a track and report it in the AI bug section of the forum as well. The AI doesn't really make many mistakes but generally is not unbeatable.
-
The AI does not make many mistakes if the player flies like this then he should be able to as well, but regardless we would need to see a track of this if you are reporting an issue. Thanks!
-
Please note that we do not have a traditional subforum for bug reporting. Instead, we have a link to Orbx's own reporting system so that you can directly report your issues to them. https://forum.dcs.world/forum/1235-bugs-problems-kola-map/ Thanks! The ED Team

Thank you I have passed this along! -
We don't have a timeline and we won't guess but many aspects of logistics are being done in DCS with mods, unlike the SC module which we are asking DCS to do things well beyond what anyone has done on a flight deck and carrier to date, so I know it's easy to drift down that path its not comparable.

AI ignores route when players jumps from aircraft
NineLine replied to Exorcet's topic in Aircraft AI Bugs (Non-Combined Arms)
Hey sorry seeing this now, so you want the AI to fly the planned route from the ME if you jump to another plane, I thought it did as well, if you have a test mission or tracks I will take a look I can also check it out myself. -
reported Silkworm missile not detected by E-3A AWACS
NineLine replied to vctpil's topic in Aircraft AI Bugs (Non-Combined Arms)
Hey both, thanks for the report. I have submitted this to the team and they agree that this should be a "thing" in DCS, of course, systems like this are highly classified and near impossible to model to real-world docs. We will take a look at it, and research and plan out a good approach to give a realistic reflection of this. Obviously, I cannot give a timeline right now but it is reported. -
DCS: Supercarrier Mini-Updates - Can we have some please?
NineLine replied to norman99's topic in DCS: Supercarrier
Testing and perfecting the directors is ongoing, it is no easy task. Most of these, if not all of these functions are new and beyond what most anyone has ever done with a carrier, as such it takes lots of time and testing. The chaos of a flight deck in MP has many great challenges for AI directors. Thanks. -

Hey all, just a small update I was told that there is some slight tuning of the Mossie gear coming down the line, so watch for it in an upcoming changelog and we can continue to discuss from there. Thanks all and I do appreciate all the conversation and testing on this, I really do. -
We most certainly need better ground vehicle controls with more realism but as I said this wasn't necessarily the initial goal, but should be something to strive for.
-
We expect them to become more active when the map releases, but they also have their own forums to deal with so how they will balance that all out is up to them. I will note with them the concerns of course.

CA was never intended to be a FPS although it might have rough elements of that in it. As well, I more than anyone would love to see CA get a fresh coat of paint including but not limited to new features and aspects to improve on the ground and command aspects. CA accomplished the needs it was added for at the time, comparing it to games like "Gunner, HEAT, PC" is not valid as CA was never intended to be a pure tank driver game. If you were honest you could say there are some things you can do in CA that you can't in those games. CA was built for needs at the time of DCS, giving players the ability to directly impact the battlefield while players flew missions. CA is currently 39.99 USD, on sale it's generally 19.99 USD. For all it does and adds to missions if used within the constraints of the intent of the product I feel is a pretty decent value. Pulling it because it needs updates seems a bit extreme, but we do know and understand that it needs updates. If we are talking about FPS aspects of DCS beyond what we have now then you are talking about something built upon or beyond what CA is. DCS as a whole will need to be made to complement a FPS environment or people will have to understand that any FPS additions are to add to the all-around impact and feeling of DCS as a Land/Sea/Air game. In the end, DCS was a flight sim first and everything is built upon that, this is why things like the Supercarrier take more time as we need to add and build up the core to handle these new and bigger features.

This is a bit of a loaded statement though I am sure the aircraft will perform the same in general but there are always slight or more than slight differences when the models are done to FF versions, this includes things like auto-pilot modes, etc. And of course, other systems may perform differently as they will be more detailed and in-depth than an FC aircraft is.
-
I have moved this to the wish list section as it doesn't seem to be any sort of bug report based on what we ask for in bug reporting. Please consider that next time you post. Thanks.
